  1. Oh it gets better.... http://www.wsmv.com/story/30365218/police-fugitive-may-be-traveling-with-another-man Apparently he's smarter than he looks.
  2. Welcome back Turd! Glad to see a post from you. Don't be a stranger, maybe even visit the house some weekend if you feel like it. Arrange it with the Monkey and I'll whip up some chow. Don't be a stranger.
  3. Jim and Nicks in Franklin is decent. The best part is ordering the right thing and getting the right server. Daniel is excellent and when you order a LIT from him, I don't know what the deal is, but the bartender makes them awesome. Deviled eggs are great, Cuban sandwich stinks, all the bbq is good or great. But the service and attention pay for for it!
  4. Well then, Monkey's wallet is safe. If it can't go topless, I don't want it. Totally defeats the purpose of having a Bronco. Granted a new top would probably weigh a ton, my 79 top is a couple hundred pounds. Almost impossible to get off alone. Guess it's a good thing we're holding on to the 79.
  5. I'm all for a Raptor Bronco, but it needs that removable top. I wish they'd take it way back and make it fully removable. Poor Monkey's gonna have to prepare for when they come out. Sadly, there's no first born child for us to sell to afford it! I'm guessing it's going to be pricey.
  6. Evidently KSP called off the "active" search and will just do lead follow ups. Which I understand because it does cost money and manpower. Hell, he could've been shot and bled out in the forest or his cousin could've driven him anywhere. He'll get caught eventually. They always do.
  7. Stroganoff but with spätzle not noodles! Get the sausage sampler platter too. Gerst beer on draft is amazing and comes in icy fishbowls.
  8. I knew you were funny, but now I know you're brilliant too. They always have great stouts! The spiked milkshakes aren't bad but not strong enough. I usually play nice wife and let Monkey do the drinking so he gets home safe.
  9. Floyd Ray Cook. A 62 year old petrified POS. Still on the loose. They think in Cumberland County. WSMV has the call for help on their site. They only play snipets. I got teary eyed. Officer Valencia is a brave guy. I seriously hope this jerk goes down in a really slow and painful way. He's the lowest kind of scum.
  10. Try Wrights brand sausage. I get it at Publix. We love it and that's coming from people who used to live for T.P.!
  11. I'm gonna be a 3rd for Burger Republic. We also go there when we come back to Nashville. Buy the Farm burger is out of this world and their Mac n Cheese is probably my favorite. They have excellent nachos too, just always ask for extra jalapeños. I used to love Martins when they first started but it's kinda like Yazoo, they bigger they got, the more it seemed it changed. But I'm not a big BBQ person so I'm also a bit biased. Sushi Me is excellent though! ;-) just sit and the bar for the best service. Jin, the owner is awesome.
  12. Kept :-) I took it down after the last post. I walked out into the hallway and told my husband and he just smiled and high fived me. Yesterday was all day cruising. It was rad. We had a lot of fun. As for the CL post, I listed all her excellent qualities and new parts (tons) but I believe that being honest is important. So I did list what her needs were (mostly cosmetic). I've since decided on the direction to finish her off and get her done. So interior is going to be changed to black from tan and dark brown and her desert sand exterior is going to be a nice satin green. Army green. I would say olivey sage but that damn chart will come back out! LOL
  13. It's actually a 2001 Black Ford F-150 with a tool box in the back. Kentucky plates and a UK plate on the front. I doubt the SOB is coming back here but WKRN reported first and most accurate. It took WSMV over 3 hours to report anything. Apparently he's up in Cumberland county, KY now. That's where they're looking him. KSP is handling the search. I'm just glad the officer is ok. They said his vest protected him, he's recovering at home. It just amazes me because it was so overwhelming to see so many officers in the area and then have to wait to see what was actually happening.
  14. I'm slowly learning that. It's why I even hate to go grocery shopping. Amazingly there's more info now, evidently he escaped Kentucky officers too. I hope they catch him soon. It was a spectacle to see today. Also, the officer is in "good condition", so that's great news.
