I just found this on YouTube. I know some handguns are not designed for +p ammo but does any one else think that even a +p round shouldn't split a barrell like this? I know +p has a little more power but, I wouldn't want any handgun with that weak of a barrell, maybe he got a DB9 with a flaw in the barrell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhkHML6LZv4

I'm going to be packing both. A Glock 21 and an AK-47, that way I wont have to worry about carrying cleaning materials or worry about stupid malfunction drills.

I'm staying put as long as possible also, I have more resorces in my home and on my property than I do out in the sticks. Where I live I don't see many scenerios where I would have to evacuate my home.

There was a revolver some time ago that chambered anything from .380, .38, 9mm and .357 magnum from one cylinder, it was called the Madusa. Apparently it wasn't that popular or reliable because I haven't heard anything about it for years. I did think it looked pretty cool though. Looks hard to load though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s49-iKC7_pA

To me it's the same ol psycho nut cases no matter who they blame for their screwed up lives. I don't believe there is a big increase in scumbags killing innocent people because they hate the world, just more media coverage of it and the big way they do it to get the fame they want. If these two psychos didn't kill two cops for the fame, they would have eventually killed their neighbor or killed themselves in a fight but because they knew they would be famous they did it this way.

Well mine expires Oct 28th. If I don't get it by the end of July i'll call sombody.

Especially if there's a bad situation like say some big natural disaster, many people who would not normally carry now would most likely choose personnal and family protection over the law. I wonder how many people without a permit stuck their nightstand .38 in their pocket after Katrina.

If it's real close to your house some of the surge can ruin delicate electronics. My sister had that happen long ago, lightning hit a tree beside her house and she lost her answering machine, VHS player(real long ago), and a couple of other things. yesterday I had to cut up a bunch of fallen big tree limbs with an electric chain saw. My gas saw doesn't work anymore but that little electric saw actually worked pretty good for small jobs. The secret is a sharp chain.

There's a scenerio or two where it could happen. If/when the economy tanks, and I really think it will some day maybe far off and we, the people, are in a bad way, crime skyrockets, many people weather they have a permit or not will take it upon themselves to carry a firearm, rules or no rules. It would be a scenerio where most people would just do it no matter what the government says. P.S. I'm not advocating that, I just can see that happening as a possibility some day. Also I thought there were now almost 450,000 HCP holders in Tennessee. Almost 1/2 million.

If everything was the way "it should be", we would just keep a copy of the Bill Of Rights, 2nd Amendment in our wallet for our handgun carry permit. No expiration date, no renewal fees.

It was never really a hassle for me to go to the DMV in West Nashville, I may just do that to get a new picture made. The old picture was taken long ago and I look a little older, plus i've lost a few pounds since then. If I haven't gotten the application by the middle of July i'll call them then go to the DMV after getting it, the reciept you get from the DMV is also recognized as your HCP.

Thanks, I sometime worry too much about things.

My HCP expires in October of this year, seems that last time they sent my renewal about 6 months before it expired but I may be wrong. How long has it taken for anyone else to get their renewal form?

I was told by an animal control officer to release any wild animal I catch in a live trap on the Cheatham WMA property, are you sure it's illegal? I asked him about a groundhog I tried to catch when he told me to release them there, he also mentioned coons and possums.

Sardines is absolutly the best bait.

Many years ago I had a Remington 700 in 30-06 with a Simmons scope, one of their better ones. I fired alot of different ammo through it and could only get 1-1/2" to 2" groups from a rest at 100yds. One day I bought 2 boxes of Winchester Partition Gold 150gr. moly coated, and shot 1/2" groups of 3 with that. Most all groups with that ammo, all the holes were touching at 100yds so I was convinced that coated bullets improved accuracy, in my case greatly. I don't remember the exact power of that scope but it was powerful enough to keep the crosshair on a 1/2 dot at 100yds. Now I did some off hand shots that didn't come close to that but that was me and not the rifle or ammo, good enough to get a clean kill shot on a deer though.

Hornady Critcal Duty .45ACP 220gr. Flexlock

Well the new ammo cycled fine and was pretty accurate, at least 7 of them did, I had to save 13 out of a box of 20 so I could have a full mag. Anyway all the other Federal, Hornaday, Winchester, and Blazer ammo I shot yesterday cycled with no problems but heck, it's a Glock, what do you expect. Also shot some 70's and 80's .22 I had found and they all went bang, shot my MAK-90 and my nefews Garand. All in all it was a fun day at the range. -
Had an H&R Topper .410 at 14 on a gun rack above my bed.

He would have to be an undercover drug cop, long hair scraggly beard. Also driving a beat up work truck. -

I looked at a box of Hornaday 185gr Flextip +P's, I bet they are fast. The 220's "claimed" a muzzle velocity of 950fps, i'm assuming the 185's have at least 1100 fps muzzle velocity. I guess it's just stuck in my brain for years to load my .45's with 230 grain loads. Reading gun magizines since the late 80's brainwashed me to believe there's only 2 calibers worth anything in handguns and that was .45 or .357mag. Guess what calibers i've mostly carried in semi's and revolvers over the years? :) Yes I do realize that modern 9mm ammo is quite effective for personal defense, it's just getting my sub-conscience to except it. -

Yea I have some of those Hornaday 230gr. +p, i'm going to shoot most of those this week. When I bought these Hornaday Critical Duty 220gr. I didn't want any more +p rounds but like a dummy I didn't look very well at the box, or the fine print that said +p. Oh well, i'll shoot a few, +p's aren't really too bad in a G21. I also have some old Federal Hydra-Shock with the stem inside the cavity i'll shoot up, they're about 8 years old. -
Bought a box today, heard and read it's pretty good defensive ammo. I've always bought 230gr. ammo for a .45 but 10 grains isn't that much of a weight difference. I made a mistake though, I should have bought 2 boxes so I could run a couple of mags through my Glock 21. I'm going to the Cheatham range sometime this week to shoot up some of my older ammo, i'll run 7 of the new Hornaday so I can have a full mag of 13, i'll also keep some of my older Hornaday 230gr tap for the other mag. I would like to shoot more to see how my G21 likes it but i'm on a budjet when it comes to ammo these days, i'm confident that it will function okay. I bought a box of Blazer Brass and I have some Winchester white box i'll shoot up to get the rust off me, hadn't shot any of my guns in a while, i'm over due for a range session.

I did a search and found an article on the ruling. http://www.cnn.com/2013/07/11/us/guns-post-office/index.html It was a federal judge, it would be an assumption but that should be a ruling for all states. -

I heard/read not long ago some federal judge ruled that permit holders could leave their gun in their vehicle in the parking lot of a post office without violation. I believe this ruling was from a case where some man with a carry permit was charged for having his gun in his vehicle in a post office parking lot. How they knew he had it I don't know. Anyway, this guy I saw who had his Glock in a cheapo nylon holster bouncing away on his belt was not attempting to conceal anything, that's how I knew it was a Glock. He's either very bold or ignorant of the law, there is a sign on the wall inside the building and basic laws should be covered in a HCP class, IMO just to protect the permit holder from getting into trouble. Weather it's a federal building or federally controlled building i've always been aware that it was illegal to bring a firearm inside the post office building. -

Probably doesn't realize it, I know in my HCP class many years ago they covered the laws but even then I knew it's illegal to have a handgun on federal property. The only exemption is federal parks in states with shall issue laws.
