Dolo, For Gus, did you get him through a rescue or was he from a Breeder? Just curious, I have met one before and adored it. I really think out next pup will be a rescued Staffordshire Terrier or Pit Bull type dog, but I would not mind and American Bulldog or one like Gus. Just curious. Thanks in advance!

is it a good or bad idea to let a 14 year old visit her mom in jail?

Is it horrible if I feel like this should be brought back since some states are having issues obtaining "legal" drugs to finish out executions? -
I wasn't either. The first time we went to a range I was so nervous my safety glasses totally fogged up. It grew on me. A lot. Now I beg for new guns all the time. I'm currently trying to get a Glock 20sf and I think I'd like an AK too. Put in a good word for me? My meatloaf is good but he makes better fried chicken. I hope we feel that way about each other after 25 years! :)

I always find the perplexing when men say that! I guess I'm the one that got lessons or maybe he brainwashed me and I didn't know it! LOL today we discussed ammo, stocking up and adding a piece or three to the collection. I love my gun, I love my husband and I love the time we spend together at the backyard range we have! Buy her some flowers, a gun and take her shooting! That'll get her on the right path. I'd hope. ;-)

They had it at $107. Wasn't sure if it was worth it or not so I did the smart thing and didn't buy it. The big guy might have liked it but a new gun will be a better hit in this house any day of the week. Although I noticed that the Larceny is almost gone and he drank a wee bit of the Traverse City so those can hold him over while he gets a new toy.

Sadly, dental insurance hasn't caught up with medical. Although given the BS high deductible medical plans now, I think we are taking a step back across the board. There are some really excellent dental plans out there, but it is all about what employers are willing to pay to get them. Delta Dental of Tennessee has some amazingly great coverage and then they have plans that just plain stink. I think BCBS is one of the worst. It's basically about what someones needs are. What coverage percentages they offer and a persons over all oral health. Sadly, there is a lot of incorrect facts out there when it comes to dental care/needs and I can't tell you the number of times I have had someone tell me they would rather the tooth be pulled than saved because they didn't want to pay their 50% copay meanwhile they're carrying a Louis Vuitton purse and have a brand new iPhone. I'm 33 years old and I had adult braces. I looked like an idiot but I paid $2500 to fix what my single mom couldn't afford. My smile in my wedding pictures is closed mouth because I had pink and black braces. I was damned sure if I had to have them, I was gonna go full out nerd with them. Season colors and all. I think if our government got out of the way and let the people handle their own business, we all would be better off. But in the meantime, we're probably stuck with crappy coverage. Schnider Electric, Ozburn Hessey and Metro Nashville were some of the best plans I ever saw. Just in case anyone is looking for a new job. LOL

My friend and I were hunting last week. We ask every week we go shopping and a woman hidden in a corner (I guess their office) laughed out loud at us. She said that she doesn't even think our area will see any this year. She then tried to sell us a bottle of limited release Yellowstone. I left. I'm buying Monkey a new gun instead.

You're correct. TSU has a excellent hygiene school but no dental to my knowledge. I would be very careful of a Meharry grad. I've had the "pleasure" of working with 2 in the past. Not the sharpest drills, pardon the horrible pun.

Thank you, probably the best laugh of the day!

He works hard and takes good care of our little furry and feathered family. If I could buy him 50 bottles a trip I would. The beer barrel won't get dumped. I'm hoping he can tolerate it with a mixer. If not it'll be for "company", that I don't like! LOL I have a knack for making "punch" when we host big groups, it usually involves a few bottles of liquor and fruit and juice so I'm pretty hopeful that can make it tolerable! Michters is next on the list! And I will try that one too. I just don't know if that can compare to my Casa Amigos and homemade sangria.

Put it this way, I bought home 4 bottles for him. He drank that whole Larceny bottle first and has said that its on the list of regulars he'll drink. He's not snooty about what he'll drink but he did hate the Beer Barrel Bourbon that I got him. He's still to crack the KC single barrel and the Travese City Bourbon. I will say I am not a big bourbon drinker, I prefer tequila or wine, but I did take a swig of the Larceny and it gave me a surprise. I can honestly say I almost enjoyed it.

My friend and I are stalking our favorite liquor store where we spend too much money. We literally purchased 8 bottles of bourbon. Our area isn't even expected to get VanWinkle this year which bums me out because if love to buy it for the big guy. This week I grabbed him a bottle of Larceny (it looked cool). A bottle of Beer Barrel Bourbon and Traverse City Bourbon (I'm a Michigander so gotta support the home teams) and a bottle of knob creek single barrel selected by the store. He has to be careful with the KC, last time he had that, there was an "incident" involving steps. LOL I really just like finding new and interesting ones. I stared at several bottles of the Michters. Now I know it's safe to buy it. Thanks!

