High School kid suspended for defending a blind kid.
K191145 replied to K191145's topic in General Chat
Here's the petition, of course after signing it you will get emails and asked to sign other petitions, I can't sign everything. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/358/010/475/get-cody-pine-back-on-the-football-team-after-defending-a-blind-classmate-against-a-bully/ -
High School kid suspended for defending a blind kid.

The punk should be charged, it was an assault. If I were the blind kids parent I would file charges against the punk. If the DA refused to I would hound him publically every day and draw media attention to it. The punk, and i'm not going to call him a kid, needs to be in some juvy system for a while. Let him try to beat on some of those kids there. Also I remember Tennessee passed a law making it a defense for a school age student to defend themselves if being attacked, I bet that would apply to defending a third party. -

Just pure meaness. The little punk should be branded a coward for doing that also, it's obvious he can't stand toe to toe against someone his own size so he has to beat a blind kid. The little punk should be the one severely punished even after having his clocked cleaned and not just suspension. It takes a special kind of evil brat to do that, he deserves a stay in a strict juvenile school for that. -

He would have if 60K people hadn't signed a petition in Cody's favor and the school board's phone and contact email probably was overloaded with support for Cody. There is a petition, I signed it but since he isn't getting suspended the petition is probably closed by now. -
http://www.rossiusa.com/product-list.cfm?category=1 I've had a few Rossi's in the past, they were shootable and inexpensive but not the durability of a S&W and especially Ruger. Several models to choose from just don't plan to shoot tens of thousands of rounds through them. Don't know many people who do that anyway.

All my AK mags are commie surplus and work great. E. German, Chinese and Russian 30 rounders bought at the gun show years ago. What's the deal with the fancy polymer AK mags anyway? They are not THAT much lighter than the stamped steel. Can the old surplus still be found at a decent price?

Cody Pines should get an award IMO. We need more kids like him. Warning: Violence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO9A-yn0Ob4

Sure i'll try them again, i'm sure Winchester got some complaints about those in the past, I would think/hope a company with a reputation like Winchester would fix a problem. I have other Winchester ammo, shot a lot of White Box .45, they all shoot but a little dirtier than some others, also I just bought some Winchester .22lR and have some Super X field loads #6 shot that shoot fine. You could probably find a problem with any company producing a lemon once in a while, the best business policy is to just fix it. I wont get to shoot this weekend though like i wanted to, my sister is coming up from Birmingham today for the weekend and she stays at my place when she comes but if you're ever driving by the K.S. exit or going to White Bluff for something someday PM me. -

I would be willing to try some again if I could find one cheap box for $4 or $5, not a case until i was satisfied with it. I believe my nephew still has about half that bad case just sitting around somewhere. he wont shoot any more of those. He could cut them open and re-use the shot if he reloaded shotgun shells, or make a nice shot bag. :) Remove the powder and use the primers for noise poppers to scare away stray dogs or other critters. I have popped primers in the back yard to do the same, sounds like a small firecracker but they dirty up the barrel. -

Well I got the box of Federal 7-1/2 target at Dicks for $5.48 but they were on sale. BTW, that sign at Dicks about firearms being checked by customer service doesn't apply to sidearms carried by HCP holders does it? I just "ASSUMED" it meant when bringing a gun back for warranty or taking a newly bought gun out of the store, something like that so I didn't bother to read all of the sign. If it's not a gun buster sign I don't see it pertaining to HCP holders and will ignore it. If I did see a gun buster sign I would never have went in and bought anything but I ain't checking my shootin arn in with the Marshall. -

Now I have to say my experience with Winchester super Target was a couple of years ago but that batch we had then was bad, every single shell locked up in the chamber after firing them. We could barely extract them from both 870s and I couldn't break open my SxS unless I took a cleaning rod and tapped both spent shells. Absolutely no problems with anything else that day. They may have added strength to the base metal now but that batch we had then was horrible. -

I might shoot a couple just to do it. If you shoot Mosins and surplus you have probably have shot Korean war era ammo.I wouldn't be afraid to shoot them at all, probably better ammo than some of the new stuff. I'm sure it's superior than new Winchester Super Target. -

