  4. I think masks are going to be around for a while since the big boys (Hanes and Fruit of the Loom) started making them. Manufacturers with money attract Politicians.
  5. Silly me, here I thought the question of reopening schools was a health concern regarding the children......... The second-largest teachers union in the U.S. called to defund the police and place a moratorium on charter schools in a “research paper” recommending that Los Angeles city schools stay closed at the beginning of the fall semester. United Teachers Los Angeles released its study on school reopenings on July 9, recommending that schools only open once a set of safety precautions and funding conditions are met. On Monday, the Los Angeles and San Diego school districts announced they would not reopen for the near future. “We must shift the astronomical amount of money devoted to policing, to education and other essential needs such as housing and public health,” the study reads. The study also supported a moratorium on charter schools, saying they “drain resources from district schools” and received “federal small business bailout loans even though state funding did not decline this school year.” https://www.nationalreview.com/news/l-a-teachers-union-calls-to-defund-police-cap-charter-schools-as-part-of-covid-reopening-plan/

  7. I've got a really good one for you but it has nothing to do with this virus. I can't post it though until I get to Costco and get one (or two) of their commercial size rolls of tin foil.

  9. Midway has the Lee carbide 3 die set in stock for 33.99. If you want, you can also get the carbide Factory crimp die for 16.99 (also in stock) I don't use anything except Lee dies.
  10. I'm having an outpatient procedure done tomorrow at the hospital so they had me go in Tuesday for a covid test. All I can say is "damn!!!". They put that swab in my nose so far I was expecting to see brain tissue on it when they pulled it out. BTW, it came back negative, so at least I didn't have it when they did the test

  12. Charlie Daniels, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame best known for "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," died Monday morning after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83. Daniels' death was confirmed by his publicist, Don Murry Grubbs. He is survived by his wife, Hazel, and son Charlie Daniels, Jr.
  13. This thread brought back a memory from long ago. We used to fish below the Ft. Gibson Dam in Oklahoma when I was growing up. When the turbines weren't running there was a body of water between the dam and shore (indicated by red/brown line in the following image). Everyone would wade out to about waist deep water to get closer to the dam were the larger fish seemed to be. Once when there, I hooked something big and it was putting up one hell of a fight. It finally jumped a little ways out of the water and was a gar that seemed to be a least as long as me (I was about 12 when this happened). I was trying everything I could to break the line and finally succeeded. I turned around to wade ashore and saw that the 20-30 people that had been with me in the water were all standing on dry land. When we left, they were still fishing from the bank.
  14. I didn't know he was retired Air Force. He got into painting while stationed in Alaska because he was so taken by the scenery up there.
  15. I know this breaks Gibb's rule 39 but I think I ran across one today. I'd been hearing about this Tubi thing and decided to check it out. Went to their site and just plugged in the name of a show I used to watch many years ago, "The joy of painting, with Bob Ross". I don't remember ever thinking about him or his show up until today. I was a happy camper to find out it was on there. I was dabbling in oils when I started watching him so watched every show I could. Now for the coincidence. I knew he was dead but pulled up his bio. and found out he died 25 years ago today. July 4, 1995.
  16. I had some neighbors like that once but it had nothing to do with fireworks, at least not the kind you watch.
  17. Happy Independence Day and....................................... ............................"GOD BLESS THE USA"
  18. The good, the bad and the ugly and it appears to be a Navy Colt
  19. Welcome from a southern neighbor. If I lived that close to Dixie gun works I would stay broke
