  1.   I thought Mexico, maybe in the past. I can't say for sure if it was Rio shells or some other but I had some .410 made with a bi-metal base instead of brass that would swell and stick/hang in the chamber that took a cleaning rod to extract. Like I said I thought it was Rio ammo but not positive. It was also 5+ years old. I have also had cheapo 12 guage Winchester bi-metal shells do the same thing, I wont buy or fire any shotgun shell with a bi-metal base anymore.
  2. Fargo was one of my favorite movies, I like most of the Coen brothers stuff. I usually don't care for re-makes but I thought True Grit was pretty good also, kinda strange for a Coen brothers movie.
  3. If you like Coen brothers or the movie Fargo you'll like this. Not too many TV shows I like so i'm glad there's something to look forward to watching. Trailor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jFU0r0xG_c
  4. Just read some info about it, it will be only a 10 episode series.
  5. I saw the first episode last night on FX. Dark humor like the movie starring Billy Bob Thorton. I liked it personally, thought it was pretty good keeping up with the Coen brothers type of humor.
  6. Sorry, I didn't read the link close enough.
  7. Just click on Georgia on the U.S. map and it will give you all the info you need on Georgia carry laws. It's a PDF format. http://www.handgunlaw.us/

  9.   When I was 16 I shot one with a single shot 12ga. I was out in my yard "shooting stuff" for fun and a red wasp was harrassing me, it landed right on the muzzle of my Sears Ted Williams single and even climbed partway down the barrell, I just cocked the hammer then turned it into molecules. I hate wasps also, worth a cheap skeet load.  :)
  10. I'm all for it and as long as I have a HCP I will keep on renewing it so I can carry in other states. It will start out like all the other carry laws if it passes into law, some people will cry and moan about wild west shootouts for a month or two and when that doesn't happen and they see that most people don't care what their opinion is, they will finally shut up about it.
  11. They even gave him a warning shot and he still entered the house, that tells me this criminal is psycho or having drug withdrawls or just so amped up on meth he didn't give a crap. Never buy a gun with the intention that you will always scare bad guy away. 1st rule of gun safety, never point the muzzle at anything(any living thing), that you don't intend to shoot. I've taught my sister and nefew and neice and always told them if you point a gun at another person, you had better be ready to shoot and kill them. If it happens to turn out that they ran away and you didn't have to shoot, or they didn't die if you did shoot then that's good but always be prepared and intend to shoot and kill bad guy, bluffing and leg shots will get you killed.
  12.   I know what they say about assuming and assumptions but we all do it, we kind of have to from time to time. If I was a LEO, I would probably assume that anyone carrying openly holstered in a public place has a HCP. I know many criminals are morons but even that would be a stupid move for them, besides bad guys are already making their move when they display their gun, not just eating at some restaurant. Alot of people probably notice, they just don't say anything and assume you have a permit. If you OC long enough you will probably run into some rabid leftest anti that's going to call you names and accuse you of killing babies.
  13. If you want the toughest little snubby get a Ruger SP101 in .357, of course they're also the heaviest. I got mine for around $380.oo but that was in 01. I'm sure they are around the $500 range now. Because of the weight they are not the ideal backup gun but I will bet you will never break it or wear it out.

  15.   There's plenty of Mexicans that will do the work that Americans don't want to do.
  16. They don't own the parking lot at the fair grounds, I don't see how they can prohibit parking lot sales, that would be up to the owners of the fair grounds.

    Painting sights

Thanks, it's very visable and I can raise the rear sight a little to shoot the bullseye at 50 yards. Most all Mosins i've shot, shot high.

    Painting sights

I have a bottle of bright red nail polish that I painted a couple of front sights with, I painted the front sight of my SP101 3 years ago with it, I carry it most all of the time and it's been holstered and un-holstered countless times and has never faded or chiped. Looks like the day I painted it. On my 91/30 Mosin that shot high I raised the front sight by putting and heating a peice of small diameter heat shrink a mil taller than the sight, I filled in the cavity of the heat shrink tubing with the red nail polish. It's very visable and strong to my surprise. Nowadays I guess you can get just about any color of nail polish.   BTW, why do they call it "polish" when it's actually nail paint?
  19.   Well i've read alot about the NoNo's of air rifles, nothing said about a bow and arrow though. Talk about silent, just wipe your prints off the arrow.  :)
  20.   "Some" of those generals are political todies, are going to say what the current administration wants them to say no matter what. Get a few extra brownie points, maybe a promotion or new cushy command or position someday. Nothing like a little butt kissing to futher your carreer. Funny how some of the biggest 2nd Amendment supporters are ex-military people, usually the blue coller soldiers.
  21. That's pretty much outlawing self-defense on military bases.
  22. Well i've decided not to glue myself to the news right now while they are in hyper-speculation mode, i'll wait a while until they get a few facts and stay away from the major liberal opinion channels like BSNBC and CNN ect. They did announce that BoBo the clown was going to make a statement, which I will not watch because of the high chance that he will politically exploit this incident. Like it happened an hour ago and he can't wait to get in front of the camera as if he has something important to add. I'll feel sad for the families for anyone that may have been killed in this incident but i've learned over the years that I wont know what really happened for a couple of days and I still can't trust most everything the major media outlets reports even then.
  23.   Here's one artical I found.   http://ezinearticles.com/?Forensic-Ballistics---Recovering-Hidden-Serial-Numbers-From-Firearms&id=917211   I guess especially on a gun where the metal is not very thick the "deformation" will go all the way through. I'm sure that wont work for serial numbers that are etched.
  24.   I don't watch that show, the only cop show I watch now is Criminal Minds. I saw this technique on a real forensic documentry. Stamping metal will leave an impact imprint pretty deep.
  25. I saw some forensic show once where they took a gun with a "STAMPED" serial number that had been ground off, smoothed it off some more and applied some kind of acid that brought out the serial number. Something about stamping imprint goes through all of the metal.
