Try banning Korans or restrict women from wearing veils at an apartment complex and see how fast the ACLU slaps a lawsuit on them.

Restricting a Constitutional right? Could they also restrict Time or Newsweek magizine, the Bible? Restrict conservative talk radio programs from being aired etc? I know many people don't see gun rights as the same as speech, religion, or privacy like we do but according to the Bill of Rights, it is illegal to restrict possession of firearms. If a tenant has the time or money it would be worth a law suit. Apartments are dwellings for people to live in, I just don't see how they can legally restrict a Constitutional right.

I've always thought that was a constitutional infringment, being denied a firearm on hearsay only. My sister was beaten and hospitalized by her ex 20+ years ago when she had a protection order on him so what do those do anyway to a psycho who is determined and doesn't care about the consequences? He could have easily obtained a firearm and shot her weather he had the PO or not. Also I have known, thank God never been involved with, some vindictive women who would file a protection order just simply for revenge knowing their husband/boyfriend would be denied his rights. As a matter of fact I know of a case where that happened to a friends son. There was no proof, witness, or evidence of abuse, just her word against his and he was told he couldn't posess firearms. He may have hit her or not but I do know there was no evidense of it.

Yea, I thought of a .44 magnum lite. I keep my Glock loaded with Hornaday Tap 230gr. +p, they are supposed to give 900 to 1000 fps. I guess I'm still in the mindset back in the early 90's when they compared everything with the Fuller index of stopping power. Back then the .45 and .357 were the top dogs. I don't think they considered the .44 mag as a defense round.

I believe they call that being chicken feces. I would rather him not sign it than vetoing it since it's his last term.

Sure, go ahead. I hadn't paid attention to my sig line lately, wonder what HS would think about that? Question: I heard, or possibly read here that some time ago at one of the Goodman shows at the Fairgrounds that there were people walking around the parking lot writing down plate numbers. Is that true?

Editorial in Tennessean - Restaurant Carry

Just a bunch of leftest bigots. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if that leftest propaganda rag folded. -
Marlin Man myself. Bought mine in 77. To me it has the best feel of any long gun I've had.

I've always wanted a big bore carry revolver with up to a 3" barrel and a load that will push a 200+ grain HP at around 900 to 1000 fps. Is there a .44 spec +p load like that? Right now that's just one on my wish list, can't afford anything right now.

does your carry permit have to be on you at all times

I made a photo copy of my DL and HCP and hid it in my truck in case I ever lost my wallet. I'm sure that's not offically legal but maybe a LEO would cut me some slack. Also I know the reciept of a renewal on your HCP can be used while waiting for your card. Probably better to get a duplicate. -
Sent you a reply. I figured if it would handle .454 Cassull then it will handle any charge you load it with for .45 Colt. I used to have a Raging Bull, mostly for a novility fun gun but it was expensive to shoot. I took it deer hunting a few times, never got a deer with it besides being a bright stainless revolver it was like taking a mirror hunting with you.

I have a coffee can full of .454 brass I found yesterday, I don't reload but I hate to waste it. Wondering if anyone in the Kingston Springs/ Dickson, Bellvue area wants it. Of course I don't want anything for it. I wondered if someone who loads .45 Colt could cut them down a mm. I assume they could be loaded to +p. I also have about 100 .45ACP brass, I know it's not a lot, maybe not worth the trouble but like I said I hate to waste it.

My understanding is that he doesn't have to sign it or veto at all and it will automatically become law after a period of time. That's his way of playing both sides of the fence.

Restaurant Carry HB0962 To Be Voted On Today 04/06/09
K191145 replied to waynesan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This is an old artical I found while searching age restrictions in bars in Tennessee. I like what my state rep had to say, Phillip Johnson. I have written him before and recieved a personal, not generic response. I'll have to write him again and thank him. I also like some of the readers comments at the bottom. That's right, "Caveman" is a racist offensive term. The proper term these days is "Subterrarean American". -
I'm so proud. (All choked up. sniff)

I argued with some republican friends years ago about my concern with the patriot act and the development of the homeland security dept. Even though I voted republican the last 20 years I saw the danger in the creation of a new government agency because they tend to have an agenda of their own that never considers individual rights and the constitution. Well, this is just going to make me more vocal as it will with many others. I will not remove my NRA sticker from my window and may add some "anti-government" sticker to my bumper. If they wish to label us as right wing radicals for our traditional patriotic American attitudes then lets just give them about 80 million right wing radicals to investicate or watch. Lets see how they handle that.

Well, just keep up the letters to your Congressman/woman and Senator reminding them not to endorse any irrational emotionally charged legislation against our 2nd Amendment rights, I guess it's my turn to fire a letter or two off again. Remind them in a polite way that we are the ones who hire and fire them every election, some you do not have to warn but encourage them to speak out and be a voice for all the decent law abiding gun owners. As far as arguing with the public, there are some it's worth debating with, maybe you can calm them down some but there are others, and we all know how they are, that debating with them is pointless. There are some who I just don't acknowledge their existance anymore, like trying to argue with a yapping Chihuahuau, just say shoo, git, go away.

From the article: It's the usual anti-gun rights perpetraters manufacturing this lie, we all know their anti-gun agenda in the past will show itself again. Look for gun control legislation to come before congress in the near future. A leopard can't change it's spots.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/04/02/myth-percent-guns-mexico-fraction-number-claimed/ Proof that the Obama administration is manufacturing anti-2nd amendment propaganda. Anyone who believes that the Obama administration and the democrat controlled house and senate isn't building an attack on our 2nd amendment is naive. It's better to wear a tin foil hat than to have your head buried in the sand.
-
It's a term used by the sanctimonious elite most often of the liberal persuasion often followed by redneck or hillbilly etc. Especially directed towards gun owners on some other forums I have read. It's the only bigotery that's acceptable to them but it's bigotery never the less no different than racism.
-
The administration is simply manufacturing excuses to attack the 2nd Amendment in the future with gun control legislation. No common sense solutions are required like securing the border. The best way for them to futher their real agenda is to use the media to play on the emotions of the naive.

Me too. Though I am a little more aware where my shirt tails are when I holster it. I also made up a new rule when I bought it, NEVER catch a dropped Glock. Also, never drop your Glock.
