  1. Ft. Jackson Tank Hill 1980. Had more pics that got lost between Jackson, Benning and Ft. Stewart, really wish I had them now. The pic doesn't show much, that was one of my friends at Jackson, I can't remember his name though, you meet alot of people in basic and AIT. Those were definatly vintage barraks that have alot of history from WW2. I highly doubt they still exist now. My dad was somewhere at Tank Hill before being sent to airborn training back in 43 which I have to assume was at Benning then, it was pretty new at that time. 2.   Years ago I had my nefew shot quite a few 22s from a Marlin model 60 when he was 10 then he really wanted to shoot my SKS, the first mag I had a grip on the forearm, I could see he could handle it okay but I still stayed close by his side for a while. Build them up slowly to the bigger guns.
  3.   Thanks. It only fits blue jeans but that's what I wear 99.9% of the time.
  4.   Start them out shooting alot of .22's first to learn the basics of shooting. A full-auto Uzi is just too much for a 9 year old girl. Stupid tragic accident and in no way is the little girl to blame for anything. I hope they keep telling her that over and over so she believes it but i'm afraid she's scarred for life from this.
  5. Well I don't know anything specific to prepare for these days, you don't have to live in the hood to be a home invasion victim or a car jack victim. I also am not going to walk around the house with my 870 or holster for my Glock 21 all the time. I do however keep my SP101 in a homemade pocket holster around the house so I do have a gun on me wherever i'm at. When i'm out i'll have my Glock holstered, if i'm on my bed sleeping or watching TV I have my 870 handy. If someday SHTF, i'll keep my MAK-90 with me and my Glock holstered. 6.   What else would a new felon do with his guns since he can't own them anymore? The court just says he can't own or possess any firearms, they don't have the police search his home and seize them so he has to have someone take possession of them.
  7.   I just heard the ad for the Reliant today, don't get to listen to Phil as much as I used to. I looked up the COP also, I believe I would rather have the .357 COP. It is just a novility, a good snubby is one shot better. Keep it in your car where you could draw it quick in a fight with a car jacker. Aiming wont be an issue then, wouldn't have to have a perfect grip, just dump 4 quick .357s in him while holding his arm with the knife in his hand. It would probably be better for that kind of defense scenerio where you need to draw quick and fire while in a physical fight. But then again a good snubby would be just as good or better.
  8.   Guess they need to start measuring peoples heads in calibers.
  9.   How do you check the rifling for copper/lead buildup with a bore light? I'll look down a barrell but i'm 100% absolutly positive that the gun is not loaded when I do. I don't look down barrells that have cartridges in the chamber.
  10. Back in 80 close to graduation when I joined, I first wanted my mos. to be a truck driver, I believe 88M but later had it changer to 11Bravo Infantry. I was all set to go to Ft. Jackson in June of 80 but 2 weeks before HS graduation my appendix ruptured and had to delay my basic training date to August 5th. As far as I knew basic was at Ft. Jackson,(tank hill where my dad took his basic training in 43), and AIT was at Benning. After my 5th week in basic the Army decided I along with some others should have been at Benning all along so we were put on a bus and sent to Benning where I was placed in a company only in their 3rd week. Guess who got 2 extra weeks of basic training. Well I would have complained but, well I don't have to explain to any military people here.
  11.   Anyone who says "clips" around me I always tell them there are no "clips" available that hold more than 10 rounds of ammo. SKS clips hold 10, Mosin Nagant clips hold only 5, even M1 Garand clips hold only 8. Now I believe there was some crappy Japaneese WW2 machine gun that used "clips" that held 30 rounds each but I doubt you can find them easily.
  12. I heard on some show about the Presidents that Lincoln made a joke, he said, some of my critics have called me two faced, if i'm two faced then why am I wearing this one? That was a pretty good one if he said it.
  13.   There are some that use their stardom for real chairty work like feeding starving people or getting them medical care, i'll give them a   for that. When the use their stardom for political activism they get a :snore:
  14.   I still like Hunt For Red October even though Baldwin stars in it, i'm not going to let the fact that he's an idiot off stage ruin a good movie for me. after all his ranting and raving about moving to Canada if Bush got re-elected, at the end of the day it made no difference whatsoever, Bush got re-elected and he didn't move to Canada. All it accomplished was to make alot of people laugh at him.
  15. I made a personal decision years ago when some Hollywood actors like Rosie O'Doughnut and Alec Baldwin and some others went off on their anti-gun rants not to give a rats ass what they thought or had to say about my guns. They are just entertainers and nothing more, they certainly are not heros. One of the funniest comedy sketches I ever heard is when Clooney made his speech about how actors like him were somehow more enlightened to the world than everyone else, I never knew Clooney could be that funny. What was even more hillarious is he actually thinks that's true, I never knew Clooney could be such an idiot. Many of them, obviously Clooney have become dis-connected with reality and the world getting anything they want anytime and having idiots kiss their ass all the time. I guess that's where some of them get their opinion of regular working folk from the ones who cater to them and kiss their ass. I like watching movies and listening to music as much as anyone else, I have my favorite bands and actors and enjoy watching and hearing the perform but they are just people like anyone else, no more special or important than anyone else.
