1.   I used to have one of those cheapo Uncle Mikes soft pocket holsters that worked okay, the one I made holds the gun more stable in the pocket but it will only work with blue jean pockets which I wear jeans 98.05% of the time, the other 1.95% i'm in the shower and guess what? My gun is on the sink in the bathroom then. Just think of how vunerable you are in the shower if bad guy tries a home invasion then. You might have to shoot bad guy in your birthday suit but you can throw your pants on before the police get there if your're still alive.
2. I made this ugly thang a couple of years ago to fit my SP101 and fit in a blue jean pocket, it was specifically made for when i'm lounging around the house, carrying out the garbage etc. It's easy to grab the gun while in the holster and slip the whole package in the pocket and even draw it, it comes out when drawing and I can flick it off the handgun real quick. I've got it with me right now, I just wanted something that was fairly easy to tote a gun around the house and getting to it fairly quickly without putting on a belt holster which I do if I go out to the store etc.
3.   When i'm asleep it's on my nightstand, I know some of the arguments about a nightstand but my room is in the back of the house, they would have to bust through a thick wooden door with a standard lock and deadbolt which will not be quite and have to navigate through the house to get to me. Along with a G21 on a nightstand I have an 870 loaded with 00 beside my bed. No kids so no worry leaving them there but i'm good at securing them from kids when my neices brings their kids over which is seldom.
4.   That was sad, can't really say much about it except I want to retrieve my gun from my side if something happens. The brother was definatly disturbed to kill his sister, I can't imagine or understand that and i'm glad I can't imagine or understand it.
5. http://fox17.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/spring-hill-principal-killed-domestic-shooting-25827.shtml   http://fox17.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/21yearold-shoots-hermitage-home-invasion-suspects-25828.shtml   2nd story was in Hermatage, not Ruthoford Co.
6. I don't have a link, haven't checked Fox 17's site yet but I just heard two stories about self defense, defense of family. 1st story was about an elementry school principle shot and killed by her brother in Columbia, her husband shot and killed the brother, he had to retrieve his gun from his car the story said. 2nd story about a home invasion in Ruthord County, 2 men broke in and hit the home owner in the head with the butt of a shotgun and kicked him, the home owner made it to his room and got a pistol and shot and hit(???) the two suspects and they fled. Just repeating what the stories said.   1st story, if the husban had his gun on him instead of in the car there's a real possibility his wife would be alive and the brother dead unless he was in a different room, can't tell for sure but I sure don't want to have to get to my vehicle to get my gun if a situation happens. 2nd story, the man was very lucky he didn't get killed before he made it all the way to his room, if he had been wearing his gun there's a good chance he would have shot the invaders sooner and prevented a beating.   Some people may think you're a nut for carrying in your home, I don't care what they think, these are two perfect examples why I have my handgun on me at all times, i'm getting old and have orthopedic issues and just can't run through my house to get to a gun as fast as some drugged up 20 year old home invader.   I'm no self defense expert or instructor but my advice is at least have your firearm where you can get to it right away, if you don't want to carry a full size semi on your side all the time in the house at least a good snubby in a pocket holster is far better than nothing at all.
7. Wonder if his HCP class was lacking somewhat in explaining the state laws?
8. I'll hand over a loaded gun to SOME people I know and always tell them it's loaded and chambered. Some other people I know i'll unload it, and some others I wont hand it over at all because they would act like an idiot and treat it like a toy.
9. Glad you're okay, that's got to shake you up emotionally though. Dementia is a terrible disease, my grandmother kept having memories of the 1940's but couldn't remember us, it's terrible the way it attacks the mind, still glad you are okay.

11. You're one tough dude Bersaguy, i'll be having some good positive thought for you. Doctors can do some pretty amazing things these days, my moms 86 and has had a heart valve replacement and a aortic aneurism repaired and going strong so be confident that they will fix you up. Keep us up to date.   Jon.
12. My last post on this.   Travon Martan was no angle and he shouldn't have attacked Zimmerman, no excuse for that. There was no life threatening situation, Zimmerman is an idiot who wanted to act like Mr. Superhero and had no business going any futher than just calling the police. Zimmermans screwed up life IS ABSOLUTLY NO EXCUSE for hitting woman. That makes him far worse than Travon Martan. That really makes him a lowlife scumbag.
13.   No way i'll say anything nice about that racist and race baiter Sharpton but Zimmerman has some responsibility why his life is screwed up. My neighbor asked me to call him if I saw strange vehicles or kids on his property in front of my house, the old KS elementry school. That is all I will do is call him and let him know, I have no business going down there to confront anyone, if I did and there was a shooting I would be partly to blame no matter how it happened. Now if I think my neighbor is being murdered that may be different, can't say 100% what i'll do because I've never had to do it. Zimmerman should have stayed in his vehicle and out of sight and let the police handle any suspicious persons, he had a right to save his life but he started the situation.
14. I defended his right to defend himself against Travon Martin, I thought Travon was a thug in training but I also thought Zimmerman was partly responsible for the confrontation, not enough for a murder charge though. He was a cop wannabe who I believe I read he was turned down for the police acadamy who probably saw he wasn't cut out for it, he went ahead and got out of his vehicle when told not to, if you want to be a cop you should be physically fit enough to fight back against most people and obviously he wasn't. Anyway I agreed with the decision of the jury, 2nd degree murder charges were over the top. Now we see more of who Zimmerman is, this ordeal he's going through is no excuse, he was an idiot before and he's an idiot now and an out of control violent idiot. Probably beats on girls because he can't fight against a man.

