  1. previous search results: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8224&highlight=Gun+Cases Here's my situation. Long time family hunting rifles that my mom doesn't want in her house have to go. So while skiing in Utah in Feb, I'm going to get these guns and bring them home to TN. Now I've asked about how many guns and she says there are about 5, 4 long guns (2 shotguns/2 rifles w/scopes??) and one pistol. My question is what would you guys do for preparing this transport? i.e. what cases are going to be best for this one time transport and which are most affordable? Buy now and ship cases to the house in Utah, or get there and take my chances on finding a case? Here are a couple different links, anyone have thoughts on these. Sams still has their link active: http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item_nbr=738731&landing=738731 But then there is this one: http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=120349&pCatg=10240 Thanks for the help, I'll make sure to post all the pics of my..soon to be...collection!
  2. I've been looking at a couple different 1911's and have come to a conclusion. Spend the extra money up front!! I had to get my hands on a couple different types to understand the quality and difference of each. One small example....a Springfield that i picked up had lower sights that were not removable. (Or without a gunsmith and $) On the other hand the Kimber Custom TLE II has most of the mods that which I would've liked to have on my Springfield. The sights are dovetail-mounted and interchangeable. I do give credit to Franklin Gun Shop for letting me peruse the 1911 case and giving me the 101 course. Since I found this site my expensive impulse purchasing is down by 75%.
  3. Your a snake charmer!!!!
  4. I'm soon to follow your lead on a new 1911!!!!
  5. "Due unto others....." I think we've all been in a place where someone needed a hand. It's nice to give back.
  6. Awesome....I appreciate the help....now I'm trying to get to 50 posts so I can pay it forward to someone who can use it.
  7. The sticker on the front is worn away, unreadable. I would like to know what this is before i try to pay it forward. Thanks in advance!!
  8. Any words on the Walther? That makes a perfect addition to my collection/gathering. I don't know if I'll make it till march....the slush fund is about to get blown. Hurry!!
  9. If any one is willing to part with a 1911 I would consider a FTF in Franklin. Maybe a place that has an indoor range....hmm...Uselton's. After a purchase you may use the range, for free, to try out the new purchase. ....to see the looks on their faces if this happened!!!
  10. Okay...Okay.....Okay!!! That really was a noob question!! I engaged the fingers before the brain!!! Any chance that I can apologize for my stupidity? I wish to contribute rather than hinder the efforts. thanks

  12. You can't shoot reloads at this indoor range!! I'm confused!!
  13. Vendors are definitely playing the hype. This would be great opportunity to be a vendor if you had the supply. There was an entreprenuer/desparate couple who rented out a table and put their whole safe on a table. It was funny when the wife said "It's been tough going the past couple of months." Even though they didn't have any deals, they seamed to be on the right track......buy low....sell high!!!!!
  14. I'll be there looking for an AR-10. Maybe some other good deals along the walls?
  15. I thought you all might want to take a look at this link....http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm I haven't had enough time to get the full details..therefore determine if it's:poop: or real.
  16. I was half expecting to hear a voice breathing into a mask, "We have positive ID, are we cleared hot?"
  17. I heard that TSA will be at all malls starting Jan 09.
  18. Head to the nearest bowling alley to pick up a couple old pins. Be careful at close range;)
  19. The family has finally departed and what a strange trip it was. On my way to the airport(BNA) from Franklin there must have been about 6 cop cars with people pulled over. Then at the airport they had another watching the stop signs. Once the family was safe at the airport we returned and saw another 3 cars pulled over. All the cars were undercover type. What a strange coincidence that the year is coming to an end:screwy:
  20. If the military or the police draw their weapon, they intend to use it. For me I think the same, when i put a clip in at the range...the zombie is most likely going down!!!!!
  21. MM, I'm an owl hollow user and have collected a couple hundred rounds of just about everything. Just drop me a line, I'd be honored to reload a couple rounds with ya!!!
  22. My last trip to Dicks, pre-xmas, was funny to see a Barby Doll come along and read off her list......."I need 4 boxes of....9...milli..meter, and 4 boxes of 45 otto!!!"
  23. IMHO, starting with a single stage press is the best way to go. I found a single stage RCBS attached to a bench at my in-laws house. It came with all the trimmings for reloading, ie scale, trays, powder funnel. All I had to add was a new book and set of dies for my .50ae. After using a single press a couple hundred times you'll want to switch to a turret style. The time to switch will happen due to boredom, or for faster gratification.
  24. Cool pics!!! I might have to get into the metal stamping trade. What if they tried to push this on all existing guns. That would be a huge mess:rolleyes:
  25. Now that you brought up washing a gun.....a dishwasher, really:screwy:????(noob) I thought just a pot of hot water. A little help wouldn't hurt.......Thanks.