  16.   What about if you have an aunt in Georgia who may decide some day to let you "have" your late uncles L.C. Smith double? I always thought it would have to go to an FFL dealer and cost some money for a legal transfer to Tennessee. It also would be a gift, not a sale if it did happen.
  17.   Well technically they would be his dads firearms, if he gave them to him before the actual conviction that he knew was comming. His dad would be the owner/seller and would recieve the money. Any money he gave to his son later would just be a gift from dear old dad.   The moral of the story is, I personally don't smoke pot and don't want it even near me but if you do, find out what the misdomenor amount and felony amount is to have with you, and people you think are your friends might crap on you to save their own skin. My personal suggestion, don't smoke the crap and you wont have any problems.
  18. Here's a "hypothetical" question. Say if a guy you used to work with just got a brand new felony conviction, had to get rid of his guns so he "gave" them to his dad or had his dad take possession of them, he needed money obviously so you decided to buy one from his dad figuring his dad was giving him money for legal expenses etc. that would be perfectly legal wouldn't it? You are technically buying it from his dad, he can't own or possess firearms anymore so he has to have someone take possession of them, it's not illegal to buy from a non-felon(his dad) and it's not illegal for his dad to give him money for his expenses.
  19.   That happened Tuesday and they hadn't "added" that to their demonstrations/riots yet. Is this the first day the video came out? That might spark something but it's been 2 days after that confrontation.   From the artical:     Well he got what he asked for, literally. So what would any of us do in that situation? A crazy man pulling out a knife, walking towards you and telling you to shoot him knowing you have a gun? If the testimony is true that Michael Brown charged officer Darren Wilson, knowing Wilson had his gun drawn then there's another factor to consider, anyone not scared of a gun and comes at you anyway will kill you if he gets to you. That type of "I don't give a crap" mentality makes someone much more dangerous. That's just my opinion though but I think it makes sense, at least to me. By the way, someone comes at me with a knife and is close enough, I plan on shooting at their torso until they fall down.
  20.   You would have alot of people watch it on youtube but I would still want a DVD, I think some people would rather watch that on a TV screen than their computer.
  21.   Well it's not my place to tell PA. what they should do plus I hate legislating everything that's why I said the NRA could "suggest" discussion of state laws in classes. I remember that being a pretty big part in my class many moons ago. I'm also for constitutional carry, I often kringe when I hear the word "mandatory" on just about anything these days.  I just wish that people who want to carry or even just buy a firearm for home protection would have some reading material, DVD, and really take a voluntary class on safety, defense and defense scenerios, and state and federal laws. I've had this idea, it's one of those if I were a billionair pipe dreams that I would produce a video on cheap DVD's to be "given" to anyone who buys a firearm, handed out at gun shows and other venues to any and everybody that will take one. It will have celebrities like Joe Mantegna and some other gun celebs like Jerry Miculek and some youtube guys like Hickok45 to make the video entertaining so people would watch it. It would cover safety(safe handling), how firearms basically work, safety, firearms storage from children, safety, defense and scenerios, safety, give information on how to check their state laws, federal laws and also safety if I didn't mention that already. I wouldn't make it too long so not to loose the viewer, It would have a serious message mixed with some humor and entertainment, some cool exibition shooting from Jerry but mainly a basic education video about firearms, handling, defense situations, storage, laws and how to find them and firearm safety. I maybe wrong but I bet you could produce mass amounts of DVD's pretty cheap, that is like the cost of a single DVD to a person, a firearms dealer could tack on $1 per purchase, or just give it free if they buy a $400+ firearm. If you had the right people in it to make it entertaining and interesting and not just some boring educational video I bet alot of people would watch it.
  22.   We were issued "well used" M16A1's. both in basic and at Ft's Stewart. I'm sure most of them were dragged from one end of S. Vietnam to the other.
  23.   I don't know the rules and regs of each state when it comes to HCP or license instructors, if it's mandatory they be an NRA certified instructor or not but the NRA should strongly suggest that a big portion of every HCP class should deal with the law and laws of other states. I know you can't go into detail of every state and their laws but just like the more important aspects of defense training, drill and drill and drill again into them to check for themselves any laws in any states you may be visiting regarding firearms. It doesn't sound like that was a part of this womans class or they made a breif suggestion of it that she forgot. I doubt if the black community will come to her defense because she cared enough to follow the law in the first place and legally carry a gun in her state, was a decent working law abiding citizen that cooperated with police and didn't resist arrest. She would probably be seen as a collaborator with the evil white establishment so the race baiters and opportunists like Sharpton and Jackson will not defend her in any way. Now if she carried without a permit and pulled and pointed her gun on the Jersey police and got herself shot, Jackson and Sharpton along with thousands of protestors would be on the streets protesting.
  24. Bloomberg and these NY anti-gun politicians could care less about these employees loosing their jobs and probably hope Remington moves out completly. I'm sure they see the employees as enemies of socialism for working for such an evil company.
  25. Get action DVD (No Chick Flicks)???  Do they have those there??? Oh wait, i'm thinking about the old video stores with "chick flicks" in the back room that said 21 or older. They had alot of action in them too.
