That's a beautiful build! I wish we could do another buy like that again. I actually got the upper and lower and we built a great AR for me. Light, easy to use and comfortable for me. Great job!

For myself, I have chose to only comment in certain things because in my opinion, honestly, subjects of a certain nature cause some really ugly conversations. I read threads sometimes and I want to contribute, but then I stop because I know certain members will disagree and then to have to debate back and forth for a simple idea or thought is just not worth it. Also, while I share the views of many of you, I've noticed that certain people have gotten ridiculous on certain posts and it's just not worth associating myself with a thread when I feel like it's borderline hateful. On the bright side, met another member today. Monkey and I were both happy to get to stop and talk to him for a bit. But for me, I'm selective on what I discuss or participate in.

I've done it twice on here and I'm willing to bet good money I know you you blocked! In fact I want to guess so bad!! But I won't. Comms was one of mine, he got booted. The other one I'm not sure!?!? LOL Blocking is best. And if you blocked who I think you did, then I am ALMOST there with you!

Gauging Interest - TGO Logo Stainless Steel Tumbler
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Yesterday I asked Monkey if he wanted one when they came up. He said "oh no, I got my Wesco mug, I'm ok." It was a mug my aunt gave him when we last visited Michigan. He's weird like that. So I ordered 2 of the 30 oz thanks to Sidecarist last night. I told him I ordered myself one. Instantly he says, you got me one, right? I denied it and he was instantly remorseful of his answer earlier that day. So I came clean. I had to before he jumped on and ordered himself one. BTW, he ordered a tee shirt and didn't get me one. Can't wait to get these! -

Late to the game but Monkey needs a new mug. So please someone PM when when this happens. I'm pre-senile. I'll for sure forget. -
I was gonna put good money on pierced nips! Guess it's just chilly there!

UPDATE: TGO dogs for adoption!!
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to MrsMonkeyMan2500's topic in General Chat
Thanks Hozzie, apparently we're just meant to have dogs that are worth more than cars and things. At this point between him and Max alone we could've bought a new tractor. LOL He's back to high energy puppy craziness so keeping him calm and contained is the main issue now. But I'll take that over him being ill! -
UPDATE: TGO dogs for adoption!!

Well, we had an eventful weekend. We planned to buy a car for Monkey's mom this weekend. Saturday we went to the vet with our Labaweiner Max to get his blood checked (he's 12 and has an auto immune disease). Jack, the little foster was ill for the past two weeks and antibiotics weren't helping. They took X-rays and come to find out, the little guy had a major issue with his small intestine. It was causing a blockage by obstucting itself. 1 surgery and 3 days later we have a recovering pup and no car. LOL His chances were not the best but we went for it. I'm glad we did. A couple thousand later and he's sassy and rambunctious as ever! The every 2 hour feedings is the hard part. 7 days to go, wish us luck! -
That's why I like Shiner Cheer! Wish it was available year round!

Monkey said that sounds good but he'd like another bottle of that Weller!! ;-)

I personally choose the Alien Gear reinforced belt. But be careful when ordering. I didn't read the size guide properly and got smaller belts than what I needed. But I did get them much fast than 6 weeks.

First and foremost, I'm really sorry that you're facing this. It's a tough decision. But faithful friends is amazing, Trek is right. When Monkey and I first got together, his big, huge, lovebug of a Rottie had a heart attack right in front of me while I was home alone. Monkey made it home, but I had called out vet and they recommended Faithful Friends. They were very kind and sweet. They sent someone within the hour to pick him up and take him to be privately cremated. It was $250 because Buddy weighed 160. It included a basic plastic white urn. He's now in a Jack Daniels Singel Barrel Box. Very fitting. When I made the decision 2 years ago to let my boy Bailey pass, I wanted it done at home in the garden and not in the vet's office. There's an excellent mobile vet that we used. She charged $450 but that includes cremation and a pretty wood box. Her name is Dr. Childs and she and her tech were patient and gracious while I said goodbye. tel:16157990616. I would highly recommend them. Whatever you decide, good luck. It is a very hard process.

