  1. I disagree that Runco did something that he shouldn't have.  Hickock's everpedia page has personal details about him leading me to believe that he did the page himself or provided the details to someone else.   Hickock is a public figure.  I suspect the privacy issue isn't as big a deal to him as is perceived in some of these other posts.
  2. Sounds like the Dremel may be a little too much.
  3. Also, Dremel with a cloth polishing wheel used veeeeerrrryyyy lightly.
  4. I'm definitely taking it easy.  Got to the physical therapist Thursday and have been doing what she told me to do.     That would really suck to have people letting their dog crap in your yard, then you dislocate your shoulder throwing their dog poop back at them.
  5. Rbert,   I placed the order about a week ago.   I did a lot of Internet research before choosing Boyd's.  I wasn't able to find a reasonably priced supplier with good customer service reviews.     Boyd's was the best of the lot.     After ordering my stock I didn't get a follow-up email.  That would irritate me from a company like Amazon, though I've learned to lower my expectations with many of the gun related companies.     So, I go to the Boyd's site and was able to determine that they don't want to hear from you until your order has been placed for two weeks because it takes that long if they have to make it.   I would still choose Boyd's after reading the reviews you posted, though my expectations have been lowered further.  I won't start getting excited until my order is five or six weeks old.
  6.   BTQ, certainly no reason to avoid watching them.  I can tell you from personal experience after hanging out with each of them that they are clingy and needy.  :-\
  7. I have a stock on order from them.  I did research and found that none of the stock companies seem to have great service.    The info I found was positive on Boyd's, though I didn't find the site you did.   Any stock you order may well take some work on your part to get it to fit the gun.  Sounds like you have to figure that part out for yourself with Boyd's.
  8. I don't use Comcast email and can't take a look.  Having said that, I have a few suggestions based on issues like this that have happened in the past.   It's possible that the inbox is gone, though that's less likely than some other things.    1. Check to see if your inbox has been archived, if so, see if you can reverse it. 2. Check to see if your inbox has been 'hidden' 3. Google 'comcast inbox disappeared' and see if that comes up with anything. 4. Call Comcast tech support.  I put that one last as Comcast is so hard to deal with.
  9. I hate seeing Johnny Cash's daughter on there.  Also, Tennessee has been very good to Steve Earle - hate to see him on there as well.
  10. That gun is gorgeous!
  11. Awesome, thanks for the additional input
  12. i'm guessing that it is a clerical error.
  13. Not so sure the shoulder is worse than the elbow - you really need them both.   There are a lot of nerves in the shoulder area, so the pain is tremendous.  Once it's back in it isn't so bad.
  14. That sucks.
  15.   Yeah, I'm ok.  The first dislocation was a bad one.  This dislocated to the front which isn't that bad.
  16.   Funny you should mention that.   I was just cleaning up my Enfield No.5 Jungle.   If not familiar with this gun, it was designed from the ground up for maximum recoil.   They started with an Enfield receiver and barrel and scalloped away all steel that wasn't completely necessary.   Then, they put a straight stock on it.   Then, they used the 303 British round, which certainly isn't a .223   Then, they took a piece of very hard rubber and reduced its size, the impact being that the force is concentrated on a smaller area.
  17. So, dislocated my shoulder earlier this week.   I got lost in a bad part of town.  There was a big group of thugs getting ready to attack this young woman.  Well, of course I couldn't sit back and watch that happen, so I cleaned house.   Then, while finding my way home I came across a grizzly bear getting ready to eat two small kids and I had to save them and dislocated my shoulder while pulling the bears teeth out.   Well, at least that's the official story.     The truth - the cat pissed me off.  I threw a hand towel at him and my shoulder dislocated.  Aging sucks - really it sucks!
  18.   Well, in that case I take back everything positive that I said.   Funny how politicians are - they can come across well and be anything but.
  19. This is all great info - thanks.   Greg, I agreed that I wouldn't say what it's for as she's still working on the patent.
  20.   Not yet, I need to get better at short range first  :-\
  21. I don't know enough about long range shooting to say whether this is marketing hype or is accurate, though thought some folks here would find this interesting:   https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/1000-yards-500-rifle-rugers-american-predator/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=20151228_BlogDigest_152&utm_campaign=/blog/1000-yards-500-rifle-rugers-american-predator/   Would be interested to hear what the long range guys have to say about this.
  22. Great input - thanks.   The form rubber and balsa wood aren't strong enough for the amount of pressure that will be applied.   3D printing would potentially be a great solution, though how would she tell the printer what to print?  She isn't set up to use CAD/CAM type software.  I would think that telling the printer how to print what is effectively a little mountain, where the height, angles, etc...  all have to be exact.   Does anyone have ideas on how to achieve this with things she can purchase at Home Depot or somewhere similar?
  23. Maybe I'm not up to date.....last I heard she said that the Fair Grounds Board should repeal their ruling.  Has there been a change to that?
  24. I have a friend that is an inventor. She needs to develop some prototypes and has found the cost to be prohibitive. I’ll bet some folks here would have ideas on how she can achieve what is needed and would appreciate any input. The first two pictures show a green material which has velcro on the bottom. She purchases the green material and knows how to form it to the needed shape. She needs a filler material so that it won’t collapse when pressure is applied. I thought about plaster, though there may be something better. The amount of pressure it has to withstand is what a person can apply to it. This part of the project is pretty straight forward. Once she determines the needed shape and size, she needs a more sturdy and professional solution to provide to prospective customers, which you can see in the third and fourth pictures. The device in the pictures shown was prepared professionally and was expensive. While I don’t know the solution, I have to think that is some kind of plastic material where she can form it using heat or some kind of solvent which will then meet the requirements outlined above. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
  25. Went to a breakfast today where Mayor Berry spoke.   I felt pretty good about her relative to Second Amendment rights considering that she is a liberal.   Here's why:   1. She repeatedly talked about conversations with all stakeholders. 2. She talked a lot about asking the right questions.   3. She specifically talked about youth violence and work being done there.  She didn't say anything about gun control.     I got the feel that she is savvy enough to know that gun control won't work, that she understands that Tennesseans love their guns and that gun companies create jobs.   Of course, I'm drawing these conclusions from a speech given by a politician, so who knows what the truth is.
