how much would you pay for surgery for your dog?
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to Bassoneer's topic in General Chat
I am so very, very sorry to read this. There is nothing harder in the world than going through what you did today. Just know that you did the best and kindest thing you could do for your friend. And that's the biggest and best thing you can ever do. A selfless act of love. I'm so sorry for your loss. Max had the same fluid retention that you're talking about. Luckily my vet drained his bladder twice and the rest was reabsorbed during an overnight stay. She said if it happens again, we'll be in the same boat that you were. -
I don't know much about SOP or COC, but I do know it takes an ass to claim a killshot when he wasn't the only operator in the room! :)
-
That was my point. Everyone should be held to the same standard. I don't want him under the jail. I just think hiring a publicist to make a statement after is ridiculous. And I think given the fame he sought by taking credit for killing Bin Laden, he should have been a bit smarter. That's all.

Oh boy, I bet I'll get them here too. First of all, when I first read it, the story was simply DUI. Since then it has morphed to the link above. Including a publicist statement and sleeping pills. My FB post was a link to the story and the fact that I felt he was reckless and irresponsible. I said this behavior is unacceptable of a "hero". Instantly people started commenting about the good he's done and it could be PTSD. Just stupid things. I had one person who lost 2 family members to a drunk driver tell me I was being judgemental and without knowing the full story I shouldn't have said anything. I have personal feelings about the guy which may have influenced my harshness. I think he's 1 man who served. In a team. The team he has served with has done incredible things and I am grateful for that. But I do not admire glory whores who step out and take the full spotlight. So I really appreciate that the news story points out that he claims he had the killshot. My thought is, even if it was sleeping pills, don't take them until you're ready and home and in bed. No matter how this turns out, he shouldn't have been behind the wheel if he was under the influence of ANYTHING.

I have the 3% sticker, a US Flag, the coexist sticker with gun logos and of course a TGO sticker. Is that overkill?

I was a little surprised to see no one had posted this today. http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/08/us/bin-laden-raid-former-navy-seal-dui-case/?iid=ob_homepage_NewsAndBuzz_pool&iref=obnetwork I'm curious on thoughts. I shared mine yesterday on Facebook and had a few lashings that caused me to question why I even use it. So, what say you?

I am really sorry to read this. This is basically where we are with Max. It's a horrible situation to be in. Just try your hardest to enjoy what you have left! We don't know how long with have with Max, and when it's time, we'll let him go. In the mean time we're going to party it up and snuggle him like crazy. Good luck with Axl! -

Oh I wish my 79 was up for the trip!!! -
http://duckcanoe.net/ This is who we've rented Kayaks from in the past. It's an early morning (for me) check in. They load you in a van and drive you farther up. Takes a while to get back if you're a slow paddler. We basically just drifted the whole day and it was awesome. That was a few years ago, hope it helps!

This is so worth it! Monkey and I would love to come but he's having surgery the day before so we won't be able to attend! I hope you guys all have an amazing and safe time! I remember my first FA. Exhilarating. -

This is why I am a firm believer in getting rid of the AKC or any other kennel clubs as well. "Pure Bred" dogs have been bred into murky waters. There's incestual issues, the gene pools are getting smaller and no wonder they're prone to health issues. English Bulldogs are the best example I can think of. Not to mention the AKC and UKC do NOTHING to stop puppy mills at all because they make so much money from them. Meanwhile hundreds of thousands of dogs are euthanized each day. -

I want you to know how sorry I am for you. We just found out that our Max has a tumor wrapped around his left aorta. Given his age and how expensive it was just to get the diagnosis, we aren't pursuing it further. Chemo isn't an option and in order to have surgery he would need a cardiologist from UT or elsewhere. My vet was very blunt with me that it just isn't something that is possible. I will keep Axl in my thoughts and prayers. I hope his outcome is much better. -
You have to make sure you go into settings and turn it on too. It doesn't auto start. Mine starts at 8pm and goes until 8am. I also have it on the "warmest" setting. Call me crazy but I really think it helps!

