Phil Bredesen to (possibly) sit on carry bill.
K191145 replied to Good_Steward's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
They screamed when the shall issue law was first passed saying wild west shootouts would occure and they scream every time a new law is passed concerning HCP's and firearms. Thing is, when this becomes law and after some time they will forget about it. The media's attempt to cause reactionary panic only works for a short time. I don't know about anyone else but I'll be glad not to see Ronal Serpas's ugly mug on TV sticking his nose into state legislation, he's getting as annoying as Nafieh. -

I think you are right, that code was changed in 2001 but I do remember something concerning firearms he refused to sign or veto. He also had missgivings at first about signing the law that prevents law enforcement from seizing firearms from citizens during an emergency, I remember that clearly but he saw what a political hot button that would have been for him. Anyway, we will be done with him in 2010. -
What is Tenn. law on this scenario?
K191145 replied to andersmg's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well it's just a hypothetical situation anyway, so far I've been able to avoid esculating a situation where I would have to draw or show my weapon. I have also discovered that since I got my permit and started carrying, I avoid getting into bird flipping contests with anyone on the road simply because I don't want to esculate a silly situation into something more serious. -

I remember when I took my CCW class many moons ago, the instructor, an ex-cop advised us that if we were in a shooting situation to have a medical situation when the cops arrive such as hyperventilating and chest pains as if you were having an anxiety attack. They don't know if your having a heart attack so they have to give you medical attention and if the ER gives you drugs such as a seditive any statement you make can't be used in court. That's what he advised. -
I really like my Stoeger 12 guage sxs Uplander. I don't know what anyone thinks of Gun Tests Magizine, they buy and rate guns and have no advertisment so they claim they are not biased on any Maker. They have always given Stoegers a good grade, quality for the price is their main factor.

I often carry a small can of pepper spray, I wonder, if you use the spray and still have to draw your handgun, a jury or DA might believe that you tried non-leathal force first and may be more sympathetic towards you. -

He did this before on another HCP law in the past, I believe it was the one allowing permit holders to carry in stores that sold alcohol. He will probably do the same with this so it will become law anyway. Bredesen is a chicken:poop: -
Ain't it purdy?? $65 at the Goodman show around 12 years ago. M-44 Carbine made in Poland, has the smoothest,(no machine marks) finish on a Mosin I have ever seen. I cleaned and revarnished the stock and touched up the bluing on the magizine and bayonet. With good ammo I can/could put 5 rounds in a 5" circle at 100 yards with sights only, the kill zone for a deer. I'm sure the rifle is more accurate than I am. Recoil doesn't bother me at all because mainly it's a heavy old rifle. It is without a doubt the best value for a gun purchase I have ever made. Now I have the urge to take it to the range this week and shoot it again.

I'll do that today. -
Found this video. Not bad at all. Sorry if the video doesn't play, it shows an error to me but type in Mosin Nagant accuracy search on YouTube.

Sen. Alexander votes against guns in national parks

Maybe if enough wrote and encouraged her, I wouldn't mind seeing her as Governor Blackburn of Tennessee either. -
Remember their original action design was in 1891, millions were mass produced by Soviet block countries and some by Remington and Westinghouse to arm the average commie infantryman so they are a no frills duty rifle but they did their job. That being said back when my brother was a big hunter he took his limit of bucks with one shot for three years with a Mosin with no scope made by Remington between WW1 and WW2.

I wrote Lamar an e-mail about voting and speaking against CIFTA and I recieved a generic response e-mail back. It read as though it was a campaing ad with no mention of CIFTA or anything current so it had been written by, probably a campaing worker long ago when he was running for Senate. Also when I wrote him I had to fill out some info and include the title, gun control issues, so I bet a simple computer program reads that and sends the proper response. I seriously doubt he reads any e-mails or even cares. Maybe, the people to e-mail should be the Tennessee Republican Party to express our dissappointment in him and some others. I didn't recieve any response from Corker. Personally I believe it's a waste of typing writing directly to them. -
I see my Rep. Phillip Johnson is strongly on our side, I hope he continues his carreer in state politics or maybe a run for Congress some day. I tried to find a page that reported Senate votes on these bills, I would like to see how Barns(D) votes on these. He's the one who the state democrats decided the peoples votes didn't count and was appointed to run on the ticket un-challenged even though Kurita won the popular vote in the primary. I'll refuse to ever e-mail him about anything, I personally don't recognize him as State Senator. I also assumed that Williams was going to be a Nafieh clone, it seems as though I was wrong. I wish Nafieh would loose the next election but it seems that he's insignificant right now and that pleases me, it must eat at him.

It's been on my wish list as many other guns are, I've wanted a .357 Sig gun with a .40 barrel that can be converted with a simple barrel change. Don't know if a spring change would be necessary also. The only auto's I've had were the common calibers, 9mm Luger and .45 ACP. Had a .380 and .32 and .25 in the past.

The 5% that don't care one way or another apparently aren't afraid of permit holders carrying in restaurants that serve alcohol so I put them on our side.

Memphis chnl 13 News Story - Park Carry
K191145 replied to Ninja9's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Actually screaming is often effective. Many times a witness to the scream can point police to the general direction of the body of the victim after the bad guy rapist/mugger bashed the victims brains in to shut them up. -
I actually grinded mine down and it works well but it took some time. When my nefew is ready to work on his I may go with the drilling method.

I wouldn't doubt that, their story was so one sided last night. Just calling it the "guns in bars bill" shows their agenda.

Some will I'm sure but I really think we will be surprised at how many will not obey this registration scheme. Many people are getting fed up these days with government intrusion and I think the time is ripe for a revolution, starting out as a non-violent revolution against the government. I was surprised at how many people attended the tea parties and just wait till the 4th of July, we will see more protests against the government by ordinary citizens. First I wonder how they will try this. Most likely with new firearms purchases that may pretty much halt new gun sales but what about the 300 million firearms already in circulation, and those that many of us have traded and sold through private transactions. Are they going to send everyone a Federal Firearms Registration form to list all our guns and serial numbers? Actually it would be fun to partake in a public protest where we all could burn our forms in public. I believe within a year or so we will see a demonstration with ordinary citizens, not some leftest hippy activists like in the past, really get serious about telling the government who really is supposed to be in charge. The movement is growing, more and more people are getting more angry by the day. -
I don't know if it's the "official" Colt catolog, there's also a Kimber 1911/.38 Super catolog on this site. Scroll towards the bottom of the page where pistol catologs are. Gun Manuals - Shotgun Gun Manuals - Pistol Gun Manuals - Rifle Gun Manuals - Machine Gun Manuals P.S. Nice avatar.

I think it's a pretty big deal, not only was it stupid and cruel, it shows the hypocrisy of his administration even if the Messiah himself didn't know it was going to take place. Some of the people he chose for his administration knew it. Either they were insensitive to the people of NYC and didn't care or they were idiots, or both. He can no longer lecture CEO's about flying to hearings in their private jets, at least their flights were for a real purpose.

In the meantime, the Democrats have a year and a half to do alot of damage to what's left of the United States.
