  1. I do! But I cannot legally have it in my possession on a public road on my person. I didn't bring it with me because of that very reason. Granted where we live it might not matter but I'm a stickler for the rules. Especially if they involve laws and potential jail. I'm not skinny enough for horizontal stripes and orange just doesn't look good on anyone. Plus I am not into getting a new girlfriend. So I carry my knife. Trust me, lesson majorly learned. No stopping ever again, from now on crazy dog lady opens door for pup and hits the gas. Also, HCP class in a few days. I just saw a dog, as a pup mom of 7, instinct just told me to stop. My husband has already ripped me a new one and given me "the look". I won't do it again. Pinky swear. :-)
  2. Birds I don't really think I would have an issue with. 4 legged creatures on the other hand! Now if it's one I don't have to care for, that's different. We have the option to buy half a cow. If I don't see it until it's packaged, I am ok. But I guess it's kinda like a deer right? You send it somewhere and they butcher it for you? Oh I would miss Ferdinand, but I would love a farm fresh filet!
  3. I'm revealing myself here, but we had them in my home town in Michigan. I loved them! They had one in Nashville and a 7-11 but those went away fairly quickly after I arrived. I would kill for a slurpee!
  4. I was thinking of GT too as soon as I started reading. I carry my GTK in my purse. I need to find a way to clip it so I can wear it. It's amazing.
  5. I haven't seen a Denny's in 15+ years! Waffle House is kinda like a Dollar General while Denny's is like Target.
  6. I had a very interesting interaction on Saturday. I was coming home from work and a beautiful dog was in the middle of the road. I stopped to check for collar and help her. I was literally a mile from home. A car pulled up an stopped behind me and the man yelled "grab her". Turns out he was her owner. He reaked of booze and he offered her to me. Long story short the offer of the dog turned into him telling me to follow him back to his house to "talk about it". At that moment I went into defense mode and getting back into my truck and getting home to my big mean monkey. I still feel AWFUL for leaving the dog but I knew I was safer getting the hell out of there. I at least wanted back to my truck to get my knife. Our closest neighbor luckily came up behind him which broke the tension enough for me to leave. I'm looking forward to being able to carry my 29 on me at all times no matter what soon. He may have been totally harmless but I would have felt totally different had I been able to have it with me. I would have also not had to have the look and talk with Monkey about leaving my vehicle. LOL
  7. I spent my early 20's at Steak and Shake. Frisco Melt with Fries and Slaw. The best hangover prevention in the world! I personally like their style!!
  8. I applaud you for being able to do it! We have a neighbor starting that. She got me into chickens. Monkey and I are building a coop but we are just planning on using for eggs to start. My problem is I would name the bacon seeds and calves. Once there's a name attached it's here for its natural life. Hell, I named the neighbors mule down the street.
  9. No way, the instructor is why I am going where I am. If I'm the only girl than I guess that's just what I'll have to deal with. I feel better now knowing what I do. I'll get more practice in this week and be fine! I hope... :-)
  10. To be honest, he should be proud of me. I have 2 of my own, so I really don't need his. BUT! His is a 6-speed manual and I can drive it like a boss. I don't like to, it kills my knees, but I can. I'd rather take the top off my bronco and drive that though. And he isn't allowed to drive that because every time he does, something breaks. LOL
  11. Hahahahahahahaha! Yeah right... That's cute!! :-)
  12. Thanks! I started thinking last night about it and I probably will. As for the woman part, where we live I will be shocked if there's another one in the class. But maybe there will be. Either way it just gives me a chance to look awesome in front of some dudes (power of positive thinking). Practice will make perfect, eventually. I am smart enough to know that the only thing in my way at this point is me and my overthinking. Hipower, I liked your story. I won't be super fancy. I'm taking mine with my 1911. I was thinking about using what will be my CCW but I'm sticking with Betty (guns are like cars to me). She's more comfortable and I think I'll do best with what I've shot since I started. Thanks everyone!
  13. Hey meow! That's purdy! Your tires look a lot like MM's!
  14. Well guess I am a douche bag. I have done it while driving the Monkey Mobile. BUT only when someone is so close to me that I feel like I owe them a copay. Plus I just like the sound of the turbo when you stomp it. My Bronco is still a better vehicle than the MM but the MM allows me instant satisfaction. I'm a lead foot most of the time so if you're on my butt, something is wrong.
  15. I actually used some recently. We've gone target shooting 2 times in the last two weeks and I had some in hot pink (lame, yes) and they were dinky. I'm a pretty decent shot, when I don't talk a lot of smack to myself and get myself worked up. There's my problem. Practice and calming down. I will work on that this week. The Middle of the target is where I am ok. So now that I know score and rounds and distances I think I will be ok. Thanks again.
  16. THANK YOU! That makes me feel better knowing a small part like that. I'm going to go down the hill and practice this week before the class.
  17. I tend to over think a lot. My brain is "different". Monkey just found a similar question from 2012 and we are laughing at the answers! I just don't like to fail or be bad at things. I also more than ever want my HCP. I know they changed the test a while back so that messes with me too. Thanks for your thoughts!! :)
  18. As a person who cannot eat Gluten, I just want you to know you made my stomach sad. The picture alone is evil. I do still wish you luck in finding this ridiculously delicious looking confection. It is probably magical.
  19. I am taking my HCP Class next week. I'm taking it with someone who has a lot of knowledge about guns, he's smart and enthusiastic to share it too. I know I am covered there. But I need to know, how hard is it? My husband says "it's so easy a dumb monkey could do it". The choice of words alone shows I cannot trust him, because he's trying to make me feel ok. He's had his permit FOREVER. He also likes to sugar coat things for me. Maybe I worry too much. Maybe it's simple. But if you have taken it recently, I'd love your opinion. I hate tests in general. I'm good with sitting and listening & learning. Great, actually. But I am nervous about the tests. And, I've only shot in public a few times. Usually I just shoot with Monkey in a field. It's laid back, just for practice and fun. Plus let's be honest, I'm betting I'm the only woman in the class. So I feel like there's added pressure there when we go to shoot. Am I a nerd and over thinking this or will it suck and be as bad as I think it will?
  20. We went on Sunday last year, it was nice and probably not as crowded but a lot of people depart after Saturday from what we were told. I have to work tomorrow so sadly we can't catch it until Sunday if we go. What disappointments me is that there aren't a lot of trucks or SUV's. I own a 79 Ford Bronco and it's a bummer that the bigger (and more awesome) vehicles aren't represented well. JMHO, but it's still an awesome show!
  21. Just got mine today! Can't wait to wear it around and see where it's best worn. Going to my HCP class next Saturday, so I'm really excited to have everything I'll need once I get my permit! Nervous about the class because I'm sure it will be me and a bunch of dudes. :-/ I think this means Monkey and I need some more range time between now and then.
  22. I died laughing so hard at this. He was upset in the pool I made fun of him. He's a tough guy until you mess with his vinyl collection or blues music. Oh the stories I could tell! But I still have to tease him! I got keep him in line somehow! ;-)
  23. Calm down Nancy, I'll stop and get a bottle of bourbon for you on the way home from work. You can turn all the lights off in the living room. We'll light a candle and you can have a vinylpalooza. I'll just be out on the pool. :-D
