  1. Welcome.  What do you like to shoot?
  2. looks like something that should be in one of the older Bond films.
  3. Why is everyone wanting to kill the skunk?  Boil him in oil?  Come on.   Here are ways to get them to move along.     http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/skunks/tips/solving_problems_skunks.html?credit=web_id87045299#Tolerance
  4. Here's a link with some ideas other than killing them.  Personally, I don't like to kill any animal I'm not going to eat unless they are naturally dangerous i.e. Brown Recluse Spiders, etc....   http://www.wildlifeanimalcontrol.com/skunks.html
  5. I started a thread on this not too long ago - link below:   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/87975-razor-sharp-all-the-time/
  6. It's easy to forget about how toxic lead is - would be a good idea do a little research on how to properly ventilate a space where you are melting lead.
  7. Just so we are all clear, riding that donkey never crossed my mind, unlike 69 Boyz in the post above.
  8. That gun is absolutely gorgeous. I like the way you changed the standard angles on the butt portion of the stock.
  9. I know a guy who used to find excuses to drive from Nashville to Knoxville to go to a liquor store that had an amazing selection of Scotch. Wonder if that is Bob's?
  10. I feel a lot of gratitude to those that put their lives on the line for me - military, police, fire fighters and anyone else I'm not thinking of.
  11. I like the live trap, relocation idea. They are interesting little animals that don't need to be killed like rattle snakes, rats, etc... The young should be able to survive without their mother by mid june
  12. I'll tell you, the NRA irritates me greatly with these shenanigans....and.....we are very lucky to have them. We wouldn't be where we are without them. I don't send money when it doesn't feel right. I did when the green tips were going on as that was a real threat. Joining the NRA doesn't cost that much. I would really like to encourage all gun enthusiasts to be a member.
  13. Sounds like a great young man. It doesn't sound to me like a lack of common sense, but a lack of experience. At his age I could have easily done that. Today I wouldn't. I've lived long enough to make mistakes and know to watch for the things that tripped him. A 17 year old who cut the grass without being asked - Whoa!
  14. Never claimed I was good looking, though I wouldn't expect to be confused for a donkey. Went to a friends today. His next door neighbor has donkeys. Mom and baby donkey were pretty close to the fence, so I walked over and they came and said hello. Dad is across the pasture and starts running over. At first I thought that he must love his carrots, then I noticed that he look mad. The little jerk thought I was after his girl, who was in heat. He mounted her and then looked at me so I would know who's boss.
  15. I really like this logo for most of the state, though I think memphis needs its own logo with more of a "Mogadishu on teh Mississippi" theme :)
  16. 20 more months! I didn't realize it's that long. I really don't like his behavior. It is simply not acceptable to me to go around the system to force policy that a politician can't do otherwise. Our government system is far from perfect, though checks and balances has been really powerful. Doing things like pressuring the ATF to ban ammo just doesn't work for me.
  17. I totally agree. They sent a survey a couple of months ago with outrageous questions and assertions. I went and researched some of them and found that the NRA was lying just as badly as the gun haters. Also, Obama is becoming less relevant every day as we move toward the election. I think Obama has angered enough people that we have a good chance to get a Republican if they come up with a decent candidate
  18. These are good points. Same thing w/ North Korea - many of their threats against us are meant for internal consumption. I also agree with you that politicians, regardless of where they are, say one thing to the populace and something else behind closed doors. Moving away from the religion topic, my biggest concern is becoming the Chinese. The capitalists make the money, but the commies run the show. Their economy will soon surpass ours and they don't spend 30% more than they take in each year like the US does. They are already throwing their military weight around in the South China Sea and they are far behind us. What will it be like when they are consistently outspending us on the military.
