Has a small issue yesterday in Cookville!
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to bersaguy's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Honestly didn't mean anything by what I said. My friend portfolio is very deversified. I just pointed it out because the scales here are very uneven. So it was shocking to picture a group that's all. But regardless of skin color, you, your friend and your pup didn't deserve what you dealt with. Especially your pup, no girl likes to be told she's fat. Glad you're all ok. -

Agreed with AK47 part, just pure ignorance. But I am mind blown at this statement. "By the time you call police and police get there, the crime had been done," Fisher said. "I'm right there. It's my car. I can go defuse the situation faster." I am aware that it might not be convenient to have to wait 3-58 minutes depending on response time. But no matter where you are, you should always call 911. If for nothing more than to CYA! -

Monkey and I have been here for 6 months now after fleeing Nashville. I agree with him, it sounds very out of place for the area. We moved close to Cookeville, but outside of the city by about 30 minutes. I don't mean this to sound bad but I don't think I have even seen 5 black people since I moved here. It's weird to me because I grew up in a high school was 85% black and I was the minority. I've seen one guy who's a concern since I've been here but he's just a strung out white kid. Quite honestly I've never felt safer. No contributor "sales persons", no one approaching me for money or anything. As for me, I would have called the police. They have a huge concentration of officers here. Sheriffs, city police and THP. I've never drove so slow in my life. But reading this makes me thankful for my upcoming HCP class. -
Knife of the day....May 11th
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to Grand Torino's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
We were out today and talking to someone about the knives GT made for us. I whipped mine out of my bag to show the person and the look on Monkey's face was hilarious. Evidently he didn't expect me to carry it everywhere I go. But I do, it's AWESOME. -

I don't like them. I love them. They're just perfect! You did an amazing job and I am so grateful! Never suspected a gift like this from him and the fact that he managed it was great. Thank you again for your time. You did great! -

You're kind. I'm an only child! Thankfully. I don't know if it would be good to have two versions of me in the world! Besides, if you knew me 5 years ago to me today, you wouldn't believe it. I used to feel the exact opposite of how I do now about guns, knives, democrats! LOL My family in Michigan wonders what happened to the sweet little liberal they raised! Monkey has changed me, for the better. It's good to have a spouse/partner you can learn from. :-) -

I am letting it slide because my 29 is a tad bit nicer than his 29!! Hahaha! I think this year is a multiple gift year because we both tried to surprise each other. Normally we communicate about EVERY purchase but he was able to sneak money and hide it and do this purchase without me knowing and same for me buying his new Glock. Sometimes lack of communication can be pretty awesome! LOL -
So I got a cryptic message sent to me at work about my birthday present arriving today. I was very confused because I was 99.9% certain and the new Glock 29 I got on Tuesday more than covered that. Turns out Monkey was sneaky and ordered some knives from an expert you all know. He ordered them thinking they covered his birthday present and mine. Pretty right? So I now know why he was gobsmacked when I brought home his 29. I also know why he told me it was too much and how can he top it. Personally, the knife is equal to or tops it because he put thought into this and kept it from me. Which is hard to do considering I am the one who usually handles the finances so it is hard for me to not notice. ^^ Monkey's new knife above. Mine below! These knives are absolutely beautiful! I find it funny how the older I get the more I want things that I would never have asked for 10 years ago. I gotta say, I love the wood and grain on Matt's but mine feels so good in my hand that I just know to ask for wood the next time we order knives. Which we will order again, these are too awesome to not start a collection. Finally, a shot of my new Glock 29 with my awesome new knife too. I think our birthday presents this year were totally overboard when I look at them together but I gotta give him kudos for finally being able to surprise me! I just maybe should have held off on buying myself the 29. Or not. Also, a huge thanks to GT for making such beautiful knives. It reminds me a lot of my uncle. He worked long shifts at his job but when he came home from work he would make knives, they were beautiful and I always wanted one but he kept every single one he made. This makes me think of him A LOT. I love it. So thank you for making something so awesome! I appreciate all the hard work you put into it!

Very awesome trip. Next time you see Anthony tell him I love my G29. She's amazing. We almost went through all that 10mm ammo we bought. Way too much fun!! I'm also gonna take my carry permit class there on the 23rd! Pretty happy to FINALLY do that! We've gotta go back up there and get more 10mm ammo next week hopefully. It was great to meet you!

Commenter goes off on. Chan 5 over bad reporting
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to Dustbuster's topic in General Chat
This reminds me of the time we watched Phil Williams talk about the dangers of robberies with .50 caliber rifles being used in armed robberies. Cause God knows I need something some and compact to hide in my pocket until I find my victim to rob. I don't think there is a lot of respect left for most news stations. They all lean in one direction or another. But I do believe channel 5 is very sloppy with their facts especially when it comes to anything that deals with guns. -
I read that this morning. But he booked the fight knowing he was injured, so really, it's on him. What I do find ridiculous is that Mayweather only has 1 fight left on his contract and since Manny has a 9-12 month recovery time it will be too late to have a rematch with both fighters in good shape. This is why I am not a big fan of solo sports. Give me hockey any day!

