  1. Yep' back in 2003 when I bought it. If I had known I would have never done that, I also did a little polishing on the bolt and touched up some wear of the bluing on the magizine and bayonet. I bought it at Goodmans show, the dealer had 2 tables of M-44's in boxes stacked on top of each other for $65 each so at that time so I didn't think "prettying" it up would hurt any value.
  2. Meaning, it locks up tight extended and folded, I haven't stabbed anything with it unlike the bayonet for my 91/30 which i have several accidential stab wounds to my ceiling. Don't install a bayonet on a 91/30 in a room with a ceiling lower than 8'
  3. I've had a few 91-30's(Russian) and a Finnish, gave that to my nefew years ago and he now has about 15 Mosin's of various models and manufactures. The Polish M-44 is the best made of them all IMO. The barrel and reciever has the smoothest finish, the bolt action is the smoothest and tightest, no grinding when cycling, and the stock was the cleanest. The Pols made the best Mosin's. I wish they made a 91-30.
  4. Anyone know what the current value of a Polish M-44 in very good condition would be? The serial number on the bolt doesn't match the rifle but it's been fired at least 100 times and didn't blow up so the headspace is okay, also the stock has been cleaned up a bit from original and it doesn't have the original sling. The bayonet functions like it's supposed to.
  5. The fed has been getting too big for their britches for a long time. I respect people like Sheriff Joe for the fact the he's got the guts to push the feds buttons from time to time, he's a rarety unlike the bootlickers we often elect with naive expectations that they will actually be different. I also believe the administration is a little afraid of his popularity and the negative backlash and anti-fed feelings arresting someone like Sheriff Joe would cause.
  6. http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/31/13597578-feds-end-probe-of-americas-toughest-sheriff-joe-arpaio-no-charges?lite I really hope they are afraid to arrest and convict Sheriff Joe Arpaio, afraid of the probable civil unrest that woud follow. Like Ruby Ridge, this would be federal tyranny at it's best again, threatening, harrassing, and illegally arresting a patriot because he's a thorn in the side of on of the most corrupt tyrants residing in the White House.
  7. No one has ever said anything to me and I carry a G21 under a light cover shirt, I know I print somewhat. I don't believe anyone notices even if you print except for maybe a cop. I remember the fanny pack fad a while back, the gun packs were pretty obvious about as much as OC. It never got over the stigma that fanny packs were not a manly thing to wear, (man purse), but the worse thing about them was they were more difficult to draw your handgun from than a old military flap holster.
  8. People have been killing people since the dawn of time, I really think it hasn't gotten any worse, or really any better since and I doubt it's ever going to change in the future. On an old X-Files episode Mulder was granted a wish by a gennie, he wish for world peace then he went outside from the building they were in there were no humans on earth. That's about the truth. One thing about most humans is that they are suckers, they will believe almost anything they are told, that's why the news media don't care about accuracy or facts because they know there's millions of suckers that will not question what they manufacture.
  9. Yep. This doesn't sound like it qualifies for a national news story, plus we can't really comment much about it right now without knowing more details, sure can't trust the media to report the truth. The media were about to make a big deal about the NYC shooting, plastering Bloombergs stupid ugly face all over the TV, then it was learned that the innocent civilians were shot up by the cops and the story mysteriously dissapeared from the news. We don't know the facts about this shooting. Was it just some psycho wanting the thrill and fame of killing or was it just some dude pissed off at a particular person believing they screwed him over somehow? It does make a difference, I don't condone killing someone for screwing you over but it could be more understandable in some cases, I believe most people are capable of it if someone screwed them over bad enough. Now the psycho thrill killer is just evil garbage, I have no understanding how someone can just kill innocent people they don't even know.
  10. I would love to have 4 or 5 kids. I would home school them, train them early in survival and para-military techniques including blades, handguns and military style weapons so they will be prepared to defend freedom against the liberal-socialist invasion of America. Just tell them that.
  11. In reality it doesn't have anything to do with guns themselves with these liberal control freaks like Bloomberg, he really doesn't give a damn how many peasants gets shot and die. It's all about low class peasants having the right to own firearms that he hates the most, he see's us as a lower class, sub-human culture that he and other self rightous elitist socialist liberals should control. He gets off on it, he's addicted to power and control, he has a mental illness and he's just one of many, another one lives at the White House.
