I had to work at it some, it's hard to get the screw mount to stay in the right place when sliding the grip on. I finally had to take a small diameter screw driver, insert it through the grip into the screw mount to keep it lined up. I still had a gap but I got the screw started and tightening it took up the gap.

Well I still keep mine loaded with 00 buck, but targets on plywood I've shot before with bird shot loads at 10 or 12 feet still leave a pretty good size hole in the center with some shot spread out. I'll still keep buck shot loaded because I know they hold a better pattern at longer distances and keep their velocity.

I'm goint to hunt for some low recoil buck loads soon, I remember seeing them advertized a while back but your right, the distance between the back of the living room and the front door is not much, a skeet load would be effective at that range.

No, it's going to be an asteroid that destroys the earth that day and the government is keeping it a secret. The UN is already preparing a resolution to comdemn the asteroid.

Flying a 747 low over downtown NYC without telling anyone you're going to do it? That's definatly the definition of stupid, and a little cruel also.

I checked out some shotgun sights online, some going for $180. (jeepers). I don't want anything too fancy, it's not a sniper weapon. Maybe I'll see if I can just find a bigger bead, I already wear coke bottle glasses and my eyes aren't getting any better.

Thanks for the link Mike, the illustrations are far superior to those in that cheap manual. I'll e-mail it to him.

Bought a Houge grip for my SP 101 yesterday for $26 hoping it will help tame some .357 loads I shoot through it. It feels good but hadn't shot it yet with the new grip. Anyone else have an SP 101 short barrel in .357 mag. with a Hogue grip? How do you like it compared with the original factory grip?

To each is own I recon but personally I don't want to advertize that I'm carrying. I do like the open carry option in case I'm made and can't get into legal trouble. I do carry a copy of TCA 39-17-1359 in my wallet in case I get hassled at some business.

I have to turn my nefew on to this forum, I've taken him shooting alot in the past and he's more interested in shooting these days. He's also a WW2 buff since my dad, his granddad was a WW2 vet so yesterday he bought a Garand at the show along with 8 loaded clips. I also made him buy a manual for it. I know nothing about Garands but I can't wait to shoot his.

Thanks. I was happy how the forearm turned out, I sanded the varnish off and sprayed it with black matt enamal, also shortened it a little on both ends. I was woried about painting it but I have some spray acrylic sealer that works great. I guess there's no tactical benifit to painting the forearm, just like the way it looks and it's fun to dress up your guns. Now it needs some sights of some sort, That will be a later project.

With a little force it was no problem, I guess I was afraid I would damage the groves in the floor plate but it's some pretty tough plastic. A phillips head screwdriver works well also. I should flatten the tip on a cheap one so not to make any gouges.

Well he didn't get his new add on's at the show but bought a Garand instead. He may buy them later but the Garand took all his cash. I however bought an adjustable stock and already had an 18" barrel and mag extention. I didn't get the forearm but modified the original today and put it all back together.

I have a Stoeger Uplander, wish I had the coach but I like Stoegers. Inexpensive for a SxS and good quality. Gun Test Magizine editors like Stoegers also.

Very nice 1911.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have a punch that's just the right size and I'll, uhhh my friend will do that now. Since it had sticky Coke all in it I figured it wouldn't hurt it to rinse it out earlier with hot water and dry it with a hair dryer but my friend will take it apart and clean it right.

Can't get photobucket to work for me, have to use tinypic. Sorry for the poor quality pics.

My nefew and I went to the RK show at the Expo in Smyrna today, he was supposed to buy accessories for his 870, I was going to buy some ammo. Instead he decided to buy a $750. Garand,(I don't think his girlfriend was too happy) and I bought goodies for my 870, an adjustable stock, and a Houge grip for my SP101. Already installed them. I'll either get a new forearm later or modify the wooden one.

My sister has one, I'm going to try to buy it off her. How much is a fair price for the Russian Makarov?

Please allow me to ask a completly hypothetical question. Say if some dummy had his extra Glock 21 SF magizine in the console of his red Nissan truck, and spilled half a Coke he got from Sonic on it, just how does he get the floor plate off the bottom of the mag to clean it? Assuming he's tried before by pushing the button in and not being able to slide the floor plate off afraid he would damage it. I just wonder if there's any special trick this hypothetical person could do to get it off.

Unintended Consequences Congress Never Saw Coming

Yep, they either play the game or have their political career sabotaged by the rest of the Hyena's. -
I had thought about that also, I think I did discuss with him a while back about buying one already set up for tactical. Now if he were a bird hunter it would make sense to have the long barrel set up to change out but I doubt he's interested in hunting. Now that he already bought it I'll help him set it up. I have a personal motivation too, he said when he buys an adjustable stock kit with forearm he will give me his old synthetic stock for nothing.

My nefew just bought a Remington 870 Express with a 28" barrell and synthetic stock, of course he wants to dress it up with an 18" barrell, magizine extention, and adjustable stock so we are going to the show this weekend at the Expo Center. Any ideas on how much those extra's should cost? My replacement barrell 10+ years ago cost about $80, I found it at Gun City, now on the Cabela's site I see they are pricing them at $119. Stocks in the Sportsman Guide catalog range from $109 and up. Is that about average? I remember removing the dimples on the mag tube on mine by a little sanding with a Dremal and flattening with pliars, it worked out fine without sanding a hole in the thin tube but anyone got any better ideas?

I think a few may actually start their first term with a sincere motivation to speak for their constituents and work for the peoples interest but it's a rare politician who can retain their principals after a year or two.
