1.   I think those mayors knows what MAIG is about, they probably start to catch heat from many of their constituents so they play dumb. They want to get re-elected someday. In a familiar case close to home, one quit MAIG's and pretended he didn't know how anti-gun they were so he could get elected to a higher office, it worked.
2. I read that the manufacturing process leaves a hollow cavity in the tip of the bullet somehow producing a yaw or tumbling when it enters flesh. I think I would still prefer a bigger bullet when faced with a bear though.
3. From the article. If you carry that small of a caliber for bear defense then I recon you had better have a large capacity or rounds in a semi-auto weapon. I don't know much about bear defense but if I were to choose a decent all around gun for defense against big animals and maybe to hunt with I would choose a semi-auto at least in .308/7.62x51. Maybe in some AR platform but I would probably like a scoped M1A Scout or SOCOM. I know there's better hunting calibers for big game but in bear and moose country I would want a semi-auto with at least a 10+ round capacity and i'm not aware of many semi-auto's in larger or faster calibers than the .308. Remington makes a semi-auto in 30-06 but the difference is not that much plus I would want it to be managable for quick follow up shots. As far as "shot Placement", I can be decently accurate whith a long gun when shooting at paper targets at the range,I'm not sure about how accurate i would be if a charging bear wanted to kill and eat me.
4.   There's still plenty of reasons to try to replace both of them, unfortunatly they have most of the money to run their campaigns and commercials while a decent candidate doesn't have the funds or a  chance. That's why we have Haslam also.
5.   I'm not going back and read 6 pages of posts in this old thread so if this has been discussed yet I apoligize. The answer to the thread title, "Must you take a butt woopin before you pull a firearm", my personal answer is hell no. First of all I don't intend to start or provoke an incident with anyone and i'll "TRY" to ignore a punk or jerk as long as i'm able to, i've done it before with idiot drunk rednecks who just wanted to mess with someone and nothing happened. I'm not perfect and I have allowed my temper before to flip the bird which might aggravate an incident but again, I wont start it. Now the title says, "pull a firearm" or show a firearm which you can very well be arrested for if you don't have probable cause, that's threatening deadly force but it's a lighter charge than manslaughter. Whatever the incident is and how it started, if I feel someone is potentially going to harm me or kill me I will do whatever I have to, if they are angry at me and making threats or walking towards me in a threatening way and I feel like they are capable of harming me weather they have a weapon or they are the champion UFC fighter I'll probably show or draw my handgun to let them know i'll defend myself with deadly force if need be. If they continue and I feel they are getting too close or the situation is getting too dangerous for me then I plan to shoot, even though I don't wat to shoot anyone. I say I probably will or plan to because i'm not going through a dangerous situation while typing this. No one can know for sure how just a "butt woopin" will turn out, people have been killed before from a "butt woopin" so I plan not to let that happen to me.
6. I'm a Mosin fan, what grows from carrying Mosins?
7.   I would just have the High Point sticker, it might just keep someone from going to all the trouble of breaking into your vehicle just to steal a cheapo, maybe a Charter Arms sticker beside it.    :)
8.   I do feel pretty well armed with what I have, the maximum "visable" distance in my small house i'll be from someone is 7 yards so I should be able to hit a torso sized target with my G21. But dang, this carbine just looks cool to me.   https://masterpiecearms.com/products.php?cat=34
9.   Good God, I can't stomach watching any more of that self serving narssisistic idiot.
10.   I don't wish him to be shot and i'm not saying he deserves to get shot, but if he keeps playing these dangerous games and does get shot someday, he certainly asked for it. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
11. There might come a day when we walk out in the streets shouldering our long guns for protest and defense but it hasn't got to that point yet, when or if that day comes not only will we be armed with our tactical weapons we will probably be using them. I hope that day never comes but I believe it's a possibility. I believe getting loud and vocal and telling some of the more staunch socialist liberals to go fornicate with themselves but there's still a line not to cross right now. I would prefer to have those who are decent people who are lacking in knowledge about gun owners view me as a decent law abiding person, i've converted a couple of fence sitters in my lifetime, Embody probably makes some fence sitters swing to the anti-side.
