  1. We got them for the purpose of eggs. I'm not dumb. They'll die, some sooner than later. But in the meantime, I'm going to treat them humane and give them a good life. Cause that's just what I feel is right! I think we're in the same boat! I don't have all of them named. The ones that aren't just get called ma'am, girl or lady. LOL
  2. I didn't think a rebel like you would have rules!! ;-) I'm a bit jealous of your vehicle though. I would be stickers on windows only with that!
  3. I'm in a Sequoia as well! I haven't had issues with stickers at all. My TGO is doing good. I had a Black Abbey on there for a long time an it held up well. In fact it was a nightmare to get off! Have you had issues with your back latch gate at all? Just curious. It seems to be a well known issue in Sequioas and we've have tons of issues with mine.
  4. Regardless of where it is, it's still awesome! Glad you like it! Mine is smack dab in the middle of my back window. Monkey actually asked for one too. It's next to his TGO sticker.
  5. My neighbor had guineas and chickens. She's actually the one who gave us the 10 we've started with. Hers hop their fenced enclosure all the time. They wander and then hop back in. For me, the Hawks and vultures out where we live make me lean towards chicken tractors. I just don't want to risk it. I know I have to prepare myself for deaths, but I'd like to prevent them as best as I can. I'm quite attached already, most have been named. I ordered supplies on Amazon for water nipples so we're gonna work on the buckets tomorrow. Thanks for all the input and advice!!
  6. Ha! I love it, the struggles of adding more! I want to buy a new 1911 that I found at a local shop an Monkey wants to finish building an AR. Oh the struggle!!
  7. You stated that a lot nicer than I would have, sarcasm or not.
  8. Your coop is amazing. I have coop envy. MAJOR coop envy. This is why I need him to surrender te big shed. Oh, by sharing those pics you have so inspired me and created a headache for him!! LOL And for the record I meant soup! I do have a soul! LOL dang auto correct. GT, I don't use recipes :-/ I just usually throw everything in and mix. Then it's all tasting until it is perfect. I have a large well fed man usually standing over my shoulder offering tasting assistance! As for the candied bacon... Wow, it's great! Wrights bacon, put it on a baking rack and cover it in brown sugar and bake it! I got the combo idea when we ate at Bricktops. So. Dang. Good. We always put Melinda's habanero sauce on top. Sweet, salty and spicy. It can't be beat!
  9. The top of the coop is covered in wire. That will hopefully keep them out. The Chicken Tractors made me laugh super hard but I love that idea!! That's next. Then stealing the big shed for the adt coop. I think I have him bribed by the offering of ducks! GT, I make mean deviled eggs with candied bacon! No soul though! We're in this for the eggs.... For now.... ;-)
  10. We'll actually have heaters in the winter. We have electric run out to the pond for the old pump. Since we aren't using that, he's gonna pull it back to the barn. I do like the idea of rain barrel and gutters! This is coop.0 there's a larger shed on the property that I'm hoping to convince him to make the "adult" coop and use this one as a nursery. Eventually. I want ducks too. Besides, that's a fall project. It's too dang hot now!
  11. You gotta change that train of thought there!! Go buy another one and tell her it's just like yours, but special, for her. I bought my husband a Glock 29 for his birthday. Without shooting it, I knew I liked it was to much. Two weeks later I got one for myself, to not take his. Because I would have wanted to. It's hard to trick women, but if done right, I bet you can make it look like a special present, you know, because you love her!
  12. Bravo! Well said, I like you!
  13. Too populated! Give me woods and seclusion! Besides, we just moved 6 months ago. Twice. Not doing it again! I've only been to Memphis once. I was much younger. We went to see Graceland. When we got there we rode past it 3-4 times because we couldn't see it. I guess we were expecting the house to be bigger? We saw it, laughed and went and got food! Fun road trip. I'll never go back to Nashville. Ever.
  14. Congrats on the adoptions! I can't even imagine how hard fostering is. To meet them, get to know them and the let them go. I always wanted to do it, but it's really hard with 7 of our own. We have the space, but the 7 have a pack mentality. They accept small dogs or puppies but they get defensive if a large dog is around. It's hard. Whatever you and your wife decide to do, just know how awesome you both are for what was just done! I admire you both for it.
  15. I heard it is lovely there, this time of year!
  16. I'll get there. Sooner rather than later. Our neighbor across the river got me these for my birthday to get me started. Monkey converted an old goat barn on the property into a coop. It's awesome and there's tons of room in there for more!!
  17. They could be the same "good boys" who were involved in the murder of a 15 year old in North Nashville. It wouldn't surprise me.
  18. I was shocked at the 17 and 18 year old suspects. I mean at 17 and 18, never in my life would committing ANY crime have popped into my head. Let alone breaking into a gun shop! It blows my mind.
  19. This is 1,000,000% true. We left Nashville in the dust and moved to the country. Anytime I have to go to town for anything I dread it. For some reason there seems to be people in Cookeville who have the mentality that they're in Beverly Hills and better than everyone. It's amazing to me. There's also just a lot of dumb idiots too. You can never escape them, no matter how hard you try!
  20. That's about the only way you'd ever get me to drive a jeep and even then I would still prefer the Hellcat Charger. Sorry, just a loyal Bronco girl. But I'm not allowed to own fast things. I would get into trouble financially from having to pay too many tickets.
  21. I still haven't received it yet, it's only been 2 days but I'm itching to do the Wally Walk! LOL ok not really but I'm just excited to know its approved! I always renew in person. That way a photo is taken. I always hope it's better, but they never are. My best was was when my license was cracked so therefor "voided" ( who knew? ) and I had a flight to Chicago. Messy hair and eyeline and I felt like a supermodel when I saw the pic. I'm dreading what my HCP photo will look like!
  22. Seriously thought it was a peeping Tom, turned around, just a wood pecker. Hilarious yet in the moment my BP shot up! So glad we moved! Ha!!
  23. I love birds. Since we've moved up to Jackson County I have tons of them. We have 6 feeders on our property and tons of cardinals (my favorite). We have suet, seed, you name it! But ever since that pesky peeping Pecker, I have a hard time caring about them. But we have tons of them here and they are quite gorgeous! My new favorite though is a tufted Titmouse! Talk about adorable!
  24. Totally not on topic but your dpost made me angry. I hate wood peckers! When we lived in crieve hall, our house was a ranch in the front but the backside was over the garage so two stories. One morning I woke up an went into the office to pay bills. The back window never had blinds on it. I wasn't quite fully dressed when out of the blue I heard "tap, tap, tap" I covered myself, screamed and looked and it was a damn wood pecker. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I have since forgiven them and still feed them at the new house! :-/
  25. I'm from the land of Unions. Not a big fan on them, but if you've got a guarantee on your Union wage, do you pay dues? If so you should have a union rep. I would think. I used to be UFW when I lived in Michigan and our store alone had 2 reps. Usually they're there to help you through the process. Hope if all works out for you.
