How about a .25 super? .32 case necked down to .25. Of course you have to build your own cartridge then. There's probably some old European metric cartridges that come close to that. What happened to the old combo-guns, over and under rifle/shotgun combos? Don't see much of them anymore. I think a cool survival combo would be an 20" barrell .357mag/20ga. over and under combo. Push the breach lever and it would open and stop like a normal over and under, push another lever on the bottom and the barrells would fold all the way back into the stock so it would fit in a polymer case on your backpack.

You would probably have a muzzle velocity of 13,000+ fps, or it would disenergrate before it leaves the barrell, or it would just expload like a grenede. I'm voting on the latter.

There you go, actually I was kidding about a carbine in .50AE but I do want a short carbine in .45ACP but will handle hotter loads in +p if you want. I know there's some out there but it would be nice to build my own. Reliability would be priority #1 and accuracy, recoil reducing features, adjustable stock, rubber grip forearm with an insert for light and laser. I know it's not important as far as function goes but I want it to look kinda cool to, not like a Kris Vector that looks like a pizza box with a trigger. If I had a reliable, accurate, short and light .45 carbine and a 30 round mag I would put my 870 back in the gun cabinet and put that by my bed.

What model does Glock make .22 conversion kits for? Making it from the ground up you sure could make it alot slimmer than any Glock model.

I know everybody's had ideas about inventing their own gun from the ground up, that is if you were a multi-millionair and could spend a chunk of money. I've thought about quite a few, I always wanted some kind of semi-auto carbine, gas piston operated, straight stock like an AR with a hydralic recoil buffer, 16"barrell, cool muzzel brake, pistol grip with a mag release reachable with the thumb on the reciever, push forward to release mag, push down to release bolt. And of course great sights, picitinny rails for red dot, light or laser, 20 and 30 round mags. Oh yea, in .50 Action Express. Might be good protection from Mr. Moose or Mr. Griz in hiking/camping out west.

Well, I haven't been camping in a long time but I also would be concerned about the worlds most dangerous animal of the 2 legged kind. I would carry my G21. I know the old 9mm vs .45 argument but you still can't go wrong with 13 rounds of 230grain, it will do the job. Now if I was in Wyoming, I might like a Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 Cassull.

I live in a 60+ year old house constructed of all oak frame. Real 2x4 outside wall studs with 1x6 oak boards for the outside wall, covered with that old type asphalt/sand siding about 3/4" thick, and that was covered with 1/4" ceder shingles. I never tried it but I bet a .380 wouldn't penetrate it, anything else would loose most all it's velocity plus my nearest neighbor is almost 200 yards away. I'm pretty confident to shoot at bad guy with just about anything in my house.

That's a pretty stupid reason, they're just donating $115 to the state so they can brag.

24/7. I don't actually sleep with it on but it's on my nightstand. I tell anyone who has an intrest in getting a HCP to carry it all the time because I believe it's safer, meaning the more you handle your handgun(in a safe manner) the more it becomes an unconscience habit, the more you feel comfortable with it. Respect it but don't be afraid of it and go out and shoot the damn thing every now and then. I know a person who has a hcp who hardly ever carries it much less even handle it, and I can tell he's even scared of the gun somewhat. Either get over it or sell it to me at a great price.

What I would like to say to one of those sanctimomious judgemental do-gooder liberals. Why yes, I would shoot someone. As a matter of fact, i'm fantasizing about it right now. :)

Move into a brick house. :)

I think i'll re-consider the wax slug idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnTAr5jqJQI

I like the plain jane type, just a Kenmore $25-6 cup model with auto-shutoff after 1 hour. I do require the auto-shutoff. I know some people who have those $100+ one cup deals, I don't think the coffee is any better than my plain ol Maxwell House dark roast, and coffee is a heck of a lot cheaper than the little cups. P.S. No beeps either, it has a timer but I never use it.

Just ask them, if someone came at your mother with a knife, would you shoot them? If not, you must not love your mother very much.

I read you can't get enough 00 buck in a 20ga to be a very effective, I wonder how #1 or #2 reloaded in a target 20ga shell would work. Of course i'm guessing it would be better to have some actual re-loading equipment for that.
-
At ranges inside the home I would say the average field load would be pretty leathal. You can also take low recoil skeet loads, dig out a small hole in the crimp and fill it with super glue. If I had a 20ga I would load it with slugs but they can have a snappy recoil. EDIT: Iksnay on the Gluenay, here's a better solution. Wax slugs. I'm going to have to try that on some low recoil target loads. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBWWqXVbAfA

How about a 1/2" strap on steel thigh and butt plate, slightly curved outward at the end to direct the bullet away from you when holstering your Glock? Better yet, a kevlar bullet catch attached to the bottem of your holster. :)

Must be those cheapo Russian biscuits.

I thought this was a very informative video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDnEkFSMRik

A great way to clean out your freezer is to forget you put a can of coke in it to cool quickly. That makes more of a "THUMP" sound more than a bang. Actually you hear two sounds, a "THUMP" and just after, "OH SH!T".

That gives me an idea for a biscuit gun.

Too lazy. I have before with Bisquick.

These biscuits wern't even hot, the tube was still cold when I put them in the rotter drawer in the fridge and the pressure blew out 4 biscuits. I can see them exploading with greater force in a hot car so the story I would say is possible. BAM. Hit in the back of the head with a gooey mess, that might freak me out for a second.

(Improvized Exploding Biscuits) After putting up groceries from Publix this morning I heard a Boom, it wasn't loud but a noise that shouldn't have happened so I looked around to see what may have fallen then it hit me, I immediatly knew. Seems that this is the 2nd. time a tube of Publix brand Butter Me Not biscuits blew it's top. The last one I didn't hear of find for a day or two and they were ruined but this one I had to cook so I wouldn't waste them. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else ever had a Publix brand biscuit tube blow its top? Seems they have a packaging problem.