12. Weather I have a right to do something or not, common sense and common courtesy to my fellow citizens wont allow me to shoulder my MAK-90 wearing body armor or a tactical vest and walk down the street in downtown Nashville. Only a fraction of a fraction of .00001% of the population of the USA knows who I am, if i'm a nice decent man who intends no harm to them or if i'm some unstable disturbed psycho planning on shooting them. It's understandable to me with all the news about psycho shooters killing innocent people that people would be concerned, even scared seeing someone walking down the street with whatever firearm he had, some news outlets say an AR-15 and the radio said an AK-47, wearing what looks to them to be body armor. He could be within his rights but it's still a stupid and morally wrong thing to do to some people and to us who value our Constitutional rights because he's certainly not improving overall opinions people have about gun owners. Embody just thinks about himself and the attention he gets, the more fuel he can throw on a fire the more he gets off on it. Maybe the "incident" was much to do about nothing to us but most people form their opinions from what they hear from the media and have little or no knowledge of firearms and gun owners in general. Embody is a detriment to gun owners and if I talk to a non-gun owner i'll tell them what a jerk I think he is.
13. Well another story said he had the AR wrapped in plastic and electrical tape, I guess that's why the responding officers didn't take him down.
14.   I think he needs some kind of mental evaluation. I'll be the first to tell a non gun owner to chill out if they are freaking out about someone with a handgun on their side but even I would be somewhat concerned and suspious if someone was walking down the street with an AR(as reported by the news) and body armor(as reported by the news). Could just be a tactical vest but the average person doesn't know that, he may champion his right to walk down the street like that but he's a class A  A-hole for terrifying people who doesn't deserve to be.
15. What a freaking idiot. Body armor and a long gun walking in a crowded downtown area, it's a wonder sombody didn't take him for an active shooter and shot him. If something like that would have happened to that clown it would have been a justifable shooting. I'll argue for my 2nd.Amendment rights all day long but there's something mentally wrong with Embody, he's addicted to drama and confrontation and that's probably the least of his problems. If he gets charged with a suppressor and doesn't have a FFL, i'll assume that will be a felony and an end to all his 2nd Amendment rights. Now I disagree with the law on suppressors but i'm sure not going to rally for Embody's defense. Dude has a serious missfire in his brain.
16.   Clean your ears right after you clean your guns, that Hopps #9 really breaks down ear wax.  :)
17. I keep an old medicine bottle full of Q-Tips in my gun cleaning box which is a big fishing tackle box. I also keep a pair of tweezers in there to remove all the little cotten strings from my guns after using Q-Tips on them. The top of the tackle box that usually stores lures is a great place to store barrell brushes, patches etc. As far as cleaning my ears, i think everybody digs in deep with Q-Tips even though warned against. I bet even doctors do it.
18. They need to add Lamar to that toon, i'm sure he's in that line behind the big fat SOB.
19. Just say the entire new England area, and CA. and IL. I know some celebrate that all states now have some form of citizen carry laws, the NRA often boasts about how many states have carry laws but in reality it's next to impossible for an average citizen to get a carry permit in many states such as New York, New Jersey etc. California unless your name is Feinstein. Years ago I bought a booklet called Legally Armed in Tennessee at the show in Nashville, it gave recommendations of how to store your firearm in some states when traveling. In many states then it recommended storing in a case or box unloaded with the ammo stored seperately, then it recommended that before crossing into New Jersey, stop on the Deleware River bridge and throw all firearms into the river. In many states I wouldn't want to be caught with any firearm even stored properly, those states I will avoid weather i'm armed or not, I turned down a trip to Metropiolis IL casino not long ago for that very reason, besides Aztar is closer and in a free-er state.
20.   I have an 870 nearby, tube loaded with 00, but like you i'll depend on my handgun. I can't legally own a shotgun short enough for my liking to manuver around my small house, my G21 with 13 rounds of .45 is a decent choice for me. I always had a desire for a .45ACP carbine as short or shorter than an M3 Grease gun with an adjustable stock, at least an 8" barrell, a 20 rnd. capacity or larger mag., top and bottom rails for lights and lasers and AK reliability. That would make for a good close quarters defense weapon. Masterpiece Arms makes a cool looking .45 carbine, it looks like a MAk 10 with a stock and a rail.
21. I am quite aware of that, just reminding some that he was, and still is an anti, that's why I didn't vote for him for Gov. and will never vote for him. He only "pretends" to be pro to buy votes. Please learn to recognize sarcasm.
22.   You forgot one. Mayor Bill Haslam, Knoxville TN
23. That being said, if there's a next time it won't be about succeeding from the United States of America, it will be about saving the USA from the Neo-Marxists.
24. I'm sure most all Germans today are glad they didn't win, i'm a redneck southener and i'm glad we didn't win in 1860-1865, a war that should have never been fought in the first place.