  15. So today we left the safety and warmth of our fence on the hill to run into town. I didn't feel like fighting the crowds in Cookeville so we ran into Algood instead. Still ridiculously busy at Walmart but nowhere near as bad as Cookeville. As we're leaving we pull up to the light to take the back way home. Suddenly 3 LEO vehicles go flying by, sirens everywhere. As we're waiting two more. At this point it's confusing because we're in Algood but I'm seeing Cookeville LEO's. So we start to guess. Due to the amount of LEO's we decide on robbery or homicide. But the amount of LE vehicles is just mind blowing. So we finally turn and I told Monkey to take a spin by his work to make sure the building is ok. Once we're on the road we see 8 more vehicles. And they just keep coming. Mind you Algood is tiny. Super tiny. So I'm starting to feel like we're back in Nashville. We spin through his works parking lot and check fences and all is good. Then we see a Putnam County Sheriff pull in an area and go up a ramp at his work. So being the good guy, Monkey pulls in, explains he's a manager and has keys and do they want to go inside the property? Deputy says bluntly "nope, he'd have to have gone through the fences if he's in there". THAT'S IT! So I start texting my friend who lives across the river and telling her what we're seeing because it's so out of the norm. On the way home we pass a THP and another sheriff heading to Algood. Crazy. Then I get a text. Officer shot. By some SOB strung out looking old man who had warrants out. Finally WKRN reports on it at 6pm. Nothing on WSMV. I'm angry. I'm angry at the lack of coverage but I'm really angry that it seemed appropriate to the idiot to shoot a LEO instead of going to jail. I don't want to say what's really in my head but if the SOB is "hurt" while being taken into custody, I'm totally OK with that. So much for leaving the action of the big city behind us!
  16. I will say this. I have a song that I made up for her. I also yell out "bronco power" in an 80's hair metal band voice when I see one. I talk a lot of smack about other old vehicles that aren't Broncos. And my favorite thing in the world is getting to wave at anyone in a bronco especially when they're in older Broncos. When we lived in Crieve Hall there was a dude with an older baby Bronco. It was like Christmas when we passed each other. Just because it was awesome. 78-79 to me is awesome because it was the first "big" Bronco. I'd love a early 70's but Monkey would never fit. I'm taking the posting down and she's staying. That's all there is to it now. As for the Townsend thing, I'd like to go. We used to be members on The FSB forum and that's where I originally heard about it. I bet it's a blast!
  17. LOL!! So that's a vote for no? I'm 97% sure she's staying.
  18. To be fair though.. I did list all the GOOD too!!! ;-)
  19.   See, there in lies the tricky part of pricing. I looked at that page and some of the prices are too high and some too low. Some are mudder trucks that have been beat to hell and some aren't. It is a difficult thing to price. But you're right, cash will be needed and that's the person I want to buy her if she sells. It means that they'll finish the job.     You made me laugh. Your right about girls getting dirty, but Matilda is a classy brawd. She never leaves the gravel/pavement. I don't like the thought of her getting injured. LOL     Both of our DD's are going to be paid off in full next month. Meaning we'll have 3 vehicles that are solely ours. Monkey's Dodge 2500 is what we use to venture to town during bad weather. Matilda is all time 4 wheel drive but she is squirrely on ice. Id never risk it with her. We use his truck because of the weight. And we are bearen (by choice) so there will be no one to give her to when we're old and too senile to drive.     There's the problem. My husband LOVES this truck. Which is hilarious because when I found her on Craigslist 4 years ago he went to look at her while I was at work. She was sitting under a tree just wasting away. He called me at work and said "I don't think this is the one for you, let's keep looking". I went after work and I could see underneath all the dirt and disgusting mold what she COULD be. we've gotten her half way there but we've been exhausted between moving and everything else. But I think my most selfless act would be to keep her because of how much he loves her. He just cringes when I say anything about selling her. I have 6 days left out of my 7. After that with no nibbles, she will stay in the Monkey household.     That's where I am at now. I'm literally going to go nuts and keep her if she doesn't sell in 6 days. Then I will go even crazier and do the body work in the spring. Oy.     Drove her yesterday. It made my heart pitter patter. Like spending time with a child you love. Except I don't really care for kids as much as I do dogs. LOL     You sound A LOT like me. Believe it or not, even though she is huge and a hoss and when you are driving her it feels like a tank; she trurns on a dime and hauls ass too. I've given us a 7 day period where she "might" sell. I'm 97.9% sure she won't. I am OK with that. She'd be in the garage if she fit but she's a BBB so outside in the sun is where she sits.       Guys, I really appreciate all the help. I really feel like at this point, I know what path to take and the right thing to do is. http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/5280905013.html Here's the link if you want to see what she looks like. Thanks again!