Haha! Never!! Except maybe my 21sf. I hate it. I've never disliked shooting a gun so much. But you'll be hard pressed to ever see me list my others! Besides we have a no selling rule in this house. We keep everything. Everything. Monkey's only request.

I just might. I'm returning to work soon. I landed a pretty amazing job and we'll be fortunate enough to use my paycheck to pay bills and his will just be savings/fun/angry money.
-
Good point. I guess it was genuinely just a want/desire to have (pardon the pun) a piece of Michigan.

I actually have a crap ton of 10 mm and my 29 is my EDC that I AIWB, I carry 2 extra mags. I also bring my 20 as my backup which has 4 mags total. So I think Jonnin is right. Adding a new caliber is just more to keep up with. My LGS has guys to buy what they like and they usually have a decent selection of 10mm. Monkey and I just talked and he said that he thinks I just want a gun and advised if I get one stick with one of our calibers we use. Crazy thing is I still haven't test fired my NiB-X 17 I got a few months back. So I think I'm going 10mm 1911. The DPD .40 is mostly sentimental and it's an amazing price but I think I'm going for a bigger bang and getting a RIA. Thanks guys!

I actually started shooting with a SA 1911 in .45, Black Betty. Monkey thinks I am nuts for naming my guns, but they're like cars in my opinion. I love the feeling of a 1911, but I also love the feeling of my Glocks. So it's a tough call! I just saw the price and the DPD unissued and got a wee bit teary eyed. It was like Tim Allen doing a Pure Michigan commercial in my head. LOL What are your hands like? I ask that because I have semi-medium/large hands. Blame the german heritage. My 29sf fits great, my 20 gen 4 fits even better. I might need to go to the LGS for a feel before deciding. I have to stay out of that place. They have 2 1911's right now that I am desperately wanting. A Sig Spartan and a Dan Wesson. So it's a dangerous place for me to go without an adult to hold the wallet. Last time I went I came home with 2 boxes.

I need thoughts and opinions on this. As you know I really love my 10mm. A LOT. As in I carry my 20 and 29 as edc's everyday. Both. Always with me. But my birthday is coming up and I have found a DPD unissued M&P .40 with night sights for $399. As a Michigander, it'd sentimental even if I don't care for the east side of the state much. I already know that I don't NEED this gun. But, I think at that price it is almost a can't resist. As a huge glock person, which I am, am I going to hate it? Will I love it? Or should I shut up and get a RIA 1911 in 10mm instead? Both options will really only be range guns. I don't see myself using either as an EDC. But it's been about 4 months and I have the itch to add. Especially with the birthday around the corner. Advice is greatly welcomed.

Meh, smack some super glue on it and chug a beer. You'll be fine in the morning. You're a tough guy ;)

I will be visiting soon. It's been since January I think. I'm out of the excellent wine he recommended so I need to go restock since no one here has it. My boozer family is coming to town so what better place to stock up? lol

UPDATE: TGO dogs for adoption!!
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to MrsMonkeyMan2500's topic in General Chat
Me too Bersa, was he a Chinese crested terrier? I've always wanted one! DT, we're doing well, thanks for asking! Cooper is doing really well. Worm free finally. So just shots and neuter needed. Liz and Red are about to hit 4 months old and they're so different yet similar! Kai, the sweetie we found on the road is battling a skin issue with antibiotics, antihistamines and I have to bathe her every other day for 3 weeks so she hates me right now. We've had some applications for them so they might be leaving us soon. Depends on how they pan out. Fingers crossed! -
Agreed. Double standard for all groups. Which is why he stepped out into the spotlight.

The same "national hero" that children/adults look up to? It's ok honey, you can drive under the influence, after all, what's good enough for national heros is good enough for you! Oh well, this story's already off almost every news source like it never happened.