Was going through my shotgun ammo box to organize and put the new stuff in and came across these. A while back I bought a milk crate of household cleaners, 3 full cans of spray paint and these were in the crate all fo $2. Aren't yard sales great sometimes? Anyway, they advertize proudly "all new plastic" shells with a .3 cent Tennessee tax stamp on the box so you know they have to be old. Only 2 shells were missing and there was an oddball Remington Victor #9 shot shell in there. I have no doubt they are shootable but, I haven't because while they might not be worth much they are still collectables. Would you shoot any? Well I bought them just to shoot stuff, I haven't broken in that Stoeger yet, it's still hasn't loosened up hardly. These Federals I bought today are just marked Federal Target Load, the box is red white and blue with stars, and there are red shells, white shells and blue shells, #8 shot. Yep, looking at the shells they say Top Gun on them. -

No they were the Winchester Super Target shells we had trouble with. Just noticed Shotgun Shooters post about Federal and darned if I didn't buy a box (25) today for $5.50. Also bought a box of Rio Game loads, #7.5 shot for $5.50. Bought them at Dicks on Charlotte Pk. Wished I had bought all Rio now. I'll know this weekend how the Federal works I guess, they do have the bi metal base but they were taped up and I didn't open them. I was just avoiding the Winchester stuff. -

My nephew and I had issues with some he bought at the Cheatham range in both our 870's and my Stoeger Uplander SxS. Thanks, I just want something to fun shoot, I have some Rem and Win #6 shot field loads but I would like to keep a supply of that around. I didn't know if Winchester still made that with the bi-metal base, it's obvious that the base swells when fired. That day we shot a variety of stuff, some from the early 80's I had from low brass bird loads to high brass black Browning loads and a bunch of others. Everything cycled fine except the Winchester bulk and every time we fired one of those we had difficulty extracting and ejecting them. I would hope that they would quit making the stuff and go back to brass, i'm sure they have had some complaints. My nephew still has some left over but he will never shoot them just because of the hassle. -
Even though The Lone Ranger was cartoonish I still liked it, mainly because of Johnny Depp as Tonto who always had that dead Raven on his head. He made the movie watchable for me at least.

I watched that older Depp movie Blow on TV a week or so ago, I like Johnny Depp, this will be one of the few new movies out that I would want to see.

Hadn't bought any 12 in some time but I would like to shoot up some ammo, cheap ammo. Here's a "useda", I useda could buy a 25 count box of target loads for about $3. checking the Wallyworld site their cheapest stuff is almost double that now and it's the Winchester Super Target with the bi-metal case that likes to swell and stick. I will not waste my money on that anymore. Doesn't Remington make a cheap target load in 12 gauge? Something with a brass base, I guess i'll pay the couple of extra $$ for it but i'm sure no one wants high dollar premium ammo just to fun shoot. I also don't want to have to take a cleaning rod to tap the shell just to get it to extract no matter if the shells were $1 per box.

This will make Bloomberg have a stroke for sure!

UH? Why were they manually cycling semi auto's? For dramatic effect I guess, anyway there's some good unspent ammo on the ground, hoped they picked them up. -
New people, new ideas and products, classic products reborn but just buying the Colt name and reviving it into a trusted company could be a good business deal for a smart businessman willing to put quality over a few extra dollars.

Got email for: Bulgarian Makarov Pistols Unissued Condition (Pre-Order)
K191145 replied to MountainDewed's topic in Handguns
I bought a Bakail Makarov from my sister for $5, the cost of the Cheatham Range permit at the time, best firearm deal I ever made. They are No-Frills but mine was very reliable, shot all that cheapo Russian stuff without a single malfunction and decently accurate with that fixed barrell. A couple of months ago I "GAVE" it away to my brother after all his guns were stolen after a break in so he would have something for protection. Gotta take care of family. -
Maybe we can convince Ronnie Barrett into buying Colt and moving them to Tennessee. There may be a huge manufacturing building in Chattanooga available soon.