  20.   The good thing is, mechanically she is VERY sound. I make sure to not let her sit too long. She gets out at least once a week if not more and when I take her out, it's all back roads around here so she gets her legs stretched quite a bit. Hell, visiting my friend across the river requires a 20 minute drive and the steepest damn gravel driveway ever known to man. When I went up it today with the bumps and bouncing I gotta admit, my heart was beating fast and I kinda fell back in love. The hard part was facetiming with Monkey today to discuss it. I could just see his poor face start looking super sad. But what I don't understand is, if he loves it so much, why he never drives her. So I have it up for sale. I will give it 7 days and if she doesn't get nibbles, then she stays with us and we'll start body work in the spring.
  21. It's the Gluten. I am telling you, once you cut that out, the swelling just goes away!
  22.   So by keep it you mean, just do all the needed body work, paint and interior repair and keep it? That IS what you mean right?   Because there is a jerk where not far from where we live. He drives a red and white two tone version which is cute, but I know he doesn't have any of the power mine does. So I should just finish the repair work and put the boy to shame. Right? Cause that's the only way I think I can keep her. LOL
  23.   None taken, sorry if it seemed like it. I am scanning craigslist right now and some of it is comical. Honestly, 6-7k will not get her. My lowest of my low is 8,500. and I know she will sit. The good thing is I have full coverage insurance on her as a DD and she's guaranteed for $14,000 if totaled. The money would come in handy. Both of our DD's are about to be paid of next month. I have a lot of things I could use the money for but my gut says to be smart and sock it away. I just know that I will never carry out any further restoration on her and I love her enough to know that is there is someone who will, she deserves it.   You're so right. My favorite thing is we live so far out that when I go to the one gas station in the area, I always pull in and the old farts outside dinking around just stare. When I leave I always floor it just because I can look back and see them laughing. She does have a cool factor and I have been offered cash for her quite a few times, I never took them up on it. But now, I know it is what I want to do. Kinda. It's tough! She costs me quite a bit. 6 MPG @ $2.85 is a wee bit! Which is why I don't drive her often and I do drive her a bit fast and loud so I am sure I am really only getting around 4MPG. LOL
  24.   Well, I have a few reasons for that...   We've put a crap ton of money into her. I realize that's always a gamble with classics or cars in general and you never get what they're worth. I know I won't get what I am asking which is why I did do the OBO. But I also won't be an idiot and part with her for nothing. And if she doesn't ever sell, that's OK. I had a different ad up for 5 days and no responses. It doesn't offend me at all. But I am at least going to try to recover as much as I can. Because her rebuilds did cost a pretty penny and I have seen a few other 78/79's out there around Middle Tennessee and IMO, she trumps them all. Again, I could be crazy because of the emotional aspect but I do know there will be negotiations. And also, like I said, we have all receipts and any serious buyer who really wants her would take one look at them and know she's worth it.   *edited for spelling issues :ugh: *
  25. So, our household is a bit torn and in turmoil right now. It's all over a 1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT, all time 4wd.   I am the technical owner of said vehicle and I love it, but due to us not using it regularly anymore, I feel like she should go to a new and loving home. The Monkey on the other hand is torn. He's put a lot of blood (literally  ), sweat and tears (mostly me, while being under it with him yelling at me and the oil pan ) into her.   She was my daily driver for a long time. Then we had the engine rebuilt and the tranny as well. She's had tons of other repair work done and mechanically she is very sound. We both love driving her, but we don't do it enough. I am of the opinion that she should be sold and go to a home where she will be fully restored and used. We're both emotional people when it comes to our vehicles. We do our own maintenance, we clean them too much and we just generally love our vehicles. But I love her enough to let her go to someone who has the time, money and energy to finish out her restoration (I would hope).   So here's my question. What would you do? Sell it, use the money for other household needs/improvements or savings. Or would you keep it because of emotional ties, even though you don't drive her regularly. I have her listed for sale, her title is ready to sign should an interested party come forward and all her paperwork in a file because some Monkey likes to hoard papers (thank god). Again, I love her just as much as he does and I did force him to buy her for me, but we're stalled out on the restoration and I think it is best to just sell her if possible. What say ye? Good Idea or Poor Monkey, let him keep it?   We're clearly not smart enough to decide this on our own.