She sounds like a rad chick! I'll always be a fan of yours because of your admiration of the 10mm! I feel the exact same way about it!

The Chief told Monkey that he somehow tracked him down through the ATF? Then contacted our local Sheriff for a phone number. Our sheriff only gave him out address and told him to send a letter. They seemed really excited to hear from him. I always complain about how OCD Monkey can be, but in this case, I'm super happy.!

Sam, what were you wanting the dog for? Home protection? Livestock? I have a friend who has a few Anatolian Shepard under her care right now. They are looking for good homes for them, there are about 4 puppies I think that will need homes soon. They are about 5-6 months old. They are mostly outdoor dogs used for livestock guarding. Again, same think as a Malinois, high energy and very protective. A handful and not for the snuggly type of home. But if you interested, I can get you in touch.

I think there is a bit more to the story than what he was willing to tell Monkey. But this Chief went so far as to contact our county sheriff to get our information. Our sheriff wouldn't give him our home phone but did provide him a mailing address. Which is no big deal given the fact that he has the documentation showing he no longer owns it. But it seems a bit weird, because he seems very intent on tracking down the "rightful owner". It made for a great discussion over breakfast tacos.

He's handsome! Almost looks Mastiff/Mali!

Hmmm not this female. This female is neither limp wristed or a wuss. 10mm or .45 are my preferred choices. Oh, and I also like my 590a1 too. Strong wrists a shoulders ;-)

Belgian Malinois are quite the handful! It also seems like there might be a lot of training required and I bet vetting too! Good luck if you choose to do it, but I'd seriously consider not adopting a Malinois. I've had exposure to working class dogs lately. We have friends who train Dutch Shepards for the THP and they also raise Malinois. They are very powerful and high energy. Good luck with whatever you decide! And at least if you're in Texas you'll have an opportunity for some BBQ!

Save Monkeyman ... Or not ... (Classic Car Advice)

Just an FYI, I went to tend to my MIL's yard today for a side project while Monkey was at work. Did you know a 79 Bronco can hold a push mower, a chainsaw, a pair of gas hedge trimmers, a gas leaf blower, 5gal gas container and a 1gal gas container? And that was not even pushing it on "being full". God, what was I thinking?? Today was THEE single best day driving her. So rad! -
Where's the outrage? Lack of coverage.

I made that comment to someone too. I think is was my MIL, she wanted me to get home before dark. I just looked at her and laughed. I said ma, I have a gun with plenty of ammo and a flashlight. It's ok. I was shocked when they came back and were in Sumner County. But I was in Algood today, I saw an officer on duty riding a motorcycle. It really hits you hard when it happens so close to where you live. I'm just thankful it's done and over. -

Well I alway check the news first thing and when I saw it I yelled out a big "woohoo!!!!". Which confused my husband a bit until I shared. -
I need honest opinion related to HCP Class

If your wife didn't like the 9mm then a 10mm probably won't be ok with her. I personally started on a 5" 1911 .45 when I started shooting so recoil doesn't bother me at all. I in fact like a bigger, more powerful gun. Insert corny joke that I like my guns like I like my men. All joking aside, my Glock 29 is smooth to me. We also own a 26 too. I've discovered a few things about myself since I started this. I love glocks and I love larger calibers. Your wife might be the opposite of me. If she likes .380 then she might like what I joking call the "pocket cricket" which is my husbands "small" carry. It's a Smith and Wesson Bodyguard. I've shot it, meh, not for me. I carry my 29 as a EDC and occasionally I will also carry my 26. I've rapidly become a fan of glocks but I also love 1911's. I've got my eye on 2 of those right now. For carrying, she'll need to figure that out. I have 2 options for myself. I carry in a kydex IWB holster when I am out and about. But sometimes I use my cancan concealment (picture a very wide belt that snaps around your waist) this usually goes on before my pants. I only wear it in days I don't wear jeans. That way I don't have to worry about how to support the kydex holster. When I wear my cancan I can fit 3 guns and a few mags. I choose to only carry 2 (my 26 and my 29) and then 2 extra mags for both of them. It's comfortable and once I'm fully dressed you'd never know I was carrying anything. If you wife has any other questions feel free to ask! Again, recoil is going to probably be her issue, for me, I discovered I highly disliked revolvers when I started. That was due to grip and recoil issues. Good luck! -

Not at all. He was a rapist and violent. Not to mention an attempted cop killer. He got what was coming to him. I'm almost tempted to take a cake/food to the Algood police today on my way into town. -

They caught his 2 companions in Sumner Cty. Now he's back in Cumberland Cty. KSP just announced they're calling off the search for the night. He's brave enough to approach people and ask for rides, so I'm wondering if he's no longer armed. The KSP trooper who spoke said he was confident he'd be found but he wasn't sure how it would go once they found him. He's a slick SOB for sure, but luck will run out. It always does.
