My first Mosin-Nagant Model 1944
K191145 replied to Richard995's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Shooting a 91/30 from the 100 yard bench is actually shooting from 99 yards. :) -
Many years ago my dad had a friend who knew the right places to look, look up his side of the family, where it get to who married who back to the 1700's and earlier get kinda confusing. I still have the folder of info, my great great grandfather was a Lieutenant in the 9th Tennessee calvery CSA. That was interesting to learn. On my moms side of the family much of their time was in Kansas during the civil war, most likely Jayhawkers on the Union side.

It took a lot not to whip someone's ass today

I've used the word moron many times before, mostly out of anger against someone who was ignorant about something or other but I think the true definition of moron was that guy who obviously has a mental problem, walking away was the best thing to do but I can't say if I could have done that myself, at least without telling him what he could do with himself. This moron who was for what ever reason trying to provoke a total stranger needs to be watched and escorted by family members, someday he will say something like that to someone who wont walk away and really give him an ass wipping. -
No it didn't have a vent rib but they are pretty much the same as the NEF shotguns.

Well I do have a history of athletes feet, don't know if a fungus could be related. Doxycycline is an anti-biotic i've never had before, I have had Duracef when I had a deep infection in my hip after surgery, IV and pills in 86, I thought that was the type they use for skin infections also. I think they are called Ceflasporin anti-biotics.

Several weeks? Yikes. Well i'm going to wait till Tuesday, if there's no improvment then i'll call my doctor and demand a dermatologist.

I had a friend I used to work with, he always got his limit of deer every year with the same ol .243 bolt action he had as a young kid. It's a small caliber but the ballistics make up for that. I believe I read they push over 3000 fps or more on most loads, can't remember the bullet weights.

AND,,, it's got to be an H&R Topper. :) My very first gun, then at 15 I had to get a 12guage so my friends would laugh at my wennie gun, you know how hillbilly teenagers are.

I did some online research and it said that about steroids, the lidocain spray shouldn't hurt I hope, just to relieve itching. I'll go to my regular doctor if it doesn't improve by Wednesday, hopefully she will send me to the dermatologist. I wouldn't go to the doctor if this rash wasn't over 60% of my body.

Bingo. I have known a few people who seem to have some need to tell other people what to do all the time for the sake of their own ego or something. Unless I saw someone doing something potentially dangerous it's not my place to say anything to them unless they ask my advice about something.

Sorry to hear that, being at home with family instead of a hospital I really believe is much better.

That's what kind of infection it is but I don't do hot tubs, i,m sure it was sweating and wearing wet pants for several hours while clearing ice off the roof, had an ice dam and the porch doesn't have much of a slope so it was leaking pretty bad.

I was taking Claritan at first but it didn't do much, the doc said since it wasn't an allergy an anti-histimine wont help to get rid of it. I wanted a cortisone shot but she wouldn't give me one and the cortizone cream works a little but not long. Last night I tried some Solarcain spray, it has lidocain in it and it worked the best so far for the itching.

Well i'm hopeing i'm doing the right thing, at least it's no allergy to anything. Last week I worked for a few hours cleaning ice off a porch roof that started leaking, I got pretty wet and sweaty and didn't dry off for a while. That's probably what set it off.

That's an infection of the hair follicles and causes a big rash like an allergy. Anyone ever had that? I've got a rash from my calves over my knees up on my thighs, lower to middle back, lower belly, and from my lower arms past my elbows up on my upper arms. It's really a pain in the everywhere, well not really a pain but itchy as hell. I had it for a week, it started slowly and got worse over the days. I finally went to the doc and she perscribed Doxycycline and i've been showering with anti-bacterial soap twice a day. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this and have any suggestions for the d#mn itching. Cortizone ointment or Benadryl ointment doesn't do much or last long and it a huge area. Thanks. Jon.

I dialed a couple of people today and forgot to dial 615 and my calls went right through. -
It should be a simple law, they have the right to post a sign if they want to, if they see you wearing a gun you're violating "THEIR" private property rules but not the state law. Then they have the right to tell you to leave their property, if you refuse "THEN" you're violating the tresspassing law. I believe in property rights, if a private business tells you to leave their property for whatever reason you must leave or be charged with tresspassing. If someone feels they have been discriminated against they have the right to file civil action. Personally I want to know who doesn't respect the 2nd. Amendment so I can avoid doing business with them so let them have their little signs showing they don't believe in the Bill Of Rights.

The rain has stopped for now in Kingston Springs and according to the radar the ice/sleet line isn't too wide. If it's going to do something then I hope it just snows, last time I had an ice dam on my back porch roof that doesn't have much of a slope, leaked in many places, snow wont do that.

I thought it was funny. I really don't think the producers of the Dukes Of Hazzard had any kind of racist message or intent when they made the show back then, back then a rebel flag wasn't that much of a big deal as it is nowadays, southern bands like Lynard Skynard and Charlie Daniels Band used to put the flag on their album covers, they were all over the place at NASCAR races. Back in the 70's and 80's many people just viewed the flag as a southern thing, I don't think their intent was to promote racism, (for some people). I am aware it is commonly flown by idiot rasist aryan groups and the KKK but so is the Stars and Stripes. I can see how some black Americans, especially those of age where they grew up in a racist atmosphere in the south would be offended by the flag.

Is there any bottles of black powder and lead ball molds to be found anymore?

Yea I saw that, I wouldn't buy one.

So what did I say in the fall? I said Fred, we have to fly south, ducks fly south before the winter. What did you say? You said NAAAA, we will be alright. You lazy bum.
