MCTS Intro to Competitive Shooting / TGO meet and greet
HOGNUT replied to HOGNUT's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
As always, we do not limit the number of participates for any of our matches nor we will not be placing restrictions on the pistol caliber used. Just remember that if you would not use it to defend yourself on the street, it may not be the right choice for this event that is intended for real world scenarios and CCW/EDC. -

MCTS Intro to Competitive Shooting / TGO meet and greet
HOGNUT replied to HOGNUT's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
It is our pleasure! Anyone that is in attendance, please let us know about your experience. We hope to do more of these shooting clinics in the near future. This event is for beginners, significant others, newly acquired CCW holders and experience competition shooters. The only way to get better with your shots is to practice with real world type scenarios that we hope to never encounter. -
The XD is considered an ESP gun only. The Springfield XD seems to be very similar to the Glock but there are some major differences. When you pull the trigger on a Glock, you are in fact, cocking the striker about halfway. When you pull the trigger on the XD, you aren't cocking the striker at all. Because of that, the ATF considers this pistol to be a single action pistol. When the XD first came out, Springfield called it a single action striker fired pistol. Because this pistol is considered a single action, it cannot be used for Stock Service Pistol Division. It can only be used in Enhanced Service Pistol Division. Glocks are classed with double action pistols because of the fact that the trigger pull finishes cocking the striker. any gun that can be shot in SSP can also be used in ESP. The same magazine capacity is both in SSP and ESP.

Great match today! Awesome turnout(low to mid 30 shooters on a brisk morning). It was great to see the new faces and the new regulars(? hopefully). We had two people submitted their paperwork to join the MCTS family. -
We evaluate our schedule on a regular basis. If this event turns out the numbers that we anticipate, we will certainly look at doing more of these events. Wished you could be for this match. We still shoot on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. You need to come back to the range on the third weekend more if time permits.

Happy to have you here!

Amazing weather forecast for mid January. Sunny and low 40 as the high. This is going to be a great day for shooting in the winter. -
Everyone, I am excited to read emails/PMs/forum postings from people that will be traveling from Knoxville, Memphis, Nashville, Clarksville and Kentucky / Alabama(go figure) for this event. We anticipate a vast amount of TGO and new shooters to participate in this intro match. I have viewed the stages/COFs that were designed for this event and it will be a great day of shooting. I hope that this can be done on a yearly basis in conjunction with TGO to bring new people to defensive shooting. We look forward to this time to share with other TGO members and hope that you will visit the range more.

Any other men ready to step up and accept the challenge that Glenn did? What say you? Sorry watching a movie and that line was in it. -
If I could manage it for driving the most distance to the meet and greet, I would do my darnest to get you a hat. That shows true dedication. Now it has already been stated that hats will not be available in time for this event. However, I will get you a hat personally when they are available. Yes you do need to renew your benefactor status. This forum provides a great tool for purchases and information about area events. We have to provide support every way we can!

We would love to meet all of the TGO members in the area to put a face with the name. It will be a wonderful day of shooting(excluding possible cold weather). We will be shooting regardless of the weather.

TGO Shooting squad? I can see if TGO will sponsor shirts and stuff(match fees, bullets, primers, gas, food and we all know how I eat). I know I am pushing the luck. -

I think a big majority of our 150 plus new shooters this past found us on TGO or searching IDPA.com. This is not by accident that we hit this website so heavily. The more people that show up the more we can put others to work in the economy. I do not believe in big profit. I like spending it on the range with new equipment(Target Barn/MGM/etc) and construction companies rebuilding our bays. You see. Help us help the economy. I implore you to jump start the road to recovery and help your fellow TGO'er by allowing us to spend crazy money this year. Ok I know a lot of horsepoo is being thrown around. -
The Glock 34 is not working for you, let me know. I am in the market again for another 34(sorry, bigwakes....never should have done the three way deal with you and Eric). Or is anyone has a 17L. I am looking at one this weekend and may satisfy the hunger until next weekend after.

If you beat him at the match, video will be posted. I love our members beyond belief. With all joking or smack talk aside, WE DO have the best bunch of shooters that I could ask to be associated with. It keeps the day not boring sitting at work. -

Piss on you, I just dropped the computer. Actually he would have received a FTDR on every stage shot with inappropriate equipment or not shoot at all at a sanctioned match. -

You did a lot for us in a time of need for the range work without asking for anything in return. That type of willingness is rare in these days. You would not take money so we needed to help you help youself more in your shooting ability(I heard the rumors that you can't shoot the walls from the inside of the barn) and that is where we come in! These competitions are not that seriously taken by everyone. We do look at scores at the end of the day but we like having fun with one another while we are there. There are some that live and breath competition to the point of annoyance. We are there to get better and challenge ourselves. There a lot of people that come out, new and experienced. The word you used was sucked(I hate that term because we all started that way), if you don't mind me saying: every shooter has something to contribute to the event regardless of their skill set. We are there to have a great time with one another doing what we like to do, try out new stuff when people loan it to others and make people better with scenario type shooting. If you try it with an open mind, I seriously doubt that you will go back to an indoor range again. And yes, I try to be a man of my word when I can. Trust me when I say.....Glenn like to dress up like a school girl and go skipping down the road when he is not working. Or this can be considered full of it. -

Couldn't tell if you or David was on the thread. Are you coming out to the match with all of these ramrods? -

May be crazy but still true. You still have never beaten him. Doesn't have to have a classification to put a whooping on ya! Each one of us have gotten the better of each other in stages/matches. There is no doubt that this can be seen in previous matches. But we are not talking about the past now are we? For a nominal fee, you can be a bumped up to master class. WOW I did not know that you had a man crush on Greg or Chandler? You could have been there at the rifle match or did you still have fears of the last 3 gun match's rifle stage?
