What to do with inherited muzzle loaders?
xsubsailor replied to ezrydr's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
The value of used muzzleloaders are determined almost entirely by the condition of the bore. They're a pain to clean so many have very rusty bores and the fact that you can't "see" through them makes it hard to determine the condition. -
Firearms maker Remington Outdoor Co. has agreed to sell its ammunition business out of bankruptcy to South Carolina-based investment firm JJE Capital Holdings LLC for $65 million plus the assumption of liabilities, subject to better offers. The JJE offer came in the form of a stalking-horse bid, setting a floor on the sale price for Remington’s ammunition business, which the company has been marketing while in chapter 11. Remington filed for bankruptcy protection in July and has been open to selling its ammunition and firearms operations to pay off its debt. The proposed deal outlined in papers filed Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Decatur, Ala., covers the design and manufacturing of ammunition sold under the Remington and Barnes Bullets brands and includes production facilities in Arkansas and Utah. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/remington-agrees-to-sell-ammunition-business-including-barnes-bullets-for-65-million/

I couldn't find the thread about a teacher spotting a BB gun in the background of her virtual class but here's another one. A 12-year-old boy in Colorado got a five-day suspension for flashing a toy gun across his computer screen during an online art class, according to a report. https://www.foxnews.com/us/12-year-old-suspended-after-teacher-spots-toy-gun-during-virtual-class

Just another small reason to doubt the numbers: A Tennessee woman died six months ago, but that didn’t stop the Shelby County Health Department from sending her a letter notifying her that she tested positive for the Chinese coronavirus and needed to self-quarantine, her bewildered son said Thursday. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/09/04/tennessee-woman-who-died-6-months-ago-receives-letter-claiming-she-has-coronavirus/

I'm a Glock fan and owner but I don't think Glock and beauty belong in the same sentence.

I didn't even know this thread existed . My turkey legs. Smoked Turkey Legs Ingredients For the brine: 1 gallon water 1 cup salt ½ cup brown sugar 3 tablespoons garlic powder 3 tablespoons onion powder 3 tablespoons dried thyme 3 tablespoons dried sage 1 1/2 tablespoons black pepper 1 teaspoon ground cloves 1 teaspoon ground allspice 1 tablespoon paprika 1 teaspoon liquid smoke You'll also need: turkey legs Smoking wood chips (hickory) Combine all of the ingredients for the brine in a large pot and bring to a boil. Let cool to at least room temp. Rinse the turkey legs and place in a container, with brine, that you can cover. Place legs in frig and let brine overnight. Remove legs from brine, rinse really good, dry, and set aside. Start the smoker and bring it up to about 230-240. Smoke for 4-6 hours until you get an internal temp. of about 170.

You just don't know what to believe anymore The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a new report detailing how many COVID-19 deaths in America also involved other underlying health conditions. According to the report, only 6% of the COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. list COVID-19 as the only cause of death. 94% of COVID-19 deaths involved at least one other underlying health condition, and on average involved "2.6 additional conditions or causes of death." https://disrn.com/news/new-cdc-report-says-94-of-covid-deaths-had-underlying-conditions

Every time I go to the Navy Base I hope I'll get stopped for one of their spot vehicle searches. I'd really like to know what's in there and I'm too lazy to do it myself

First the onions, now the peaches. Wonder what it's going to be next month A salmonella outbreak linked to peaches has been reported across nine states and two provinces in Canada, officials say. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a food safety alert over recalled peaches supplied from Prima Wawona and Wawona Packing Company. https://www.foxnews.com/health/cdc-salmonella-outbreak-peaches

All they have to do is delay the votes ( mail in ballots ) until Jan. 20. and this will take place. You have to remember who has control of Congress and worry about which way Roberts will flop in SCOTUS. Just about everything in SCOTUS is decided by a 5 to 4 vote and Roberts does not like Trump. Mark Levin last night was saying the the DNC has 600 attorneys ready to litigate the results of the election, most of whom have volunteered their services.

President Trump plans to hold a news conference Sunday evening regarding a potential major therapeutic “breakthrough” for treating the coronavirus. The president will announce the development at 6 p.m., accompanied by Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and Dr. Stephen Hahn, head of the Food and Drug Administration, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany posted on Twitter late Saturday. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-to-reveal-coronavirus-breakthrough-therapeutic-wh-press-secretary-says