Well a funny thing happened on the way to my birthday... We were going to go to Nashville today to shoot and pick up some ammo and stuff. Our very quiet road was very busy today so we checked with the neighbors and got the OK to shoot down on their property to avoid being far from home. Matt checked with a local store in Livingston on 10mm ammo and boy we got lucky in more ways than one! They had a great price on 10mm so we scrambled over there to grab some. I looked at Matt and I said, we might be in trouble. If their ammo is reasonable I am terrified their guns might be. Matt got excited because he just got someone on the phone who was nice and personable. When we walked in it was nice and I went straight for the ammo. Somehow, I am not sure how, I got side tracked and I ended up over by the gun case. Ooops! Did I mention that we bumped into a fellow TGO'er? That was fun. He helped distract Matt with conversation while I filled out paperwork for my new purchase. Long story short, I bought a lot of ammo for shooting today and I accidentally purchased a Glock 29 for myself. Because I need to make sure we don't get our 29's confused I just happened to grab one with a nickel-boron finish on the slide. Someone is jealous! I won't name names. It does rhyme with Schmonkey. Also, it was cool to meet someone from TGO too and also just really cool guys who work in the shop. We're customers for life. I did buy the gun not having shot the other 29 I got Monkey for his birthday but I did it thinking I would be ok with the recoil. Monkey was nervous but I gotta say, I LOVE IT. No regrets at all!

That face is TOO stinking cute!!!!

Boy and girl! It's a slippery slope, totally easy to end up with boyS and girlS!! :)

If only that were true! We'd be millionaires. LOL he's a stinker but he deserves it. We were talking about 10mm ammo the other night after finishing The Walking Dead and he got a bit enthusiastic. It just got gears rolling. Yesterday at 2 I decided it was gonna happen. I settled on a Glock 29 (I might have had myself in mind too) and I made it to Mt. Juliet from Cookeville in a hour, purchase in 15 minutes an back home in a hour. Good planning, a lead foot and luck. :D like I said, he's a stinker, but he deserves anything and everything.

Dentistry is medicine. There are good doctors and bad. I'd trust my dentist more than most regular doctors. But I can say that because I worked with him for 5 years and I know what kind of person he is. I've also worked for a bonkers Oral Surgeon who thought she was amazing and I would never let her touch me if my life depended on it. It's funny because we've had semi-similar issues with doctors, the last time I went under I almost passed on. Internal bleeding, massive transfusion. I'm a firm believer in research and knowing who you're seeing! That's why I will still drive 2 hours to Brentwood for my dentist. :-) I like my teeth far too much!

It took a lot not to whip someone's ass today
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
People seem to be getting worse. It's almost like a sense of entitlement that people think they can all say or do whatever they want and it doesn't matter anymore. That's not ok, especially when it's in a manner like what that man did. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Whatever his reasons, you deserve nothing but thanks and gratitude. -
I am super sorry to ask this but you're talking about something that has been plaguing our pup. Floyd is a Rottie/Pit/English Bulldog mix. He's had this weird rash that comes and goes on his back thighs. It's red and puffy. We've been told everything from bacteria infection/yeast infection and allergy. It just started in December. He's been on prednisone, cephlexian, Ketoconozole and nothing has touched it. I bathe him 2 times a week with Malasab shampoo and wipe it 2 times a day with Chlorhexidine to keep it clean. That's what seems to work best. No one can seem to figure out exactly what it is, I have taken him to 3 different vets. Do you specialize in this?? I've noticed it seems to mystify the docs who have seen him. If you know of anything we can do, or a good Doc you trust in the Plateau area or if you're in Nashville and you think you can help, I'd be happy to make an appointment. If it seems like something you might be able to help with just PM me. I'd appreciate any advise, tips or where to make an appointment if I can help the stinker.

I'm laughing way to hard as I am reading this! Then I get to the part about German women. You stinker. We aren't scary! Just fiercely protective and strong. Ask Monkey, had that happened to him, I would have blown my top and cussed gramps up one side and down the other. Maybe even given a purple nurple or had an accidental slip and fall in front of him where I accidently got his ol nads. But you made me laugh, so no PN's for you sir! Also reading my husband write the "call the law" made me forehead slap myself. Oy. -
Yuck. So sorry you had to go through that! I had both of my lower wisdom teeth removed while awake but sedated on Valium. Yeah, never again! I thought I was a tough girl. NO WAY!! Sedation is for sure the way to go for any extractions. But, as for the doc, sometimes things just don't go as planned. If he didn't complete it, hopefully you weren't billed by him. Hopefully you were given a consent form that explained possible issues that can arise too. But I think that's poor form for the dental assistant to have to be the one to explain it to you. Very poor form. Get to feeling better soon!

Whew, they add up quickly! Our pack is big, but we don't plan on kids. She's beautiful!! Congrats!

Any of you do handyman work professionally?
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
When we sold our home in Crieve Hall recently we had a handy man come out and do quite a bit for us. He was very decently priced, tile work was beautiful and he did it pretty quickly. He's a talker but if you keep it to a just answering questions it's ok. His company is called Maintenance Magic. -
Beautiful!! Mine was a special order out of Louisville back when the original owner ordered her. She came with her original 351M engine which has since been rebuilt by Shacklett in Nashville. They did an amazing job! She is a beast now, especially after getting her tranny rebuilt too. She's super loud (I love it) but her ride is actually pretty good. I love seeing other 78/79 FSB's! They're few an far between sadly!! When she bit the dust the first time, I was ready to sell her. When the tranny went, I told Monkey to get her out of my site. It hurts to see something you love in a bad way. Both times he ignored me and had her fixed. Yesterday we rode around all afternoon in her. I barely spoke. It just feels good to drive her. I have a great man for never listening to me about selling her. Toy, DD or just general awesome vehicle, she's a family member. Forever.

The crazies are out in force fueling the fire
MrsMonkeyMan2500 replied to TacoBubba's topic in General Chat
When it started we went online for 5.56 and ordered 1,000 rounds. The next day they already raised it $40 for the same amount. Pure ridiculousness. -
Sadly, you're probably right. We watched it tonight and laughed a lot. I laughed at how many "Wilsons" he had.
