1.   One of those custom GP100s .357 magnum? I saw one with Novac sights that look a little tougher than a blade sight, I would want to carry that.
2. :)
3. Never heard of a .454 "magnum". I have owned a .454 Cassull, which is a magnum. How would you fire the launcher? I assume the video game explains that. :)
4. Well I would really like this to be my next gun. http://www.ruger.com/products/sr762/index.html
5. That will get a kid expelled from public school and sent to some juvy reform school.
6. So sorry Dave, I know how heartbroken you must be right now.
7.   Not really different than politicians from decades past, still the same ol "good ol boys network", the same club that all the Clements, Blantons, Alexanders belong to. I'm not worried about any anti-gun legislation ever being passed in Tennessee, they know they have to be re-elected in Tennessee. I'm pretty sure decades ago the popular Senator Al Gore from Tennessee actually had an "A" rating from the NRA. Once he became Vice President on the national stage and "ASSUMED" he didn't have to be concerned with what all us Tennessee hillbillys thought anymore, he showed his true colors of a socialist liberal. We all know very well his assumption was wrong when us Tennessee hillbillys rejected him in the 2000 Presidential election which was the deciding factor, not Flroida, in him loosing. 11 electorial votes from his own state would have given him the election but they went soundly to his opponent. I would hope that some of these other back scratching politicians would have learned a lesson from that but I didn't and wont hold my breath on that. Senators and Congressmen still have to vote the way their constituents want them to vote or they are in danger of early retirement as we saw in the last election and we should see today in Louisiana.
8.     As Mayor of Knowville Haslam was a proud card carrying member of Bloombergs "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" which is no different than Mothers Demand Action or the Brady Campaign, all radical anti-2nd Amendment organizations whose ultimate real goal is to disarm every citizen in the United States completly. He only quit and "claimed" he didn't know their true agenda after deciding to run for Governor of Tennessee. A tiger can't change their stripes, he's the poster boy for the typical politician who will tell everyone what they want to hear with no intention of following through with what he says most of the time. I know he's signed a few bills but he HAD TO and he knows he had to because he's the typical politician. Put him on a national stage and watch him change again, I am 99.99% positive he's the very RINO that would support and sign some assualt weapons ban in a heartbeat, he's a thin Chris Christy. I do not believe he has much of a chance in a primary to run for POTUS, he would be one of those names at the bottom of the persentage total in the low single didgets which i'm glad. I hope that bafoon lying RINO Christy is right on the bottom of the total with Haslam. My campaign slogan for anyone running against Haslam would be, Make Haslam a Hasbeen.
9.   We had our drills back in the early 80s but there wasn't much danger of being deployed overseas at the time. We did wonder if we would ever be deployed to Iran but a funny thing happed, the Iranians released the embassy hostages the very day Ronald Reagan was inagerated. Wonder why? There was some Central America stuff going on then but nothing that the U.S. would get "directly" involved in. I remember cheering on Iraq and Saddam back then to kick Irans ars in their war, funny how things can change. We did however deploy to Eglin Air Force base in Florida for 35 days, loaded all the APC's, M-60 Patton tanks on some huge cargo ship in the Savannah River and took busses to Eglin to unload. I only got to bathe 3 times in 35 days, I learned that you will reach a certain point of stink and you can't stink any worse after that. I called it "terminal stink". We loaded all the vehicals back on flatbed train cars for the return trip back to Stewart and we got to fly back on a 707, Arrow Air, the charter service the Army used then. It was a couple of years after that I believe when the 101st lost alot of soldiers when an Arrow Air flight crashed in Newfoundland.
10.   Sounds like the dude seriously needs some psychiatric evaluation.
11.   Yes, as long as someone is active duty i'm 99% sure it's required to have it on you, at least that's what I remember. Also I remember when going on leave we had to write a phone number on a clipboard at the desk in the barraks where you can be reached if you had to be called back. The 24th at the time was part of the rapid deployment force.
12.   Usually the antis would give someone a bunch of crap if they see them open carrying a handgun but if they saw someone carrying a High Point all they would say is EEEWWWWWW. Or people would think they are a hair dresser carrying around their black hair dryer on their side. Might be a good way to get pity discounts at restaurants though.
13.   I have a brush that came with a handgun I bought, it's a .45 caliber nylon brush perminantly attached to a wire coil that I have used after bending the wire 90 degrees to get into the chamber of my 30-30. It's a little awkward but it will work somewhat.
14.   Yep, he could have pulled out his wallet and showed the guy his photo military ID. Easy enough and you never go anywhere without it weather in uniform or civies.
