I wouldn't consider it a screw-up, but rather learning something. We have a lot of old salts that have been messing with guns for 30 or more years. When I first got back into guns, it took a while to figure things like this out. Assuming that Jenny is a woman, I'm just glad to see another women showing interest.

Regarding Milwaukee, I haven't seen the video personally, but understand the officer had a chest cam which clearly showed that he was telling the guy to drop his gun and he wouldn't do it. I don't know what the protesters want. I don't worry about being shot by a policeman. Having said that, if I get pulled over, by the time the officer gets to my car I have the documentation he's going to need in my hands, both of which are on the steering wheel. To me, that is just basic common sense.

What was it that Andy did with ammo for Barney? Was it that he could only have one round and he couldn't keep it in his gun, but had to keep it in his pocket?

The only thing missing from this picture are guns for mom and dad.

Business idea for the knife makers and machinists
Pete123 replied to Pete123's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Absolutely, the multi blade cartridges were not an improvement in shaving. They are faster and easier to keep from nicking yourself and any benefit from them ends there. Wet shaving is closer, with less razor burn and irritation. While there are plenty of expensive products, a $35 razor, with 100 blades for $20 and $20 dollars worth of shaving soap with a $10 brush will last a very, very long time. -

If you can turn out straight razors comparable to the quality of what you post here you could pick up a very good following quickly. The wet shaving community is different than the gun community. They embrace small businesses that make things, which they call artisans. Example, I can buy 2.5 lbs of quality shaving soap for about $40. The artisans come out with soap that costs about $20 for four ounces. If it is good soap, the artisans can't make enough. Check out the price points on the razors from Classic Shaving. They are one of the best respected straight razor companies. If you, or any of the knife makers on TGO, get on one of the shaving forums, they'll tell you exactly what they want. You could make one and ship it around to the folks on the forum, then make improvements they suggest and the next thing you know you'll be getting $500 per razor with a months long waiting list. These folks buy and sell $200 or $250 shaving brushes like you wouldn't believe. http://www.classicshaving.com/razors/straight-razors.html?p=1 -

We have several knife makers on TGO and I'm sure we also have machinists. One of my non gun related hobbies is wet shaving, which is using old style razors such as a Gillette double edge or straight razor, whipping up shaving cream with a brush and mug, etc... I'm hear to tell you, there are a lot of wealthy wet shaving enthusiasts and they spare no expense. Below are some straight razor pics, with a knife thrown in, from a guy in Italy. There are also pictures of a razor and a link to this guys site. Wolfman is a machinist in the day time. He makes double edged razors which are pictured below. They sell for $500 and the waiting list is many months long. His website is wolfmanrazors.com -
A former IRS guy does my taxes. My book keeper, who is very sharp and someone I trust completely, very much believes in him. Send a PM if you would like to get connected with him.

Well, I'll have to hand it to Apple, a California tech company, for having a gun emoji in the first place. Alas, it's going away. Here's a link to the article and a pic from the article. http://money.cnn.com/2016/08/01/technology/apple-pistol-emoji/index.html

Hmm... You couldn't go wrong with a nice SKS, AK 47 or AR 15. It's hard to go wrong with a quality milsurp bolt action rifle. Coming back to handguns, what's not to love about a Springfield Armory 1911?

GrayFox, Perhaps you are getting on in years, though you certainly have good taste in guns. I like the striker fired guns for carry defense, though when I'm shooing for fun it's always the type guns you like.

I'll tell you what, there are so many dishonest people in the world. We have a fair amount of members that are getting older. Sadly, older people are the target of many of these things. I used to live in Atlanta. There was an elderly lady across the street. Some scumbags came by and said he roof needed to be treated for some reason or other. She paid them. They were on the roof spraying water on it when another neighbor checked on her and called the police. The thieves left before the police could get there. Too bad, the Dekalb County Jail isn't a great place for white boys.

That's wild. I have a couple of military pics where that happened. I'll see if I can find them.

Sounds like there are different kinds of protective vests, making it important to get the right one for the job. I appreciate all of you who have a job where you need one. I find it quite irritating when folks who lay their lives on the line have to pay for their own vest. They are expensive.

The Battle for Midway. This was the turning point for the Pacific fleet during WW2. We unleashed major whoopass on them.

Here's my take: 1. TDS Telecom is hands down the best choice if they have service in your area. 2. AT&T is offering low cost fiber into buildings where they already have fiber installed. Not sure if they do this for residential. If so, it is completely awesome. 3. Comcast has the most reliable and fastest service. Most people have good luck with them. If you are one of the ones that doesn’t have good luck, then most likely won't get support. 4. AT&T - Their residential DSL service is ok. It’s not as fast or reliable as Comcast, but the customer service is good. Comcast burned bridges with me and I switched to AT&T. I’m glad I changed, even though the service is slower and not as reliable. 5. Google fiber has not lived up to the hype in other markets. They aren’t widely deployed here, though I personally would avoid them. Finally, do you need TV? I watch a lot of video and don’t have tv service. I watch a lot of Netflix, Hulu and Amazon.

Those are some great pics you all are posting. The artillery/mortar shots are really good. I didn't realize that Chinooks can do mid-air refueling. I'm old school, so I definitely appreciate the missiles that armybrat posted.
