  1.   They also need to "immediatly" cancel any more American astronaunts from going to the space station, somehow get any Americans home from the space station. It's a national embarrassment that we don't have a current vehicle to go and come back from space, they could go to the Smithsonian and retrieve an old Apollo capsule from the early 70s when we had the technology to make trips to space on our own and bring them back, they seem to be reliable.
  2. I guess everything imported from Russia, especially weapons will go up in price somewhat. My nefew has 2 Nagant revolvers, funny thing about the Nagant revolver is it fires a ballistically "pathetic" cartridge if I remember reading right, even with the gas sealing cylinder. Not much better than the .32 S&W long I believe. They are however a neat design and fun to plink/shoot, a novility gun that used to be cheap. Got this off Wikipedia site. Italy - Fiocchi manufactures cartridges in this chambering; they fire 6.4 g (98 gr) FMJ bullets at about 260 m/s (850 ft/s), which works out to an energy of 213 J (157 ft·lbf)—comparable to a .32 ACP semi-automatic.
  3.   Glad to welcome anyone who  believes in the constitution and individual rights moving to Tennessee.
  4.   In other words, our best bet right now is importers buying from Non-Russian companies who currently make 7.62x39. Anyway I found this on the Fox News site. I'm definatly holding on to my MAK90 and my ammo right now.   http://www.foxbusiness.com/industries/2014/07/21/gun-buyers-scoop-up-ak-47-rifles-after-new-sanctions/?intcmp=obnetwork
  5. Hell yea... Even though i'm sure the liberals in Maryland don't care, probably see it as a victory for them. They don't care about the people who will loose their job, just their political anti-gun agenda. That's what gets me is that some dolts still believe the democrats and liberals stand up for the little guy BS. That's okay, Tennessee will gladly have them and those good employees who wish to move here and escape socialism. There will be plenty of new jobs for Tennesseans also.
  6.   I can only assume there's nothing illegal about having a dummy/training inert grenade since they openly sell them at different places in Tennessee, don't know about other states, it may be illegal to even say grenade in New Jersey. People need to stop being such bed wetters. It didn't even bother me to hold a live grenade in basic, however I was motivated to make sure I threw it far and over the block wall I was behind. Even live they are not just going to expload by themselves. In training there was a scenerio where we would come up from behind an enemy bunker and toss a grenade in it but we had to let it "cook off" for 2 seconds before we tossed it in so they didn't have time to throw it back. Yea right, i'm really going to let a grenade cook off in my hand before I throw it.
  7.   I've only seen video clips of ammo being manufactured so I really don't know what it takes on an industrial scale to produce millions of cartridges, but ten years seems like a long time. I'll take your word for it since you do have the experience. I'm sure investors see it as a gamble to spend the $$ right now.
  8. Well the scopes went fine today, glad I could eat finally. The Prilosec is working good on my stomach and nothing else but a polyp which is pretty commen in us old farts. Good to go for 5 + years now.
  9. Funny statement, it says the "EXPERTS" couldn't tell if it was live or inert. Really? I have an inert or training ww2 m2k (pinapple) grenade bought for $4 at the gun show a few years ago, they are open at the bottom, of course no explosive, just the body to screw in a new fuse for training practice, the fuse pops like a firecracker, I threw a bunch of M67 hollow practice grenedes in boot camp. All the "expert" has to do is unscrew the fuse and look inside and if it's open at the bottom it's a good sign that it's a inert training grenade. :screwy:
  10. Congrats.
  11. Here's a big list of quotes from Will Rogers.
  12. This should have been first. 45 years ago today.
  13. "Supposin' I was to go to work and learn how to... to read writin'. Well, how'd I know that the feller that... that wrote the writin' was a writin' the writin' right? See it could be that he wrote the writin' all wrong. Here I'd be just a readin' wrong writin', don't ya see?" [Festus Haggen]   He's faster than a greased rattle snake toung tied to a bolt of lightning. [Festus Haggen]
  14.   In their minds, if you're are black and have a HCP or licence then you're a black republican right winger, Uncle Tom or Aunt Jemimah. Liberal blacks hate conservative blacks alot worse than they do old fart conservative white men becuase they don't tow the liberal line like they're supposed to.
