  1. The way I understood it from the sales guy at walmart in Dickson, only .22 was being rationed, no other caliber. Of course they were all out, he said when they get their shipment in it's gone in an hour most of the time.
  2.   Maybe I call some people "stupid" or "idiot" when they do or say something stupid or idiotic, actually everybody does or says something dumb every now and then BUT, I have known some people like the example you are talking about who just amaze me how stupid they really are. Where do they hear crap like that, or do they have some mental issue where they make stupid stuff up and expect everybody to believe them? The sad thing is, is that there are many who are just  ignorant about the subject and are niave enough to believe them.
  3. It's been so long since I bought any .22, I had a bulk box and some other small boxes for a long time, shot a few hundred the last range session. I wouldn't really know what I should pay for a box of Federal bulk or a 100-count box of some good quality Remington. I don't think i've ever paid over $5 for a box of .22, even the best stuff.
  4. Looking for .22, of course Walmart in Dickson was out, also The Sportsman Store was out. So, I bought a box of 20-Honaday Critical Defense flex tip 220grain in .45ACP for $25, that's what I keep loaded in my Glock 21. Bought a 50-count box of Blaser Brass 230grain FMJ in .45ACP for $19, not a bad price, a box of 50-Blaser Brass 158grain .357MAG JHP for $19 and a 20-box of Federal 150 grain 30-30 SP for $14. May get some more of that 30-30 and shoot my Marlin a little next week. Still have about 400 rnds of .22 I was holding on to, I refuse to buy .22 from a dealer at the gun show so i'll have to wait I guess till the .22 shortage eases somewhat. I'm beginning to think it wont.
  5.   Exactly.   Back in mid 2007 I stayed with my dad for his last several months, he had in his living will not to be hooked up to any machines or tubes or respirator and didn't want to be imprisoned in a hospital or nursing home. He had emphsema and I drove him everywhere to the doctor and just rides in the country, maintained his oxygen machine and bottles and administered his breathing treatments, made him vitimin milk shakes when he couldn't eat anymore and for the last two weeks it was a 24 hour job. My mom who was 79 at the time didn't have the strenght to do all that. When he died he was in his bed in his own room in his own house with all the family there. He may have lived another month or two in some noisey sterile hospital hooked up to tubes and a respirator with strangers around him but I have no regrets keeping him at home and taking care of him, I know he was happier to have it that way. I would however have a huge regret if I were to make him stay in some nursing home forcing him to live in misery for just one or two months, it tore my heart out to loose him but I couldn't force him to live for such a short painfull and miserable time more, that would have been selfish on my part if I did.
  6. I'm not getting a poll about guns from that site. It's MSNBC so if the poll doesn't go their way they will simply change it so that it will. They will flat out lie and not have one regret whatsoever about it.
  7. I have experienced horrible pain before when a snapped my femur into back in 86 but I new then that that would eventually go away, I can't imagine having that level of pain knowing it will never go away and even get worse, also knowing it will definatly kill me soon anyway.  Personally I think it would be cruel of me to ask someone going through that to continue to endure horrible pain because of my personal beliefs, I wont go into the religious aspects of it. Like I said, it's not my place or anyone elses to judge or decide for them. Even the animals know when it's time, they will go off and lay down and quit fighting when their time is up so one can argue it's natural to let go of this life when it's time.
  8. It's not my place to judge her, I think it would be cruel to force her to suffer in agony just for a few weeks or a month. That's not living, just existing.
  9.   Ahh, nothing wrong with "looking" at pretty women and wishing you were 25 again, that's about all some of us can do these days. Heck, my old ugly ars would probably get turned down by a meth addicted prostitute nowadays.
  10.   I answered the first 8 questions, clicked next step and it said, "thank you for filling out the survey" and that was it. What private property question are you refering to?
  11.   I would say just as easy as hitting a deer especially if it's a little dark, they just trot out from behind some folage right into your path. My insurance repaired my truck after I hit a deer and I only had liability and comprehensive coverage since it was a 1996 model. Comprehensive covered it since they determined it was not my fault, just ran right out of the woods right into my truck.
  12. One question was interesting and should be a no-brainer. Any legislator or pollster or journalist etc. who intentionally falsifies any information or statistic to effect legislation or a vote should definatly be charged with a crime. It's a wonder as to why anyone has to ask the question in the first place. I always thought Dan Rather should have been indited along with his conspirators when he ran a story based on a false/manufactured document about Bush's National Guard record just days before a national election in an desperate attempt to affect the election. The reality is that people like Dan Rather and some others are immune from justice.