16.   Well that's an easy fix, he loaded his AK47 mag backwards and it became an AK74, everybody knows that wont work. :taunt:
17.   Alot of things wrong with that. How did he get his fingers in front of the muzzle press checking it? Also, how did the TRIGGER GET PULLED press checking a Glock? Sounds like his method of press checking is alot more dangerous than that ol polymer Glock.
18.   Somebody really needs to tell that clown to his face what an idiot he really is and has no qualification giving stupid opinions and advice about guns and ammo, more people should complain to the managment, inform them they will no longer shop there while he's working and tell all their friends about him and not to shop there. Sounds like he doesn't need to be in any kind of customer service position of any kind, no telling what he would tell people if he worked in hardware or auto etc. I've seen those kind of bozos, they really tic me off. If you tell managment he's giving advice about how to kill a neighbors dog and you promise you will publisize that as much as you can they may do something then.
19.   I would hope that a LEO would be educated on gun laws, also firearms in general. Not just their duty weapons. I don't have any desire to buy a Judge, to me it would be mainly a novelity, I would rather have something more usefull but nothing wrong with wanting one, I have a few guns that are not exactly practical for much anything but fun. Actually I would think that Rossi Circuit Judge carbine would make a better HD weapon but i'll stick with my 870 for now. One thing that aggravates me and i've had to tell a couple of people not to do it is when they are looking at my UNLOADED revolver and they do the ol Lucca Brassi wrist flip to close the cylinder because they think it's cool, another Hollywood method of handling firearms. It's hard to imagine that damaging a revolver, I hope they are not that fragile but I still don't like it even though it's a Ruger and we all know you just can't break a Ruger.  :)

21.   Sure an AK will jam if it has a marble size rock in the reciever or if you try to feed 7.62x54 ammo through it or somehow loaded the mag backwards. Now it's a Glock that wont jam.  :)
22.   That's the smart thing to do. If someone breaks into my home uninvited, (home invasion), i'm not going to ask them why they are here, or wait to see what race they are or ask them to see their I.D. to see what age they are, i'm just going to assume this person is trying to kill me. Peroid. I am of the opinion that if bad guy commits a home invasion and the home owner shoots the bad guy center chest with a 12guage 00buck load at 10 feet, it is all, 100% bad guys fault, tough crap for him, he's dead because he threatened the home owners life.
23.   That's because most everyones education about firearms in general comes from Hollywood and TV shows and the media. If i'm talking to someone about firearms who has little knowledge about them and new to them the first thing I tell them is that what you have seen in movies or drama TV shows, or heard on the news, forget it, don't believe it, it's a bunch of over dramatized BS with alot of false information. Now I don't claim to be some big expert on all firearms but I think i've learned a few things in my old age, I used to believe some stupid stuff and there's still some hangups I have like I still have to have a .45 instead of a 9mm even though if I thought about it logically I would carry a 9mm. Anyway most of us here at TGO tend to read and study about firearms more than most gun owners, that's why we are members of a gun forum where we discuss alot about firearms. I have friends that I grew up with going hunting and target shooting that still believe some silly stuff, I want to correct them sometimes but being my friends I don't want to sound like a B-hole.
24.   I'm sure that's the official explanation from the White House, everybody there has some physical/mental abnormality that prevents them from saying the words, Islamic Terrorism. I guess they need more gun free zones and more strict gun laws in France although i'm not sure what else they can legislate, being Europe i'm pretty sure that gun ownership by citizens is pretty much banned anyway unless it's a single shot shotgun, you filled out a stack of registration papers, waited 2 years, store it in a locked locker at a gun club, bribed an official etc.etc. Maybe they can make the word gun illegal.  Tragedy for the families there.
25. I just looked on a can of Special Kitty cat food I gave to some outdoor cats I have earlier, the label says, "distributed by Wal Mart Bentonville Arkansas." Yea, they distributed it after they loaded the shipping container off a cargo ship from China on a truck to their warehouse. I want to see on the label where the hell it's actually made. That's decietful to put packaged or distrubited by.