15.   I eqipped one of my mom's friend with a .22 a while back, it was an RG 6 shot double action revolver. I know it's a cheapo but it will shoot and not break, I unloaded a cylinder full and cleaned it before I gave it to her so i'm confident it's safe to shoot, she's 75 and that's what she wanted, a .22 because she used to have one. She knows how to use it and dry fired it several times so I know she can pull the trigger. If I have anything bigger I will not carry a .22 myself. now if that's all I had I would definatly carry it because I sincerly believe it's better than a sharp stick. Oh, and I went outside, cut and sharpened a stick for when she shot all 6 rounds because they are hard to eject in that cheap revolver.      Not really.  :)   My mom has a 5 shot .32H&R mag. still a little small for me but much better than a .22, she's shot it a few times.
16.   Do you remove the trigger group and bolt? My brother has one in 30-06, years ago I cleaned and lubed it but can't remember how to remove the bolt but the trigger group comes out just like an 870 after you remove the 2 pins. I remember it was harder to re-install though. Like I said I don't remember alot about taking it down but I would think you could get something in the chamber with an empty reciever.
17.   I know all about the gators, seems like every swampy pond or lake was full of them. Never saw any of them over 4 or 5 feet though. Only saw a couple of pigs driving a jeep at night post guard duty.
18.     Yea that boggles my mind also, I would highly advise anyone to "NOT" openly carry their handgun in Massachusetts, "NOT" have a handgun or any firearm whatsoever in Massachusetts, "NOT" even have an NRA decal on your vehicle in Massachusetts, "NOT" even say the word "GUN" in Massachusetts. Of course it's my opinion to "NOT" go to Massachusetts period.
19.   I'm on a regular HP PC, it's some little quirk that could be fixed probably easily because I had no issues with that not long ago. I think I need to upgrade a flash player or install a new one. I upgraded Windows flash player but that didn't solve the problem. The 24th. no longer exists, they are now the 3rd infantry just after the 1st. Gulf war. I started skydiving after the Army, I had friends that had their jump wings and I thought that had to be the coolest thing but at the time I didn't want to re-enlist and go to jump school. I don't know what the percentage is but probably 2/3rds of those who are sent to the Ranger battalions never get their tab and are transferred to other units, at least it was in the 80s, quite a few soldiers had jump wings in the 24th even though it was a mechinized and armor division.
20. For some reason I can't get sound on videos posted here, I have to go on youtube to hear it. Actually I was sent to Ft. Jackson, spent 5 weeks of basic there then I and some others from different companys were called to battalion HQ and told to pack our duffle bags because we wern't supposed to be there. We were bused to Ft. Benning I believe the next day and I was put in a company only 3 weeks into basic so I had the privilidge of having 2 extra weeks of basic and AIT. What I think may have happened when I enlisted in High School I originally enlisted as a truck driver, something something charlie I believe and was to be stationed at Ft. Ustes Virgina. Some time after I went to my recruiters office and had him change my MOS to 11B and stationed at Ft. Stewart Ga. My original destination was Ft. Jackson and the Army never changed that till 5 weeks in but I do believe anyone who is 11B would go to Benning these days, and back in the 80's. Now my dad was in the 101st and he went to Jackson but during WW2 I guess they had to use many Army posts for infantry, besides basic is infantry training no matter what your MOS is, AIT however is training on what your MOS is so if you are 11B, AIT is just advanced basic. About the video, i've never seen a Ranger in that bad of physical shape, also I believe there are only 2 posts for ranger battalions, I think one is Ft. Lewis WA. and the other is Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah Ga. jus about 50 miles from Ft. Stewart. We had quite a few Ranger washouts that were transferred from Hunter to the 24th. or 2x4 as the Rangers called us.
21.   That is probably the best response, no response. If they send the company letters, put them on your advertizing list, start sending them a bunch of flyers and postcards advertizing your product. Kroger should start sending them a paper with all their grocery sales, whole chickens $1.75 per pound.
22. I'll never start a corporation, especially one that may get the attention of MDA or any other anti-gun group but I do have a basic form letter to send to any of them.
23.   Yea, i've lost some of mine, not enough for a device. I've "injured" my eardrum before while shooting, a friend let loose of my 1911 when I had one once before I put my earplugs in, it was my fault because he thought I had them in and I told him to go ahead, I was standing back and beside him. I had a static sound for a couple of days then it cleared up. Sounds like the OP just got some inflamation that will clear after a while.
24.   Had a Raging Bull in .454 Cassull some time ago, mostly bought it for a novility but I figured it was basically a hunting pistol so I took it deer hunting a couple of times, didn't see anything to shoot that day. One silly thing about that Raging Bull, it was bright polished stainless, why would you take a "MIRROR" with you hunting? Had to cover it while sitting in the woods, make it a matt finish. That would be my carry gun if I were to go hiking out west in moose and griz country, might need a 300 grain bullet going 1200fps.
25. I have heard that tree or bush roots can grow through or collapse the line to a septic tank.
