323ssplt replied to TGO David's topic in Women's Perspectives
Just showed my wife, and she was excited. She is demanding that I find her one so she can give it a try. She generally wears shirts that are untucked, so it would be great for her. Thanks Dave -

TONS of 9mm Blazer Brass at Bartlett Walmart
323ssplt replied to Ninja9's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Sweet...I need to head up there and buy 500 or so before they sell out. -
What kills me about this article, is how they make it out to be the fault of the permit system. The real fault is in the judges, da's, attornies and juries that let these creeps get off, or dismiss the multiple felonies. Hell, the go into soemthing looking at 4 or 5 felony charges and walk out with a couple of misdimenors.....that's the REAL problem in the system.

The only 'rational" explanation I could come up with is if this particular cop either had your model gun stolen from himself or someone else. He might be checking all the local sales of that particular model. Otherwise it still all sounds VERY fishy to me.

What holster for sig p239?
323ssplt replied to 2000silverz28's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
My wife carries a sig 239 in 357 sig. She has two OWB holsters. A bianchi accumold and a custom Fitzpatrick holster. She wears the bianchi way moe than the custom holster. Don't know about the sig holsters. Galco also makes geat holsters, I own and use several. -
If only I had a basement.....It would become the ultimate Man Cave....but alas............

How did the cop say he got your name and address as well?
-
The only reason I'm so wary about this, is because a similar situation happened with a very dear friend about ten years ago. A cop, who was a friend at the time but turned out to be a scumbag, told my friend that the new pistol he had purchased FTF was stolen. The cop said he would get it taken care of and took the pistol. Later he said he couldn't "take care of it" so he ditched the gun in the river, so he wouldn't "have to arrest my friend". My buddy was relieved, but once he got over his initial arrogance he was pissed!! We know that that dirty cop kept the damned thing, we could just never prove it. He's dead now, so may his soul rest where it belongs. It just sucks that a very SMALL minority of cops will use their power to do bad things.
-
yeh, something is VERY fishy. the detective that came to your house said it wasn't stolen, or who.....
-
Something sounds awefully wrong with this cops story. I doubt that they have the time to cruise internet sites and take down serial numbers and run them. I agree with XD SHOOTER call the police station and see if they actually sent an offiver to your house. Something really smells like to me.

News organizations will be allowed to photograph the homecomings of America's war dead under a new Pentagon policy, defense and congressional officials said Thursday. Defense Secretary Robert Gates has decided to allow photos of flag-draped caskets at Dover Air Force Base, Del., if the families of the fallen troops agree, the officials told The Associated Press. Gates planned to announce his decision later Thursday, they said. The current ban was put in place in 1991 by President George H.W. Bush. At least two Democratic senators have called on President Barack Obama to let news photographers attend ceremonies at the air base and other military facilities when military remains are returned to the United States. The Dover base is where casualties are brought before they are transferred on to the hometowns of their families. Gates told reporters earlier this month that he was reviewing the policy and that if the needs of the families could be met, and the privacy concerns could be addressed, he favored honoring fallen troops as much as possible. Gates said he initially asked for the ban to be reviewed a year ago, and was advised then that family members might feel uncomfortable with opening the ceremonies to media for privacy reasons or that the relatives might feel pressure to attend the services despite financial stresses. Shortly after Obama took office, Democratic Sens. John Kerry of Massachusetts and Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey also asked the White House to roll back the 1991 ban. Over the years, some exceptions to the policy were made, allowing the media to photograph coffins in some cases, until the administration of President George W. Bush and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. A leading military families group has said that the policy, enforced without exception during George W. Bush's presidency, should be changed so that survivors of the dead can decide whether photographers can record their return. If you ask me this is sacrildge........These brave men and women who gave, give or will make the ultimate sacrifice in defense of OUR country, shouldn't be used as "propoganda" by the f'n left liberal media. It's a total discrace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 260 is one helluva round. I know many a guy that are turning to it for sniper competitions, when they can. Less recoil, and flatter trajectory..it's a win win. Haven't played with the 6.8 in a bolt acttion yet. Interesting concept, just have too many other projects in the works. Out of curiosity Astra, why don't you like the Ruger mounting system. I know it's no Badger Ordinance mount, but it has served me well on several rifles. Not looking for a fight, honestly just curious?

Range USA has several 1911's for rent. They're in Bartlett.

My wife carries a Sig P239 357 Sig. Most of the time in her galco gun purse. Although she does have a Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 IWB that she loves. If she is heading to the range, or just feels like it, she has a couple of OWB holsters that she will either conceal or (Cring....) not conceal. Hope it helps.
