  1. A Republican congressman is prepared to introduce national concealed carry legislation in the next Congress after Donald Trump is sworn in as president. North Carolina Republican Rep. Richard Hudson introduced a similar bill in February 2015, H.R. 986. Now known as the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, the bill, which The Daily Caller obtained exclusively, would allow a person with a concealed carry license from one state to carry a concealed handgun in any other state that permits its resident to concealed carry, as long as the person is not banned from possessing or transporting a firearm under federal law. The bill excludes carrying “a machine gun or destructive device,” and the person must follow “the restrictions of that state.” http://dailycaller.com/2016/12/05/gop-congressman-preps-national-concealed-carry-bill-for-next-congress/
  2. Welcome from the other end of the state
  3. This is happening way too frequently. A Chattanooga police officer was shot three times on Thursday morning in the Glenwood community prompting a massive city-wide search that includes "all available resources." According to CPD Chief Fred Fletcher, the officer was checking an abandoned building to make sure no one was inside. That is when a man came out. At some point the suspect opened fire and the officer was hit three times. The officer was treated at Erlanger for injuries not considered life-threatening and later released. The officer's family has been notified but his name is not publicly released. http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/33841145/cpd-officer-show-in-glenwood

  8. The only thing I will add is get as many manuals as you can (or at least two). I ran into a situation a while back with a load for 45 colt, one manual's max load was the same as another's starting load. BTW, I use Lee equipment also.
  9. That's a super deal !! I got mine when they were on sale for $139 and was happy with that price.
  10. Big change on question 11e. Question 11.e asks if the person filling out the background check is “An unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana” among other controlled substances. It has a new warning that points out that marijuana use remains “Unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it has been legalized or decriminalized for medicinal or recreational purposes” under state law. https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/new-ffl-form-4473-for-background-checks-incoming/

  12. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on my first red dot but wanted to get some opinions first. For my purposes, I can't justify the cost of an Aimpoint, so I've just about made up my mind on the Vortex Optics Sparc II 2 MOA. I don't mind the $200 if it's worth it.(better than $450). I haven't been able to find any really bad reviews, but as I said, this is my first so what say the experienced users?
  13. IMO, no.
  14. That's what the Post Office used to spray barcodes on envelopes. They've since gone to a more advanced system.
  15. I believe it's legal to manufacture a weapon for your own use, so if they are treated as a long gun maybe it would also be legal to make your own. If it turns out this way we may also see a lot of "kits" on the market.(Similar to 80% lowers)
  16. Welcome neighbor. Nice to see someone new from this end of the state.
  17. I just picked up a box of Winchester M-22 (1000 rounds) at the Raleigh Walmart this morning $50 and change. Has anyone tried this round yet?
  18. Don't mess with old people !! Police have identified two men who were fatally shot by a homeowner they were allegedly attempting to rob Tuesday afternoon. Jonathan Warren, 18, of Florissant, and Lonnie Middlebrook, 20, of Ferguson, were shot and killed by a homeowner in the 4100 block of Taft, which is a few blocks from the old Bevo Mill Restaurant. Police said Warren and Middlebrook entered the homeowner’s detached garage and attempted to rob him just before 4 p.m. One of the suspects held a gun to the homeowner’s head and demanded that he back up, police said. The 73-year-old then grabbed his own gun and, fearing for his safety, fired it at the suspects, according to officials. Police said the homeowner fired in an act of self-defense, killing both suspects. The suspects’ guns and the homeowner’s gun were found at the scene. According to police, the gun recovered from Warren was reported stolen on Oct. 30 by the Florissant Police Department. http://bearingarms.com/bob-o/2016/11/03/old-steel-73-year-old-outdraws-kills-teen-thugs-st-louis/
