  1. I was so excited about my new M1 purchase that I was on my way to the range with a box of commercial 30-06. I'm glad that I stopped to lurk around the forums before I went. I read that the pressures/burn rates of todays loads are much different, so I didn't go shooting that day. That info saved me from bending the op rod. So my suggestion is to search as many sites as possible. I found that the Remington LR primers worked fine, no slam fires. I'm hesitant to use the softer Winchester LR because of potential slam fires. If I'm incorrect about this, someone please correct me. By the end of my first day firing, I was keeping all the shots inside a 12" plate at 100yds. Have fun and get to a long range.
  2. Finally some primers in stock!!!! 4 of 21-0757 CCI Per 1000 Primers SMALL RIFLE @ $25.99 each In stock-Approx delivery Wed 1/06
  3. Stop asking......I'm not selling my right foot!
  4. I think I've got it all setup for the boot situation. I'll be in Gregory S. Dakota, Thursday-Sunday. I'll take some pics for thread.
  5. Would there be a way to post available ammo at various locations around TN. ie. Walmart>Cool Springs>ammo>yes/no(price) This might be cumbersome to set up and maintain, however, it would probably stop most people from calling all the stores everyday. Which from a productivity angle, management of those stores would probably like to see the number of phone calls drop. Well, how does TGO benefit from this effort. If a system was in place, ie everyone who fields a call at the numerous locations, would then tell callers about this site and that the inventories are updated frequently. Call volume should lessen, and TGO traffice rises. Just my rambling on. Hope I can help in the future.
  6. Dick's in Cool Springs just received a bunch of .380's. The guy said around 5 cases! I left a couple for ya'll. Remington(100ct) UMC .380 88gr JHP = $44.99/box Remington(50ct) UMC .380 95gr MC = $18.99/box There was a bunch of other calibers, but the guy was swamped and wasn't able to put on the shelves.
  7. I'm not deer hunter this season, so off to South Dakota for my first pheasant hunt. I'm hoping that the 3 roosters/day limit will be enough.
  8. Simple but my first plinker, 10/22. It was quality, accurate, and fun!! Wish I didn't have to pay over $200 for another one right now.
  9. Still there! Wish I hadn't blown all the funds:)
  10. Thanks guys!! I full length sized ~40 and loaded them with 46gr of H4895 and 150gr bt. We'll see what happens now.
  11. Thanks for the heads up on the pressures. I will comply. With that being said, can I use these garand reloads in my bolt rifle?
  12. I appreciate the info. Now I'm just waiting to get out to the reloaders bench and pick up the necessary equipment.
  13. I just picked up my first Garand and am ready to try it out. Now the only problem is finding mil surplus ammo locally. In order to really appreciate to the fullest extent, I must shoot it lots! So, does anyone locally, Nashville/Franklin/M'boro, reload and wouldn't mind someone watching and learning a little? Any help would be great. (I've been all over the web looking, great start, but want actual hands on training) Thanks Hunter (I've been loading mostly 45/223/50ae)
  14. There are those that have and those that will. I've learned something today. Thanks.
  15. I also have the same problems with my setup, 5 of 100 are flipped. Keep us posted.

  19. Since I'm single, have no job, and am independently wealthy; I just grab one of my 5 gallon buckets, caliber of choice, and head out to shoot......wait.....(head shake)......good morning....what a dream..... I gotta go now, my wife is yelling at me because I'm late for work.
  20. Everyone says you need to work up to the "right" load. I have to agree! I'm waiting for a crono to see what I'm getting out of my first loads. This will help me understand where to settle on the "perfect" load. As for the mistakes, I've always learned from them. Have fun, and watch the clock!
  21. This is actually part of my workout gym.....