  19. Omega, You and I are now on the same page. I agree with everything you just said.
  20. Omega, Thanks for sharing. Understand that I'm not a terrorist loving liberal who wants to let them off because their mother didn't love them. KKing and Omega, I’m not asking you to agree with me, but to listen with an open mind. I’ll do the same for you when you give me something to work with, like Omega posting this video. The video clip you posted represents the view of those in power in the government of Iran - not the population as a whole. The Rand Corp surveyed Iranian people by phone. One of the things they learned is, “The survey also suggested that Iranians with higher incomes, higher levels of education, and access to multiple sources of information may be more supportive of Iranian policies that are more favorable to U.S. interests. U.S. policies meant to shape Iranian behavior may be more effective if they focus on this particular sector of the Iranian population.” World Public Opinion found: "(1) Iranians want their government to talk with the U.S. about specific issues and approve of their government's making policy concessions on both regional issues and its nuclear program in order to achieve normalized relations with the U.S. and While Iranians, like many other Muslim populations, have negative opinions of the U.S. government and U.S. foreign policy, they have a mildly positive image of the American people, and believe "common ground" can be found between the two societies. Most Iranians desire closer ties with the U.S., including more trade, investment and tourism." My point is that taking the actions of a few and applying that to the whole population doesn’t make sense, nor does it allow the US to act in our self interest, as demonstrated in the comments by Rand. Of course, there are common people that agree with the government. Sadly, the Shah of Iran was replaced by a religious nut case in 1979, which is not what the people wanted. They wanted more freedom. The US played an important role in over throwing the Shah. We were pissed because he supported higher oil prices and the emergence of OPEC in the 70s wreaked havoc on our economy. Surely, the US politicians didn’t want the Ayatolla to take over, though that is what happened. All of this to say, things are more complicated than they appear. Sweeping generalizations about other populations doesn’t support the interests of our country or the intentions and beliefs of other populations.
  21. ok, I'll discuss / debate this some more - though I won't argue. KKing, your comments on my response, which I acknowledge that you redacted, were argument. I'll refer to the following quotes from this thread: "the truth is that the religion of Islam endorses the violent acts of its followers,... " "With Muslims, there are entire Countries preaching death to the infidels." One of the big issues I have is with all or nothing which is shown in the quotes above. KKing, one of my points is that your statement above has taken the actions of some Muslims and applied it to the whole religion. The are many people who do not agree with your statement. Omega, Can you let me know some of the countries where the the entire population is preaching death to infidels? All or nothing thinking enables thinking of entire populations as bad, less than, etc..., which has lead to some awfully horrific behavior against some populations. The other big point I was trying to make is that it doesn't makes sense to me to explain awayissues with my religion, yet not grant the same to others. Gotthegoods said, "It is in no way, shape or form of what Jesus teaches." As far as I know, he is correct in this. What isn't mentioned in his statement is the extensive violence in The Old Testament. As an example, in 1st Samuel 15:3 God told King Saul to perform genocide against the Amalekites. King Saul spares their king and kept some of the livestock. God was angry and took his kingdom away. It would be very easy to make negative comments about Christianity based on this part of the Bible. Yet, it isn't that simple. A lot of context has to be considered when evaluating this story. I don't know how to explain this story. Regardless of that, I believe that God doesn't approve of genocide or much of the behavior humans do to each other. In the same way that I believe what I just stated, I think I need allow those with different beliefs to do the same thing. There are plenty of Muslims who don't believe that their religion preaches violence. ok, off to bed for me.
  22. The info above is stated as fact when it isn't. The Bible has plenty that could be interpreted as justifying violence. Christian's deny this in a variety of ways which tend to revolve around specific passages being taken out of context, which I agree with. I am a Christian and don't view Christianity as a violent religion. Many Muslims feel the same way about Islam - that claims of it being a violent religion are being taken out of context. Their assertion is supported by the vast majority of Muslims that are peaceful. It doesn't make sense to me to allow grace for my religion, yet not for people that have different beliefs. The big problem with religion is the same as with many other things - people get involved in it. Whenever people are involved there will always be a small group that makes everyone else in the same group look bad. Also, I'll go ahead and state now that I won't be betting into an online argument on this issue.
  23. I use magazine load assists on my semi auto's. Way faster and way easier.
  24. Whoa! That knife is awesome.
