  1. You're a step ahead of me, I have one but never shot it . Maybe someone else with some experience will chime in with the pros and cons of the caliber. It's supposed to be a very flat shooting round so I picked mine up when I thought I was going to be able to make an antelope hunt out west. The hunt fell through so it landed in the safe.
  2. Have you considered the 25-06 ?

  5. Country star Roy Clark, the legendary singer and multi-instrumentalist with an ear-to-ear smile who headlined the hit TV show "Hee Haw" for nearly a quarter century, has died. He was 85. A rep for the singer told Fox News Clark died on Thursday at his Tulsa, Okla., home due to complications from pneumonia. https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/roy-clark-country-music-legend-and-hee-haw-star-dead-at-85
  6. As an example, while everyone was focused on the elections, the Dems. introduced H.R. 7115. I highly doubt if it will go anywhere but they are going to keep trying. Worth reading the bill. https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/7115/text?r=1

  10. Just when you think the gun grabbers have reached the upper limits of insanity, they raise the bar Two New York lawmakers are working to draft a bill that would propose a social media check before a gun purchase. Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and state Sen. Kevin Palmer’s proposal would allow authorities to review three years of social media history and one year of internet search history of any person seeking to purchase a firearm. “A three-year review of a social media profile would give an easy profile of a person who is not suitable to hold and possess a fire arm,” Adams explains. The two are hoping to identify any hate speech on social media profiles, which are often revealed only after someone is arrested in a mass shooting. https://bearingarms.com/tom-k/2018/11/05/ny-lawmakers-want-social-media-checks-gun-purchases/

  12. This may put somewhat of a crimp on the online Black Friday sales I won't stir the pot by expressing my opinion of unions UPS is preparing for what could be the second-biggest employee strike to hit the delivery company since 1997. The Georgia-based parcel service said it's clearing all of its freight shipments this week to ensure its network is completely empty by Friday, days before a massive strike could potentially start. Up to 11,000 drivers, who are represented by the Teamsters union, may be on strike as early as Monday morning, as contract negotiations remain at a standstill. All week, Teamster members across the country have been voting on UPS’s “last, best, and final offer” contract with final votes expected to be tallied on Sunday. If a majority of members do not approve the contract, UPS Freight drivers will not go to work on Monday. The two parties have been going back and forth on wage increases, better pay for drivers who perform dock work, benefits and restrictions on subcontractors. In a statement to FOX Business, a UPS spokesperson said that, "We are disappointed that the Freight Teamsters union leaders have chosen to announce the potential for a strike, should their members vote 'no' on the offer. The company has worked with UPS Freight customers to inform them of the potential for service disruption and the need to arrange alternative carriers." What’s more, while UPS has responded to certain demands from union members like keeping the threshold for workers to qualify for a year of pension credit at 1,500 hours instead of increasing it to 1,800, it has not conceded on all their demands. If the strike happens, it will be the first UPS strike since 185,000 employees held a 16-day walkout in 1997. https://www.foxbusiness.com/features/ups-preparing-for-a-massive-driver-strike
  13. Has anyone tried this ammo ? Dunham's has it on sale today and tomorrow only for $17.99. I need more 22 ammo like I need another hole in my head but, as they say, there's no such thing as having too much ammo
  14. A person of interest in a double murder investigation in Louisiana is believed to be on his way to Middle Tennessee. Michael T. Collins is wanted for simple burglary and has been identified by authorities as a person of interest in a double homicide investigation in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Denham Springs Police tell WAFB investigators found the bodies of Eugene F. Frank Gurley, 72, and Patricia K. Gurley, 70, inside a metal building on a highway Tuesday night. Collins is believed to be in a white 2016 Nissan Frontier pickup truck with a Louisiana license plate bearing No. Y193507. Denham Police says the truck belongs to Eugene F. Gurley. Denham Springs Police say Collins may be on his way to Macon County, Tennessee. Anyone with information on Collins has been asked to call 225-665-5106. http://fox17.com/news/local/louisiana-double-murder-person-of-interest-believed-to-be-headed-to-the-nashville-area

  16. I've never worked with it but it seems rather easy just reading this: https://triangletactical.net/2012/05/13/diy-the-ins-and-outs-of-working-with-kydex/
  17. Just to let you know what will be involved in your decision: Revolver ? (single action or double action). Semiautomatic ? (single action, double/single or double action only) (striker fired or hammer fired). Then you have to decide on the caliber and there are numerous ones (380, 38, 9mm, 40cal., 45) and several more that I didn't list. Next, you have to choose a manufacturer, again there are many of them. As far as being ripped off. Big stores like Basspro and Academy are often over priced and the smaller gun stores will try to sell you what they have in stock. I know it will ruin the surprise but your husband really needs to be the one to pick it out or do as greg mentioned and see about a gift certificate. BTW, I wish my wife wanted to buy me one
  18. First, welcome to the group. What you're asking is like trying to pick out clothes for a teenage girl. The best bet is to let him pick it out.
  19. Couldn't have said it better myself. From Mad Dog: Secretary of Defense James Mattis on Sunday condemned the person accused of killing 11 people at a Pittsburgh synagogue, calling him a “coward” and not a real man. The suspect, identified as Robert Bowers, reportedly yelled “All Jews must die!” during the shooting. “This individual — I won’t even call him a man — he’s the poorest excuse for a man you could ever come up with,” Mattis said, according to the Military Times. “Who would use a weapon in a house of worship, on unarmed innocent people and even shoot four policemen, then surrender himself? This is a coward,” Mattis added. “He is not a man by any definition that we use in the Department of Defense.”
  20. Thanks
  21. Can you post pictures in PMs the same way as in threads ?
  22. A couple more good deals even though I know everyone is well stocked with 22 ammo now.
  23. I'll have to look closer at Walmart. I can't remember ever seeing the 124gr. there.
  24. Fair price on 9mm Winchester ammo, plus free shipping if you buy 20 boxes (1000 rounds) https://palmettostatearmory.com/winchester-usa-9mm-nato-124gr-fmj-ammunition-50rds-q4318.html
