  1. THIS! Plus, even if you have to announce yourself, they can't force you to dress a certain way. There was a guy who won around $60 million one time and he had them pay it to a breast cancer charity. He was already rich and his wife died of cancer. When he came in for the mandatory photo op he was dressed in a black tee, black leather coat, black hat and sunglasses. I thought it was brilliant. He didn't smile or anything.
  2. I read it first thing this morning. Super sad.
  3. What hurts me the most is that the police there are only holding batons and making weird stances with their arms. How are they even supposed to defend themselves? They're clearly overwhelmed and in some cases it looks like they're out numbered. It's unbelievable and sad to see a police force like that.
  4. Add Dan Haggerty to the list. Grizzly Adams passed away this morning at 74 years old. This has been a bad few weeks for famous people. :(
  5. You just planned all of Monkey's summer chores for me! Love the greenhouse idea!!
  6. Yep. 330 Franklin Road. It's the Kroger shopping center and it's right next to Kroger. Nice guys. I think I left 2 bottles behind.
  7. Was in Brentwood today for the dentist, checked out Brentwood Wine and Spirits, they had Whistlepig 10 year so I grabbed Monkey 2 bottles. Was shocked at all the holes on the shelf, they must've sold a ton and haven't recovered yet.
  8. In the monkey house, it has for sure. But only when I drive to Knoxville.
  9. Just seeing your smiling face is enough. ;-) lol No, he's sitting on that along with his VanWinkle 12. He's such a weirdo!! I tried to get him to last night and he refused. He also picked up the last of his Ezra and put it back. Didn't want to finish it. LOL it's like watching a 5 year old playing with toys and he can't decide which one because he doesn't want to break them. Next trip I am coming alone and I'll stock up on his faves!
  10. Just my thought on this. When I go to Buds, I spend a lot. But it's "stocking up". I usually buy 6 bottles, sometimes more at a time. In 3 visits, I did spend a good chunk of money, but what I spent on booze, is so little to what I would pay here for regular stuff that it makes up for it. I realize buying $500 or more at a time isn't for everyone. God knows while Monkey appreciates it, it still makes his stomach roll. But that's because he wouldn't ever by that for himself. So in my eyes, it's my job. And if I can save money while buying him awesome bourbons, then I'll do it! P.S. For Mike: Widow Jane, she wasn't a huge hit last night. He said it tasted flat with not a enough flavor. I'm sure he'll finish it, but he won't buy it again. Which is sad because the smell was delicious but I guess that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes.
  11. I get his side, understand his concerns and I doubt I would want a bottle that was stolen. But that's still really sad!!
  12. I just woke up. Don't judge me. I had a text from a friend regarding VanWinkle Spirits. It was a picture of the 12 yr and the 10 yr and it said "Are either of these the one you got?" The 12 yr was $699.99 and the 10 was $499.99!!!! I was shocked and stunned. I've heard of gouging 2nd hand but the retailers doing it, to that extreme? Made me angry. I replied back with what I had and how much I paid, told her to get the hell out of there and not give them a dime!!
  13. I have an ARC Angel t-shirt too! Way to go Hozzie!!
  14. So, I don't know if any of you have ever heard of ARC or not. It stands for Animal Rescue Corps. But if you haven't you should look them up. In the last 3 days they have had 5 rescue cases of over 100 dogs and other animals here in Tennessee alone. Some were abandonment cases, 1 was a hoarding and one was someone who had good intentions but became overwhelmed. The last case the person was actually still caring for the animals but still surrendered them. It's shocking to me. I can't believe how many times I see Tennessee listed in their posts when they go out on rescues. Their emergency shelter is in Lebanon right now. They're in need of volunteers, supplies to care for the animals and donations. WKRN has all the info if you're interested. EDIT: Here's a link if you're interested: http://wkrn.com/2016/01/08/nearly-60-animals-rescued-from-cruelty-neglect-in-2-tenn-counties/
  15. I said that. After 2 hours at the LGS I walked out $1,100 less richer when we FINALLY finished our TGO AR build. Good luck!!
  16. Me either, I just loaded up on pmags but hell, it's always worth trying something new. Thanks for the heads up! Also, your 10mm Witness Elite Match, did you say you paid around $750 for it? Just curious. I am not ready yet, but j looked at some a week ago and I was quoted a wee bit different.
  17. I knew it. As a former CC employee too, I now understand why you're so cool. Monkey was too. But they kept him in back a lot so he wouldn't scare people. ;) I only lasted a year. He had over a decade in when we fled Nashville.
  18. I'm sure, but I try to understand a person's perspective before I form an opinion. Especially when it comes to guns, gun rights and how we as groups have to continue to fight for them. While I am sure that RLR and I probably would agree to disagree I'm always interested in how someone forms an opinion. Given what I saw when I googled, I think I know what I think but it's all very dated by at least 16 months so I can't form a 100% opinion. But I'm 98.3% there.
  19. I have a lot of thoughts on him. Monkey and I had a VERY long conversation last night about people like him, the Bundy's and what's going on in Oregon and a few other things. If only I had the patience to go back and dig through threads. I'm curious but not THAT curious.
  20. Was he a member here at one time?
  21. I don't even want to ask. Do I?
  22. Somehow, we've become the Glock house. I'm not sure when it happened but it did. And oddly enough, it's my fault. It happened about a year ago and I haven't looked back. My problem is we only have 3 calibers in this house and I only have. A few options left of Glocks I don't have. Granted we have some nice pieces but those a safe babies and don't come out often. So I just keep buying ugly with lipstick. I love their Nickle-Boron slides. Which I never thought I would. I need a 20 like that and I'll be a happy girl. But I'm not trading my black 20 for it and since I've blown through a lot of money since November, it might be a few months. I tried to branch out, if I ever finally do, it will probably be a Dan Wesson. My LGS has one and it's been there a while. When I go back if it is still there, then I'll bite. I've discovered when it's meant to be, it happens. Coon hounds and all.
  23. Sorry you lost a Glock over this. Thanks for the feedback. I've been telling Monkey for a while now that we needed to add some other brands to the mix but when I read this, I'm glad he says no sometimes!
  24. Wow. Such horrible language for an "old fart". Calling a woman a slut is not only ignorant but crude and disgusting. Especially since you know none of them. Luckily for her, she'll comfort herself with her millions while you merely sit and talk a whole lotta garbage about her and sing the praises of "big momma". For sure not language a gentleman or a decent man should or would use. Disgusting. Congrats on winning the most pig headed thread comment of the year.