  12. Americans as a whole were alot tougher back in the 30s than they are now, too many are dependent on others doing the dirty work for them. I don't expect to see tanks and APCs rolling down the streets of Kingston Springs or Pegram, my big concern for me is that i'm too close to Nashville, all the little pampered preppies living in cluttered apartments in Nashville will be refugees during an economic collapse. Many will venture out of Nashville believing they are entitled to whatever food you have grown or saved.
  13. I always wondered with approximatly 320 million people in the U.S., how can anyone think martial law could be enforced? If anything, a declaration of martial law would actually greatly increase civil unrest, and possibily cause unrest and division in the military. Enforcing martial law and getting the whole population to comply is impossible. We are far from the French and Germans of the 30s and 40s.
  14. Well of course they do, i'm not really for regulating the media but I would like to see how they would respond to calls for regulation since they are all for restricting, regulating and crapping all over our 2nd Amendment rights.
  15. And RINOS like Alexander. Was he one of the 50 or is he planning on licking Obama's boots again?
  16. Every time I sign on the internet, every time I change the channel to some news station I see/hear a story about the psycho who shot up the theater in Colorado with this piece of human garbage's face plastered all over the computer screen and TV. Not only do we all have to suffer this crap but every sociopath psycho out there sees and hears how famous the mainstream media is making him, inspiring all the sociopath psycho's to be famous themselves someday. With the media's radical political left wing ideology blaming the guns that the psycho used and calling for restrictions on American citizens constitutional rights maybe it's time to look at what is making these sociopath psycho's want to commit these murders. FAME. More than anything else, even the thrill of killing humans these parasites get, they want to be famous and an irresponsible out of control media is giving them exactly what they want. I wonder how the sanctimonious elitist's in the media would feel if there was a call for strict federal regulations on what they can report, how they report it, and how much they can report. You think they may scream about infringing on their 1st amendment rights? That's funny since they are so willing to crap all over the constitution, deciding for themselves what rights the media have and what rights the common peasant idiots don't have. That's because they truely believe that they are the elite and everyone else are dumb Neanderthals that should be told and forced how to think and act. More than anything else these sociopath psycho's are motivated by the fame they are going to be given on a silver platter be an irresponsible main stream media so instead of calling for gun control laws, how about we call for strict regulations on the media and their irresponsible reporting.
  17. I can think of several other people I would rather have than Romney but that's who we got to choose from and it's likely that some of the stronger conservatives in the Senate and House will keep him in line. On the other hand if Obama gets re-elected he's got nothing to loose by completing the destruction of America and the Constitution, which he will do.
  18. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jul/25/obama-calls-measures-against-gun-violence/ Give this socialist tyarrant another term and he will try to take away all your rights and firearms.
  19. O'Reilly is a narcissist but he's in good company with many more in the media, Hollywood and politics, they're all the same, self-rightous, sanctimonious, elitist control freaks. I have absolutly no use for any of them including O'Reilly. Everyone should have known where he stood when he defended the theft of privatly owned firearms by the New Orleans police after Katrina. For the life of me I don't know why people are still so clueless that they listen to and believe these spoon fed idiots like O'Reilly, Matthews, Oberman, etc. Just goes to show that even a college degree doesn't necessarily make someone intelligent.
  20. Well i've never bought any but if it was gas, that would be difficult to come by. Anyway, this early in the story there's really no way to know who he is and why he did it.
  21. Wonder if that was military issue smoke or gas he had, I personally don't know anywhere to buy that. I hope he's not an ex-vet that snapped. Murdering innocent people who did you no wrong is evil enough but killing a baby has that bit of extra evil to it. There's no doubt the anti's will exploit this to their political advantage, they don't care about the victims and their families, just their political agenda, they have no shame.
  22. Update. 14 dead and 50 injured. This was more organized it seems than a couple of psycho kids. Just speculating but it sounds like a terrorist attack.
  23. www.foxnews.com As reported at this time. 2 shooters. 10 dead. 20 injured. set off smoke gernades. had devices in car.
  24. Aww stop whining, be glad you don't live on Venus. It's 700+F, the barometric pressure is 1500. PSI, and it rains sulfuric acid. Well at least they are getting some rain.
  25. So is the surface of the sun.