  15.     One of my favorite quotes and also very true.
  16.   Well if they have any smarts at all they will be alot more careful next time. Somehow I expect they will soon forget and let something like this happen again just to get that first scoop.
  17.   That's life when you get up in age, you start getting stuck with more probs and needles. I'm getting mine done at the VA, years ago I believe at M.Boro they infected a few vets with disease after a colonoscopy because they didn't sterilize the equipment properly. That's the kind of thing that makes you say EEEWWWWW.
  18.   I usually don't open pop ups but this was a so-called Java update that fooled me. I'm going to be overly cautious now no matter what they say or how they look. Just go to their site and update.
  19.   I've had one before about 6 years ago, at least they knock you out for it, that's one test I wouldn't want to be awake for. I think they are doing both since I had those bleeding ulcers a while back, I'll be sure to tell them to scope my stomach first. :ugh:
  20.   What really stinks is a rainy Saturday when you can eat breakfast, then drink chicken broth, clear jello and clear popcicles for the rest of the day, then all day sunday including drinking a gallon of cholyte later. Guess what test i'm having Monday? :yuck:
  21. Mine was the first hunting rifle i've ever owned. I bought it back in 83, I sold it to my brother who later sold it back to me which i'm glad I have it back now. I would consider the 30-30 a medium game cartridge, good for white tail in Tennessee but I would choose something a little more powerful if I ever went on an elk hunt out west. I couldn't get MOA groups at 100yds with iron sights but I can place them in a 6" kill zone all day long. The most fun I have with it is target and plinking, it's just a fun enjoyable gun to shoot.
  22. Should have posted this Wednesday when I paid $110 and got my computer back from the doctor who cleaned 39 viruses and a truck load of malware from it.   If some Java update pop up comes up, DON'T CLICK IT.   I did that Monday and I was attacked by belt fed full auto explorer windows popping up on my screen. I already had viruses and malware that Microsoft Security Essentials didn't catch. Anyway, the doc gave me good advice that I should have followed in the first place. Don't open any pop up, even if it's an important program and looks official. Go directly to their website to update. I now have Avast anti-virus and Super anti-spyware scan installed. The Java update pop up looks official even down to their logo.
  23. I don't have a dog anymore so i'm going to install a gillotine blade above my doggie door for burglers.      Just kidding.
  24.   I did read some of the language in SB142 that specifically mentions permit holders, maybe next year's sessions gun owners can push to change that language to amend SB142 to include any lawful gun owner. I mean if it's out of sight in your vehicle why not? I know SB142 and SB1774 isn't everything we wanted but I still feel they are a step in the right direction, much better than some liberal controled states that pass legislation to limit a citizens 2nd. amendment rights. I will advise friends and family that they are still limited by the old laws concerning prohibited places.
  25. Okay, without reading all the posts in this thread I will ask these questions. If they have been covered I apoligize. So SB1774 basically says in non-lawyer(laymans) terms that anyone who can legally own a handgun but doesn't have a HCP can posses a loaded(mag in and chambered) handgun in their vehicle without being charged with a crime. That's what I understand about SB1774. I guess my question is, and I assume it also applies to anyone who does not have a HCP, that they are also protected by the SB142 "guns in trunks"(bad nickname) law. That they can leave their handgun in their vehicle out of sight on property that is posted without being charged unless they refuse to leave the property if told to do so by the property owner. The charge would be tresspassing. That may be a dumb inquiry but I just want to clarify it before I advise my friends and sister about possessing a loaded handgun in their vehicle.   I am also embarrassed that I didn't keep up with recent gun laws and wasn't aware that 1774 had passed and became law, I was aware vehicle carry(possession) was being discussed in the legislature. I was keeping track of the new knife law, I guess the local news channels did a good job of hiding SB1774 from the public.