  13.   Well we have to go through 4 more years of Haslam, it's a long way off till we have to elect another Governor. Maybe some new name will shine in the next 4 years, we'll just have to see.
  14. Done. Was there any other answer besides yes?  :)
  15. Wasn't she indited for something? I usually don't wish bad on anyone but in her case I hope she is busted and has to resign. If the crime isn't too bad resigning will satisify me.
  16. That cat could probably wup them little dogs anyway.
  17. Sounds like an old school spanking, i've been on the recieving of a few of those. A bruise? Well that's not uncommon with an old school wipping, now if he were cut that would be different. Can't tell if he went too far or not, of course with todays political correctness any spanking is going too far unless you are Alek Baldwin then you can scream at your little 12 year old daughter and call her stupid and a little pig, somehow I think a spanking is less harmful than assualting a little kid verbally, that can cause a wound that wont heal. Could be that Khris went too far with it though, he will have his day in court.
  18. It's not that some people can't understand the simple language and meaning of the 2nd Amendment, they simply refused to because they don't agree with what our founding fathers wrote and believed in. I don't have a college degree but it's obvious to me who "The People" are what the 2nd Amendment affirms, the 2nd Amendment couldn't have been more simple and straight forward. Most of these "progressives" have built a fortress around them and will not allow any other idea or thought to enter no matter what it is. These so-called "progressives" should really be called "Regressives" because their ideals and philosophy isn't progressive, the same ideals and philosophy have'nt changed since the beginning of written history. The philosophy that only a certain number of elitists will rule and judge the masses, the peasants have no decision how they live their lives because the ruling elitists only have the intellect to determine what's best for them. Those progressive ideals have been around since the Pharaohs of Egypt, the Romans, the bolshevik revolution, the third reich and now modern socialism which isn't modern.
  19.   The details about his case are still pretty vauge, If it does turn out that one single doctor was able to do this to him the laws definatly need to be changed to prevent one single person to ruin another persons life weather he/she has a degree or not and if it is ever ruled there was no basis to rule that David Sarti was a danger to himself or anyone else, there should be consequences against the doctor like loosing his practice. Simply refusing medical treatment is not supposed to be against the law. I have no idea what David said to the doctor but to go that far there needs to be a hearing to prove the doctors allegations of him being suicidal and a danger with proper defense for those being accused. Besides, if someone was truely suicidal and ever made the big decision there's many ways to accomplish their task besides using a firearm. To have a state law on the books like New York is proposing that makes it too easy to accuse someone no matter who the accuser is and what their proof is, is an obvious violation of the Constitution.

    Fury

My nefew is big into war history, especially WW2 and has seen it twice so i'll probably go see it with him this week.   They should remove the gunbuster sign and replace it with a phonebuster sign. What would be the legality of a theater jamming cell phones?
  21. Say it like it is, some states just blatantly and arrogantly betray the Constitution, ignore the very ideals America was built on. Most of these states were the first states to defy and rebel against the crown of England, the very first states to become the United States of America. Now these states that were governed once by patriots are now governed by traitors. Strong words? Not at all, it's the truth, it's time to start calling them what they are. What else would you call leaders who would dispose of the very document they swore an oath to follow and defend, totally ignore the very rights of the citizens this document affirmed and guaranteed just to write their own authoritarian laws to reflect their Un-American socialist ideals. Traitors, nothing more, nothing less.
  22. Well, you know what they used to say in the old country.   &#$% it.
  23.   I don't want to be shot by a .22 either and i'm sure most bad guys don't but we have seen a few who just don't care, especially when they are on crack or meth or even worse, having withdrawls from it and they need more. For those you may have to shoot multable times with a 9mm or .45 in the torso/chest to kill them, the only way to stop them. I plan and I tell people like my mom and her friend to keep shooting until they are gone or fall face first on the floor, don't stop till they stop. Now I also have an 870 by my bed with an 18" barrell and loaded with 4- 00Buck loads, I had a cheap mag extention but the spring would hang and cause it not to feed sometimes, can't have that. Besides if I get a center chest hit with a 12guage at no more than 5 yards one will be all I need anyway, at least for that bad guy. It would be very rare for a 12guage 00Buck load not to get a one shot stop if shot in the torso/chest.
  24.   I know you're in Knoxville but you know they closed those places down in Nashville in the 90's.
