Rick Moranis and Steve Martin in a movie has got to be funny. I'm not a drama or musical type movie watcher but I did enjoy that.

There's alot of movies I could call my favorite I guess but here's my list of the ones that I think of first. Action/War: Saving Private Ryan Western: Once Upon A Time In The West Comedy: Airplane, and don't call me Shirley. Scary: Poltrigiest 1 I could say there's one musical I would add and that's Little Shop Of Horrors.

Mount you a light on it and you have a halfway decent home defense carbine. I've never shot a .410 revolver, i.ve seen ads from Hornaday for some bad looking .410 defense loads with one big cone shape slug with 2-000buck behind it,looks like a pretty effective load for close range. Then of course 5-.45 Colt rounds aint bad either. You would have more control and maybe one to two hundred extra FPS from the longer barrell. I wouldn't mind having one, there's some practical uses and looks fun to plink with also.

Solution. Keep plenty of ammo for your "long gun", and keep it clean and good working order. If the enemy is now wearing body armor then issue ARs in .308/7.62 x 51, change the ammo to steel core.

From the artical: 8 times? It doesn't say "where" he shot the guy though. It's hard to imagine, even someone hyped up on meth or crack not going down if he were shot a few times in the lungs, it's obvious the cop didn't get a heart shot. It's definatly shot placement with any caliber. I know the old saying that a hit with a 9mm is better than a miss with a .45 which is true but I believe a hit with a .45 is better than a hit with a 9mm, but hey, i've never been shot back at in a gun fight so there's probably no telling what I would hit. I'm probably just brainwashed from years of reading and hearing that the .45 is more effective than the 9mm and since the military has to use hardball, issue them all Glock 21s.

God only knows how many rounds he's fired through all guns in his lifetime.

That's cool slowmo video with the fire comming from the barrell, and the cylinder gap. Definatly shows you not to put your fingers around the cylinder.

It did look like that was pretty uncomfortable to do, I know I wouldn't want to try it. I had a Raging Bull for a while in .454 Cassull, just a novelty gun for me, the only practical use for those is big game hunting and self defense against Smokey and Bullwinkle if you hike in Montana. I shot quite a few 250 to 300 grain loads from it, it sends a pretty good shock wave through your hand, wrist, and elbow. I think if you were to shoot those hand cannons very much you would eventually develop some kind of itis in your joints, Magnumitis. They are definatly not for plinking cans.

This. Actually it's the same 3 1/2" blade Case i've carried for 20+ years, I keep an edge that will shave hair off your arm. I do have a cheapo Milano auto but i'm afraid it would open in my pocket. I do however celebrate the end of the stupid knife laws tomorrow, i'll be looking at knives a little more.

Something big is getting ready to kick off

Every now and then I see Blackhawks and Chinooks, and occasionally a c130 fly N.W. over my house, a straight line to Ft. Cambell. The other day I saw a C130 with fuel lines extended fly over followed by a Chinook, obviously refueling training. First time i've seen that. Didn't think they would practice that over populated areas but I guess they do. -
I saw that a while back but it's still funny, what's funnier is that some idiots believe gun free zones really work. Funny but kinda sad also.

Are they loud without a suppressor?

According to Gallup, many are catching on to the media. http://www.gallup.com/poll/171740/americans-confidence-news-media-remains-low.aspx Unfortunatly though, if people can't hear the truth about a story because there's no media large enough to counter the bias, activisim and LIES, (call it what it really is), they will remain ignorant and believe the first reports. I am guilty myself of making a quick judgement as soon as I hear some news stories but i'm trying to tell myself to WAIT, don't believe what they say or report because the story will most likely change several times until the media and others have the story they want you to hear, but eventually some truth will leak out over time from smaller sources.

This. The only time I wouldn't do all that is if I knew the person I was selling it to very well, a good friend or relitive that I trust.

I have a box of those, a full box because i've never shot any. Looks like a .22 short case with a bullet twice as long as a standard .22LR. I would shoot some if I had a single shot .22 rifle but i'm not going to try them in my 10/22, don't trust them in a semi-auto.

I believe he's just has one term so far, I guess he realized it's probably his one and only weather he want to run again or not.

Haa, actually because it's a Raven .25. That was the 2nd handgun I ever owned, cost a wopping $60 in 83, bought it from Freidmans. If they don't jam then there's something wrong with it. Interesting story I remember. Anyone else remember Ellie Nesler? Back in 1990, she snuck a Raven .25 into a court room in California and shot her sons rapist in the head point blank 5 times. I think she got 3 years. What amazed me is that she shot all 5 rounds without the little popper jamming.

Except for the grip, those H&R revolvers look exactly the same as they always have. I have an 80's NEF(AKA H&R) .32H&R mag with a shorter barrell and have had at one time a double action NEF.22 with a 6" barrell, frames all look the same. While inexpensive I never considered them a cheapo as far as quality goes, I think they are durable, tough, decently built but ugly revolvers.

But but, I have beer and .22 ammo with me. Can I come on in?
-
Well i'm not going to make an absolute judgement on this handgun because of this video, maybe the shooter isn't telling the whole story, he claims he shot Cor Bon PRball which is 100 grain +p and the barrell failed after 5 shots. I've watched a couple of other videos where the shooter in that video shot 115 grain +p ammo in one and it functioned fine. I also found this review. Another video the guy states that Dimondback doesn't recommend +p ammo because of excessive slide wear but nothing is stated about barrells failing, anyway, the barrell split on this particular DB9 for whatever reason and if the reason is only a 10% increase in pressure then it's not a handgun I would trust with any ammo. It's hard for me to believe that that was the reason the barrell failed.
-
I wouldn't award anybody any money either if I was on the jury but what "should be" isn't always the case. There are plenty of people who would blame the gun maker. I don't reload and not too familiar with pressures but in a search I read that there's only about/around a 10% increase in pressure from most 9mm standard and 9mm +p. I still think a barrell shouldn't split. Glock, Ruger and other makers can make affordable lightweight guns that can handle +p ammo in most all calibers.
-
I have a great idea for handgun makers. Design ALL your handguns to handle +p ammo, add an ounce or two of weight and tac on $50 to $100 extra bucks to the price. Better than loosing a lawsuit for 200K to 1 million.
-
Well at least for me, I want a handgun with a barrell that will tolerate a little more pressure than what is recomended. I would think that a handgun manufacturer that made a 9mm would realize that even though they printed in their manual not to fire +p ammo that someone out there will no doubt fire +p ammo through it. Design it for something else to break, not split the freaking barrell and potentially damage someones trigger finger. I don't care if it's the shooters fault for not following manufacture's recomendations, we all know how jurys are and they are takeing a risk of loosing a lawsuit. Dumb people will cost you money, make your barrells stronger.
