1. My daily driver for a long time was my 79 Bronco. A mini tank. All time 4 wheel drive and the girl had oomph! Her only downfall was she wasn't super reliable. Finally I jut faced facts that she would have to be a leisure vehicle so I went car shopping. I got a Sequoia. I love it, rides great, everything about it is good. Except I made a HUGE mistake and didn't get one with 4wd. I can never leave concrete in it and in rain she is just so so. That's the only bad thing I can say about her. If I ever trade her in, which I am heavily considering, I will look at 4wd versions and just "upgrade". But having said that, the Bronco has had the engine and tranny rebuilt so I am really ready to give LaToya a break for a while.
2. That made my stomach hurt! I can't find anything on being officially canceled but it does say that without serious changes to the storyline, they won't renew it!?!? Which I kind of understand. They should ax it and bring Fringe back. Wishful thinking.
3. Well.. we did it.. again.. This is Odie, he is our latest rescue pup! Adopted him from the local shelter 3 weeks ago, we had to wait a week to have him neutered so he's only been with us for 2 weeks. This was taken the day we got him home. They said that he was an owner surrender and they were told it was Lab/Pit mix. He looking nothing like a lab, I do see the possibility of Pit and I am thinking some sort of hound mixed in. His ears are absolutely ridiculous! They are starting to stand straight up now. Which is pretty hilarious. Way to skinny, so he needed to stay warm. He has since been fattened up and gained about 10 lbs. He is happy now! Here are some snow pictures too, this is the gang out romping around, I can share it, now that it's gone. Thank god. This is Floyd being a creeper across the pond, which froze totally over. Pretty awesome stuff! He's a total babe! 4. This is a pet peeve of mine. I feel so bad for people when it comes to dental issues. I have worked in the field for 5 years. I have done sales my whole life and have no problem asking for big checks when it comes to transactions. When I stepped into dentistry that all changed. There is nothing like seeing someone in pain, with a limited budget. We are so behind on dental care in this country it is ridiculous.    I hope everything worked out OK for you!
5. It was nice talking with you tonight! I try to give Monkey his space and not use this often, but when I do, I will stop by and say hello.
6.   This weeks episode was a bit lacking. This season is weird because they are diving deeper and deeper into things. I have so many suspicions and guesses as to who he really is and what he is really up to. SyFy had me, then they canceled Being Human. I vowed to boycott them. But since we are running low on material I might have to change that. We just decided to join the rest of the world and watch The Walking Dead. I don't know how I feel about that. I did however realize that I think I carried this post way off track. SORRY!!!  :puke:
7. We started this season about 1 week ago. We watched the first 3 episodes and walked. But now, being in the boonies and no cable, we broke. We binge watched it and got hooked back into it. I think this season has gone better than the last. So far. The last episode has me wondering. Really, all I care about is The Blacklist and Hannibal when it FINALLY comes back this summer.
8. To me, that show wrapped so poorly! I know they didn't have a choice because it was canceled but it just didn't fit. He should have had a bigger role, I agree but for me, John Noble was top notch. It's hard for me now to watch him on Sleepy Hollow because I highly dislike Henry/Jeremy. I wish they'd stop killing good shows. I know ratings are important but wow, there has been some quality stuff axed. Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies, Fringe.
9. Congrats on the new purchase. I told big man he should stock up on ammo, so I think I should have a crack at buying your T3i. Sounds fair, right? I'm not on here much, when you're ready to let it go, will you let MonkeyMan2500 know?
10. I'm 32, I grew up watching Nick at Nite and I was a Star Trek junkie. But as an adult, I loved him on Fringe. It was weird seeing him in a different role, he was awesome no matter what, but I couldn't think of anyone better for William Bell!
11. Not creepy, just enthusiastic?
12. Just got my TGO sticker for my truck and someone is jealous of my Shall not be infringed sticker. I won't name names but it rhymes with Schmonkey!
13. He's doing work for us in our new home. The first conversation we had was me saying hi, asking about the marines and thanking him for his service. The look of shock on his face when I said it made me sad. He told me that he rarely heard that. That just pissed me off. 2 tours, no thanks and no healthcare. I just don't get it. The more he comes to work at our house the more I just want to adopt him. I'm probably only 4-6 years older but this kid breaks my heart an not I a bad way. I've gotten to where I just want to feed him and listen to him talk. I don't see how someone in his situation can't get care. I think Monkey and I will look into trying to help him. He might just need help to get through the system.
14. First of all, congrats!! As the owner of 6, I'm super excited anytime I read or ear the word puppy or dog. I won't give advice on breed because I only have experience with mutts (we rescue) and the only pure bred we've ever had is our Am Staff rescue and a Rottweiler (clumsy but awesome). Socialization is key! I love the Franklin dog park at Harlinsdale Farm! It's amazing and everyone there is super friendly! It's too far of a drive for me now but I love it. When we got our most recent pups we were there all the time. Whatever you chose just make sure to share pics!
15. :) agreed. I Got bigger fish to fry. We close on our house tomorrow! We had the check drawn up at the bank today, she handed us the cashiers check for the full amount and you would've thought Monkey was gonna pass out. Quite comical!
16. Thank you for the info, I know what the 1st amendment is. I was merely trying to make the point that I know he is entitled to his opinions and to talk about them. That's all. I just wish there were actual facts being used. Every post has either a fact that contradicts his previous post or other inaccuracies. And I realize now, it's insane to even try to help educate or point out mistakes. Which is really why I'm washing my hands of it. But again, thank you, next time I'll try to word it better. I have an awful habit of typing this how I talk. Which is sometimes, not helpful. I think in this case I might as well just speak Klingon. It would do about as much good as English.
17. Ron, I have 6 dogs, not 6 Pit Bulls. Get your facts straight. I don't have the patience to humor you anymore. It's like trying to converse with a tree. Hard, dense and not worth it. If we both had the class, information and tact to discuss this like normal adults, I would pursue a conversation with you. But one of us is lacking that, and I don't mean myself. Unfortunately you just rely on biased media for your "facts" and websites that promote incorrect information about dogs. I truly hope you find another form of entertainment besides this. It isn't healthy to have that much anger and resentment. Life is too short. I for one am done discussing anything else with you, here, or any other post you're a part of. Clearly there's not much, if anything for me to learn from a man like you. Have a great night.
18. Congrats! My husband and I just did the same thing! Debt free and country living. We only bought 3 acres for now but we're on a mountain and by a river. Our land came with a "goat barn" but I am thinking it would make a great home for "half asses". Trying to talk my husband into that is gonna be the issue! I might have to just settle for more dogs! The man who lived there before us has an area where he had a large garden. So I am going to give that a shot this year. I'm going to attempt large flower beds as well. Keep us posted on how you do!
19. Id send them to Michigan. The unions love them, the car companies love them. It's a win/win. Hopefully there's be some lake effect snow and they'd be trapped there.
20. You just made my day! Side note: if he mentions being part German, I'm gonna find some leiderhosen (sp?) and stop at Gerst Haus for dinner before hitting 24.
21. As do you, kind sir!
22. - I'm a nerd - double tap - sorry!
23. I'm sorry to hear that!! Oh, and BTW, love your name. My favorite gun is my SA 1911 .45!
24. That made me laugh WAY to hard! I actually do not have a carry permit just yet. My BIL and SIL and I are going to go together soon. I just let Monkey watch my 6. He takes good care of me. And if we did carpool and I drove, I'd be doing more that 6 over IF I was speeding. But I try to avoid that when I have precious cargo on board.
25. - oy. 2. Double tapping nerd alert! -
