  1.   I would say that in Tennessee, shooting a carjacker in the act of forcing their way into your vehicle is justified. That's my plan.
  2.   I have had .38 Special revolvers fail to cycle just because of certain ammo. I have noticed that some .38 rounds are too long for some revolvers and the tip of the bullet snags the edge of the barrell. I guess forcing cone is not the proper term since it's inside the barrell. Anyway, .357's don't have that problem.
  3.   We will have to see what was recovered so far, they were arrested one day after the break in so they may not have had a chance to move them all. These parasites will get more than 6 mounths for sure with all the other charges.
  4.   To heck with all of that, i'm switching to .50GI.
  5. They caught these punks Saturday, one day after the break in, Wednsday they shot and stabbed some dude, these punks are real scumbags and i'm sure they will spend quite some time in jail, both Nashville and Cheatham. Apparently my brother did provide a serial number, I believe the .40 S&W and that's what they identified. One of the punks lived on Sams Creek Rd. not but a few miles from my brother.   http://www.scrippsmedia.com/newschannel5/news/2-Fugitives-Captured-In-Shooting-Stabbing-On-Colt-Drive-304861121.html
  6. I would like to keep a few flyers advertizing U Haul and Hertz, or a moving company and when some hippy is trying to be sanctimonious asking why I carry, i'll just say, because it's the law in Tennessee, I can and I want to so either get over it or move. Then hand them a flyer. There's no need to argue your point no matter how much sense it makes, it is impossible for them to process logic.
  7. "UPDATE"   My brother left me a voicemail and said they caught the parasites who broke into his home and stole his guns, on something else. He didn't give any details, i'll talk to him later tonight. He hopes to recover some of his guns. My hope is that they are already convicted felons facing many charges for breaking into his home and whatever they were busted on. I want to go to their sentencing hearing or trial to look them in the face and smirk, give a little wave bye bye to them when they are led out of the court room to jail.
  8.   Problem is that often a DA will work out some slap on the wrist plee bargian deal, the more charges they have the stiffer the sentence. BTW, my brother left me a voice message, they caught the pieces of crap who broke into his home he said on something else. I don't know any real details but he hopes to recover some of his property. I personally want to go to whatever court or hearing they have to look these parasites in the face.
  9.   I still don't consider a buglary as a non-violent crime, they are creating a situation where if someone was home that they didn't expect, life and limb is in danger. Just like an armed robbery where the criminal's partner was killed or an innocent person, even if they didn't pull the trigger they can still be charged with murder for creating the situation to begine with. I look at home burglaries that way but that's just my opinion.
  10.   If they already are a convicted felon it shouldn't matter, they are in possession of a firearm if it's in their hands or vehicle weather they just stole it or got it from a sale.
  11. First of all i'm not quite sure about the laws except that criminals don't care about them when committing a crime. I am assuming that in Tennessee that there is an additional charge committing a crime/robbery using a firearm which will add to a criminals sentence. We all know that a felon caught with a firearm is a violation in itself and so far I have never heard any opposition from the NRA or any other (real) 2nd Amendment supporter to those laws, it is generally agreed that a convicted felon forfiets some of their Constitutional rights. Now i'm in favor of restoring a (non-violent) felons rights after a time peroid has passed but the crime really should be a victimless crime so to speak. What i'm getting at is i'm not sure that theft of firearms from a burglary is an additional charge different from any other property. For one thing a forceable entrey of a home is a felony, when convicted of breaking and entering the criminal is a felon so he should be considered a felon during the act, so stealing and possession of firearms should carry an additional seperate charge than stealing a laptop or chainsaw etc. I do worry a little about putting firearms in a different catagory than any other property but that has already been done, property and a weapon. I don't consider home burglary a non-violent crime even if the home owner is not there because there's always the chance that someone will be there and the criminal is threatening the life of the home owner by just breaking in, chancing that he will have to fight the home owner if confronted. Anyway, is there or should it be an additional charge for stealing firearms, even if the criminal wasn't a convicted felon before committing the felony?
