Sure they will, they are called negotiaters and they like to talk. :) Besides, they ain't comming for little ol me anyway, there's only one scenerio I can think of where I would have to bug out off my property anyway and that's a train wreck with a chemical spill 1/2 a mile away. If it's not that then i'm holding up at my house no matter how damaged it is.

I've been searching for the actual code to make a copy so I can quote it to anyone during a crisis demanding me surrender my weapons. How I will inform them that they are violating state law during the "standoff" I will have to figure out. :)

Yes we do, passed some time after Katrina. I can't remember what it is called though.

So why aren't they blaming the plane?
K191145 replied to Trekbike's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I could have sympathy for someone who is going through so much pain, either physical or mental that they can no longer tolerate existing any more, I can't really judge them because I have no idea what's going on in their mind at the time. But, to take yourself out and also take out 150 innocent people is just murder plain and simple. I will hold judgment against murderers, I have no sympathy for the co-pilot whatsoever, he is a scumbag mass murderer. It's a rare event that this happens but some policy changes would be in order I think, I am more worried about some pilot who desides to carry out some personal islamic jihad than one who wants to end it all. -

I believe the point of the thread was missed by some. I clearly see that the OP's agument wasn't to make light of the murders of 150 people, he's just pointing out that if the co-pilot had used an AR to murder those people liberals would be calling for gun control laws and calling for law suits against the maker of the AR, blame the gun and the manufacturer instead of the murderer. That's exactly thier mentality and it is a valid point. What is funny is that someone would complain about the criticising of liberals on an internet forum where most all of it's members are conservative thinkers, those who still value personal choice and value and believe in the Constitution. If I joined a forum ran by MSNBC I believe I would expect members there to often complain about conservatives, especially on their political forums and I would classify the 2nd. Amendment forum here at TGO to be a political forum with threads often criticising liberals. Also, it is an internet forum where people try to type fast and share opinions among friends, it is not a letter, memo or presentation to CEO's at some big company so a few grammer errors or a misspelled word or two isn't a big deal to me, I know what they are saying. I've noticed on forums some people use that as a petty insult to a poster when they are angry about what they posted and a petty insult is all that it is, nothing more. Don't expect to read a political forum or thread and not read something you don't like or agree with. Edit: BTW, Criticising and Criticizing are both correct, like defense and defence. -

Usually when I "get tired" of reading or hearing about something, I stop reading about it or listening about it, Just like if I don't like what's on TV I change the channel. -
So you can have 2 charges against you if you pick up a hooker off the street for a $20 quicky huh? I promise I don't do that sort of thing. :)

Wow, I hope they did more than replace a capacitor for that price. At least a full maintenance on the system and that's still pricey. I've been out of the business for many years but a simple service call with a capacitor change shouldn't cost that. That's about what a motor replacement used to cost, maybe around $250.oo depending on the motor and that always included a new capacitor for it.
-
Just take an old beat up screw driver and touch both posts on the capacitor and that will discharge any charge it may have. Some capacitors have a resistor between the posts to discharge it when there's no power to it but shorting it out with a screwdriver will do.

It's unlikely touching a hot wire on a unit would be fatal, it all depends on how well you are grounded. If you have rubber sole shoes or boots and touching nothing else 120volts might give you a decent tingle, i've never tried 240volts, that's hard to do anyway. But,if you grab a hot terminal with your right fingers while resting your left arm on the grounded unit you will bite a chunk of your lip off and blow snot all over the electric compartment. :)
-
That's not all that much of a difference, it could have read that new out of the box. Also meters that read capacitance could be a little off. Most of the time they read slightly high when they are new.
-
Be sure to take the old capacitor with you but I would call them first, you need to match up UF(microfarads), and also VAC(volt amp capacity).

If I have taken off my OWB holster for the day I have a pocket holster for my SP101, it's always with me lounging at home. In my room I keep my G21 close and also my 870.

Try some of this, it's better than holy water. Holy oil for guns.

That goes to show the lengths some will go for a superstition, I knew a woman once that was into all the psychic and supernatual stuff, she showed me photo's she had taken, (with a cheapo camera), that had little reflection circles she swore were orbs of spirits. I just pretty much said, yea, okay. Humored her, if that's what she believes nothing I could say would change her mind.

I remember hearing this a while back.

My first Mosin-Nagant Model 1944

I always thought that you didn't have a good range day unless you had a decent red and purple line on your shoulder. -
Well if any good bills pass, I hope he will do the cowardly thing like Bredesen often did and just not sign it instead of a veto, at least it will go into law automatically I believe in ten days after, if I remember right. If he veto's them I wonder if the state legislature would have the guts to over ride him. Hmmmmm? I doubt it.

He's had only one movie i've seen worth the time, Shindlers List.

There was some saying back then, you had to be a brave man to be a coward in the Russian Army. -

K191145 replied to Richard995's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I don't think there's that much more recoil than a 30-06 if any, it's just the metal butt platt on them that doesn't make it any better. My nefew is a collector of Mosins and we have shot 100's of rounds through his models and my M44 and 91/30. I made this stupid looking slip on pad for mine and one for him for when we shoot alot. The padding is cut plumbing pipe foam insulation wrapped in thin leather sewn onto thick leather. Looks stupid but works well, makes shooting 100+ rounds more pleasant and doesn't permantly alter the gun. -
