Now they're telling parents what they can or can't do in their own homes A Tennessee school district is under fire for asking parents to sign a form agreeing not to eavesdrop on kids' virtual classes over concerns they could overhear confidential information. After significant pushback, Rutherford County Schools is allowing parents to tune in with permission from the teacher but they can't record the classes. https://www.foxnews.com/us/tennessee-parents-waiver-eavesdropping-online-lessons

The Trump Administration opened another 2.3 million acres of public land for hunting and fishing on Tuesday. Fox News reported that the newly available acreage is being “touted as the largest historic expansion of its kind.” It represents the “single largest” expansion of hunting and fishing opportunities to occur throughout the history of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The new access opens up hunting and fishing opportunities at “138 national wildlife refuges and 9 national fish hatcheries.” The Hill reported Bernhardt released a statement in which he said, “We continue to take significant actions to further conservation initiatives and support sportsmen and women who are America’s true conservationists.” The new hunting and fishing opportunities are “scattered across nearly every state and include parts of the Everglades in Florida, the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Texas and the Flint Hills National Wildlife Refuge in Kansas.” https://www.breitbart.com/sports/2020/08/19/trump-admin-makes-additional-2-3-mil-acres-available-hunting-fishing/

This makes my blood boil. I'm not one that normally thinks of law suits but I believe this would change my mind if it happened to me and my child. (This was back in June) A Baltimore County, Md., fifth-grader got a visit from the police after his teacher called to report that she had seen a BB gun on the wall behind the student during a class video call. The principal and the teacher cited a rule stating that students may not bring guns to school and claimed it extended to virtual classes as well, Sperry said, adding that the school handbook does not address rules for virtual learning at all. https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/paula-bolyard/2020/06/11/teacher-spying-on-student-during-virtual-class-sends-cops-to-search-11-year-olds-home-after-spotting-a-bb-gun-n518679

I guess I need to start watching the local news again. When did this happen ? Additionally, the state of Tennessee issued new quarantine guidance for household contacts of a positive person. The household contact’s 14-day quarantine period will not begin until the positive person in the household has completed their minimum 10-day isolation. The Hamilton County Health Department updated their policy on the date the State issued the guidance. This new guideline means household contacts will often need to stay home for a minimum of 24 days, depending on onset of symptoms, which could extend the quarantine period longer. It is imperative to follow this guidance closely as the virus can be incubating during this time frame, said officials. Leaving quarantine too soon can result in the spread of COVID-19 https://www.chattanoogan.com/2020/8/18/413760/Hamilton-County-Has-1-More-Coronavirus.aspx

I went through this a couple of times with them. The few times I've ordered from them since, I've called their 1-800 number and twice the person I talked to told me what I wanted was out of stock even though their website said it was in stock. -

From the TWRA website: The Pygmy Rattlesnake (also Pigmy) is the smallest, and one of the least known, venomous snakes in Tennessee. One subspecies, Western Pygmy Rattlesnake (S. m. streckeri), occurs along the western Highland Rim from Stewart County to the southern border. Status in Tennessee: Western Pygmy Rattlesnake is listed as Threatened by TWRA, and considered rare to very rare and imperiled by Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. Fun Facts: The tiny rattle sounds like the faint buzz of an insect and can usually be heard no farther than 3 feet. Pygmy Rattlesnakes are good swimmers.

He should have been gone a long time ago. From April of last year: National Rifle Association President Oliver North has been ousted after an alleged extortion scheme within the group’s highest-ranking officials came to light on Friday. In a statement, North told the organization he was “informed” he would not be nominated for reelection. North’s term ends Monday. The NRA’s chief executive, Wayne LaPierre, wrote a letter to the board Thursday accusing North of plotting to remove him from the group by threatening to release to the board “damaging” information about LaPierre. He claimed North, a former Marine Corps lieutenant colonel perhaps best known for his role in the Iran-contra affair, was pressuring him to resign over alleged financial transgressions. “Delivered by a member of our Board on behalf of his employer, the exhortation was simple: resign or there will be destructive allegations made against me and the NRA,” LaPierre wrote in the letter, which was published Friday by the Wall Street Journal. North continued his resignation letter by saying he believes the NRA should establish a committee to review the organization’s finances, which he said constitute a “clear crisis” that “needs to be dealt with” if the NRA wants to continue to be a viable organization. The Wall Street Journal reported that North, who became NRA president last year, defended himself in a letter to the board Thursday, indicating his actions were “for the good of the NRA.” North previously wrote a longer letter to the board’s executive committee, alleging LaPierre had made more than $200,000 of wardrobe purchases and charged them to a vendor. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/04/27/nra-chief-wayne-lapierre-claims-hes-being-extorted-by-oliver-north-hes-standing-his-ground/