  12.   Well i'm not going to trap it and relocate it but it's a stupid law, there should be a place to relocate them like a game reserve without paying for some permit. So now if I see it again and it's trying to eat my garden i,ve worked hard on i'll have to break the law by discharging a firearm in the city limits. I'll claim self defense, the groundhog was charging me. Besides the charge for that is alot less than the charge for trapping and releasing it it appears.
  13.   I live about 5 miles from the Cheatham Game Reserve, what about that? I'm pretty sure there's already a few thousand groundhogs there. I have only seen my ground hog just once earlier this year, I put up a 3 ft, chicken wire fence around my cucumber patch which the groundhog loves the cucumbers and vines. Last year tomatoes and cucumbers didn't do well at all around here so I let him eat on them but not this year, I hate to do it but if I see him trying to get at my garden this year with all the work I put into it i'm taking him out since the stupid law says you can't catch and release.
  14.   I'm not that savy about some things dealing with activation, programming and all that stuff. I'm good at installing electronics but I need instructions on making it work. If I would have known I wouldn't have ordered the thing but it was like Comcast was begging me. I got Xfinity emails, snailmail letters every week. My old modem and speed are just fine and the new modem is boxed up and in route to Charlotte NC. via UPS.
  15.   Like I said, the "MANUAL" I was supplied with said nothing about that. It said, "CALL THE NUMBER PROVIDED" to activate. The "MANUAL" that came with the equipment said the "PHONE LIGHT ON THE MODEM WOULD BLINK WHEN POWERED UP, THEN STAY ON" which it did not. So, if you follow what the "MANUAL" says, then it's not the users fault. Peroid.
  16.   Well I had no phone service to call the activation number, the modem should have given me phone service, the manual said the light would stop blinking and stay on, THEN call to activate. There was also no internet to go online. I called the number they provided hooked up to my old modem, they read your account through your phone number so you can't use another phone, they don't let you talk to a person, the recording said I had to have the new modem installed so they can activate it. The phone service should have worked.
  17.   I know a few people who would eat it, you can legally kill a pest animal on your land.
  18.   Thing is I don't have any wireless devices and have no plans for any. They send the new modem anyway saying it will speed up the internet. The wifi service is usless to me, I didn't even know it was also a wireless modem untill I recieved it, all connections to my computer and phone were the same and the wifi service had to be activated differently.
  19.   Well my older modem works just fine, my internet speed is pretty fast also, alot faster than my brothers Uverse. I think Comcast is scared because ATT/Uverse just installed fiber optic cables in our area and thinks people are going to change. I checked out other deals paying seperatly for TV, Internet and phone and so far Comcast bundle has them beat on price. If I wasn't so addicted to my land line, and if there was a service that I could choose only certain channels I watch for a lower price I might change. There's hardly nothing on local channels I ever watch and really just a few cable channels. When I went to comcast cable internet in the 90's I had old AOL dialup in the, never watched any videos then so I am spoiled on the speed now.
  20.   State game reserve. The only other option is to kill it.
  21. So, i'm up early this morning installing this new wifi modem Comcast/Xfinity bugged the crap out of me to order by snail mail and email, even though I don't have any wireless devices. They claimed it would speed up the internet. That would be fine if the modem they sent actually worked. So, I hooked up all connections (correctly) and checked it several times because according to Comcast it's always the customers fault, it's company policy. So, after doing all that and powering it on the phone line blinks and just goes off never to be seen again. The book says wait 20 minutes and I waited 25, no phone. So, I unpluged the power cord, waited 2 minutes and powered up again, phone light on the modem blinks then disappeares into oblivion, no phone. So, I re-installed my old modem and have phone service. New modem, no phone service. Old modem, phone service. So, I am packing up this new modem and sending it back.
  22.   Don't ask don't tell.