I'm not disputing that or him being shot. Hell, he's a creep who clearly has mental issues. I was merely pointing out the media not getting the story straight about his BB gun until 10pm. Maybe they didn't know, maybe that fact wasn't released. I just don't like inaccurate information when it's a crime committed with a gun. Don't get me started on Morgan Spurlock. The man needs to be put away for quite a while and also needs psych treatment. He's clearly a man who has mental issues and the sexual predator attempts because it's "gods will" stories during his bus driving days are wacko too.
-
To me, it matters because it's not a real gun. I realize his actions were wrong. I'm not on Team Idiot here. But the buzz words of the day where shooting at Capitol. At 10 pm it's updated that he just had a BB Gun. I guess for me I'm upset with the media or whoever didn't release that fact until super late. He's an idiot for what he did. No argument there.

Belt Suggestions for IWB
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to josh.mcdonald's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Monkey has a 5.11 and I have two of the Alien Gear belts. Personally we both like our own, his has finally got to where he's out of notches, I'm trying to convince him to switch the AG but I'm 97% sure he'll stick with 5.11. -
A BB gun. A BB gun was the weapon used. I love how that part isn't released until 10pm.

UPDATE: TGO dogs for adoption!!
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to MrsMonkeyMan2500's topic in General Chat
Thank you! :) Apparently it's pretty rare. My vet and I talked about it on the phone but after hanging up I thought of more questions. One of the vets there took me back to review the ultrasound. Another vet followed because he wanted to see it. Max has always been special, but I never planned on this kind of special. It wraps around the aorta and then stretched down to the bottom part of the heart. It was very visible while the heart beat. Just a bummer day. Hence the McNuggets! :) -

This is so bad. Monkey is busy researching the tumor. Meanwhile on the way home from the vet I stop and get Max a 10 PC McNuggets. Oops! So then we stop by so Monkey can see him while he's at work and he's like "Ok, so high protein, low sugar" double oops! LOL I have some very healthy beef, bison, beef live, bison liver and other things in tube, it's pricey as all get out. That will be his main staple for now. But common! Once in a blue moon, after a kick in the stomach like that, you gotta have a treat! -
UPDATE: TGO dogs for adoption!!
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to MrsMonkeyMan2500's topic in General Chat
Well guys, the ultrasound was done. Max was sedated because he didn't want to cooperate. All of his organs looked fine, until they got to his heart. He has a mass inside of his heart on his left aorta. We don't know what that explains if anything. But we know that they can't operate on it. We're lowering his dose of prednisone and we're going to continue with his immune therapy. His red blood cells are going back up which is good. We'll fight for him to keep him happy and comfortable but when the time comes, we'll do the right thing. -
Gun Auction, Monroe County Sheriffs Dept Feb 13th 10am
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to runco's topic in Events and Gatherings
While I can't speak for the Putnam County Meth Heads Association, I can tell you they aren't the preferred junk of the law abiding citizens here. Also, for what it's worth, there was a recently posting of the 50 safest cities in Tennessee and Cookeville (the county seat of Putnam County) made the top 20. :) Edit: I don't live in Cookeville nor Putnam county. But we do have a Cookeville address. I've seen way less crime here than I did in my 14 years of Nashville. So I'm sorry, but I feel the need to defend it, despite the drug users. Because 1 look at WKRN this morning and the top 5 stories are murders and shootings all over north and east Nashville and Madison too. -

I don't even know if I believe in Karma anymore. Feels like we've been kicked in the gut! And finding the birdshot in his pelvis yesterday. Oh I was so angry. It happened before Max and I found each other, but how dare whoever that was. We still have 2 fosters Red and Liz and I believe Liz has found a home, contract pending. So while there is good things happening and having the little babes around helps, it is still a bit painful. But I love that you name your dogs after food!! LOL I give all mine goofy human names! -

Oh Hozzie! I am so so so sorry to read that!! My best boy was put to sleep 2 years ago this July, after 14.5 years he just couldn't do it anymore. He would have held on forever if he could, but I refused. We had a vet come over and it was very peaceful by the flower garden. This little turd is different. He's little but he is a fighter through and through. Whatever is wrong, won't stop him. He's enjoying getting to sleep with us and his new special diet. I'm hopeful we can figure it out, but I'm prepared to send him to heaven if it just becomes too much. I don't believe in allowing dogs to suffer for our comfort. The thing is, with the loss of our girls, I just don't want to lose another one this year. That's the hard part. I'm so sorry to hear about Kennedy. I'm so sorry for your loss. We're staying home with the pups. I think we are going to miss the big celebration at our friends. However I will be making Ruebens so we won't suffer. There might be a trip to the vet today to help drain his bladder too. We'll see how he does. Thanks for your kind words. Happy Easter to you and yours!
