On our way to Jackson Hole, some highway through the Teton National Park. Went through Jackson Hole, it was October so there wasn't any snow on the slopes.

The weather hasn't bothered my tomato plant. Freaking Miracle Grow potting mix, I hope it doesn't get much bigger till spring.

Definatly not professional photography, I wish I had a better camera back then.

Hopefully in a year and a half we will have an administration who will actually combat ISIS instead of making excuses for them and not afraid to call them what they really are. Maybe then SNL can make a part 2 of the skit where daddys little girl is in Northern Iraq joking with her ISIS friends, turns around and is looking right in the muzzel of a 20mm chain gun on the bottom of an Apache helicopter, makes a funny remark right before she is suddenly dismantled.

I tried to like your post but it said an error occured, that happens with some members here, don't know why. That would be a funny skit, plus the Obama administration would have a ballistic hissy fit over it.

I got me an ax and hammer, it's called an AK-47.

You would think Marlin, Winchester, and some others would make or start making more if there's a market for them. I know a 158 grain bullet from a .357 revolver 4" barrel can produce about 1300 to 1400 fps out the muzzel, wonder what the velocity of the same bullet comming out an 18" or 20" barrell and what the perfect barrell length is. I would load the heavier bullets in a lever carbine, at short range it should be a pretty effective gun. Then you could have a nice GP-100 on your side loaded with the same ammo. :) That's it, Ruger needs to make a lever gun, you know it would be a robust gun of excellant quality.

It's instinctive to grab at something that's dropped, try to catch it, you almost have to train yourself NOT to grab at it. There was a LEO years ago, while removing his Glock from a locker at a jail, dropped it and grabbed at it and shot himself in the inner thigh which destroyed the femoral artery. He came close to bleeding out, took several pints of blood but lost his entire leg because of it. I'm sure some remember that incident from the news. Rule #1, DO NOT drop your gun. Rule #2, DO NOT catch a dropped gun. That includes a safety, no safety, revolver, any gun.

There are no shortage of things to see, the biggest natural lake at that high of an altitude, a huge canyon and 300+ ft. waterfall, steam vents all over the place and bubbling out the lake, multicolored ponds of acid water, mountains and steaming hills, buffelo, elk, pronghorn, bears, wolves, moose and of course geysers. Out of all the places I wanted to visit in the world Yellowstone was the top of my list, next would be the Grand Canyon someday. Screw a bunch of big city buildings, give me mountains and ocean any day.

One of my favorite places. You shouldn't be able to see those benches and walkway this time of the year, of course the ground is too hot to hold any snow. While the North East is having too much snow, the North West is lacking much needed snow. http://www.nps.gov/features/yell/webcam/oldFaithfulStreaming.html

I can overlook that in some actors untill they become "in your face" leftist political activists and start insulting conservatives and gun owners like soo many have done. I don't remember Nimoy ever going that far. I enjoyed Star Trek shows and movies even though they could be hoaky sometimes but that's most all TV shows and movies.

I'm hoping Rossi's are better quality than they were back when they were imported by Interarms, that's the last time I bought a Rossi. They wern't in the cheapo class but they definatly wern't in the S&W class either as far as their revolvers go. They did however have one of the best trigger actions I have ever experienced on a D.A. revolver, better than a S&W 66 I once owned and much better than my Ruger SP101. I have heard some decent reviews on some of their newer firearms.

I'm still thinking about when I bought my Marlin 336,30-30 back in the day for $230. I knew prices are more on lever guns but didn't imagine that much. Also didn't realize the .38/.357 calibers were that sought after to make them that expensive. What about the .44special/.44magnum lever gun?
-
There's a whole list of guns I would like to have but I have had a hankering for a lever gun in .38/.357. I believe .38 is still inexpensive for target, plinking and small varments, I bet you get the maximum out of .357's out of it, I have heard that taking a deer at a close range is not out of the question with a .357 lever gun. Also if you have a good .357 revolver you have ammo for both. Just don't know how much the gun itself would cost. Edit: DAAANG, I just looked on Gun Broker and Marlins and Winchesters in .38/.357 are pricey, I thought they might be no more than $400ish but most are asking $900 to $1500 for them. May have to wait for a while on one of those.

Broke my right fibula in 09 just walking down a slight hill after rain. My foot slipped and my ankle turned and the pressure snaped the fibule. Sounded like snapping a pencil. Didn't hurt real bad right away but I had a vertigo feeling and felt naseated for a minute or two. After that passed I started feeling some pain.
-
Mine was a M45 Firestar, reliable and decently accurate. Wish I still had that back.
-
I feel for you man, go ahead and take your pain med, don't let it get too sore before you do because it's harder to knock out. I have a plate and screws in my right fibula, if they don't do that sugery then when the ligiments tighten back it will pull the bones out of alignment and you would have future problems. I've also had bone fragments removed from my left ankle from rolling it over, I promise I know how you feel. Go to physical therapy also, don't skip that. They will make recovery alot faster.

States Recognizing TN Permits (Reciprocity) With Links
K191145 replied to JohnC's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I haven't lost anything in any of these states including Illinois so there's no reason for me to go to any. The only reason I went to Illinois back in 09 was to land at Midway and change planes to Salt Lake City. I carried no firearm to Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana for that week but just knowing I could have if I wanted to made me feel like I was still in America. -
About two weeks ago I sold 3- 4' flouresent shop lights, used in working order with bulbs to this guy in pegram I never met before. I was asking $15 each and he agreed on the phone but before he came over I researched some more on them and since they were not the decorative lights I went down on the price, $30 for all 3. I found you can get them new for around $18 each. I guess I assume everyone is a decent person unless I learn something about them later and I just can't profiet off someone. It would do me no good to buy .22 in bulk for re-sale because I would probably re-sale it for retail and wind up loosing money for time spent and gas. I vow to never buy .22 from a re-saler at a ridiculous price, I wish others would stop buying from them but that's a pipe dream.

I know back in 1980 a drill instructor wouldn't have been so nice, he would have been called, yelled at several variations of stupid dumb a$$, not told to step back to the staging area but simply told to get the f### off my range with a few more added stupid dumb a$$es. Then he would have messed with him in the staging area. If this was real, the Army sure has changed since I was in.

Hope the pipes didn't split. I have a very low crawl space and at may age and belly I can go low crawling on my belly anymore so I have an access to the crawl right beside my dryer vent. I disconnected the 4" pipe from the vent and directed it under the crawl, (temporarly). I've been waking up several times at night the last couple of nights and turning on my dryer with nothing in it to heat my crawl space. Seems to work good and my outdoor cats loved the idea. I have a small opening they can go into to get out of the weather, and they gladly use it.

A better option would be to completly wipe out any record of a felony conviction of someone who committed a non-violent felony after some years go by and have lived a law abiding life after that. All rights restored. I hate to see a person who maybe had a little too much pot on them 20 years ago, or lied to the IRS 30 years ago ect. be punished for life. Never able to vote, having a permenant record potential employers can see, never possess a firearm ect. After a certain time limit, wipe out all records of a minor "non-violent" conviction, felony and misdomenor. Everybody makes mistakes in their young lives, they shouldn't be punished by society until they die.

I hope it's just a simple fix, not like having to rebuild the transmission. -
CC Pharmacist Prescribes 3 Bullets for a Badman

Another example of, do bad by the gun, you might die by the gun. And it's 100% bad guys fault he's dead.
