Disposal of Confiscated Firearms HB2376 SB2334

Cool, it takes the decision away from some anti-gun judge. I can just see the new channel 5 poll. "Should evil black assault guns taken away from crimminals be placed back on the street where mothers drive to soccer games and children ride their bicycles?" -
notifying businesses back when HCP became legal?
K191145 replied to Mike.357's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I got my permit around 98, I remember all the hype but I never personally asked any business if they allowed HC or not and saw only a few signs. That's when I decided just to avoid those businesses. -
+1 on trigem's list. Thanks for finding that.

Yea, I guess it's not the time for the state to spend additional money right now on new signs, besides, if they did the producers at channel 5 would have to be rushed to the ER for anxiety attacks.

How Many "Concealed" Guns Did You See Before...
K191145 replied to DavidCBaker's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I know the tin foil hat term is used often but with the past history of Obama, Pelosie and the far left, it's understandable why people are worried about their 2nd amendment freedoms. I still say some federal gun control legislation is comming in the future. My hope is, that many democratic legislators in the gun friendly states will see the writing on the wall this time. So I hope the trend of increasing permit applications, gun and ammo sales continue although I would love to see the price of ammo go back to normal. -

Inside Story: Could Gun Permit List Become GOP Mailing List? - NewsChannel 5.com - Nashville, Tennessee - And it seems as though those producers just can't let it go and accept the fact that they lost. This story may seem to some like a big breaking scandle, but I am personally positive now that channel 5 is just hyperhyping a couple of fourm posts/opinions in another lame attempt to bring people into their anti-gun, anti-GOP ideology. I can no longer trust a damn thing they report on. The other news outlets seem to have given the issue a rest. I think it's time to write a well thought out e-mail to channel 5. -
Most hunters I have known that had a rifle with a detachable mag. had the mag loaded in the glove box and their rifle in the rack or back seat. I guess technically they were breaking the law but I think most LEO's or Game Wardens probably wouldn't care, but there's always that one a-hole that's having a bad day they might run into.

I think it would be cheap for them to just place a small additional sign on their rules sign that says, only HPC holders are allowed to possess handguns in state parks.

On every state park entrance I have ever seen it was posted as a state park.

Nashville NewsChannel 5 poll

I guess the next Channel 5 poll should ask, "Should drunk rednecks that just came from a bar be allowed to bring their high capacity large caliber black assault handguns into our beautiful parks where birds chirp and squirrels frolic and children sing and play?" -

Off subject a little. I was searching other editorials and opinions from different media sites, mostly for entertainment and came accross this. It was from a pro-gun person commenting in the Knox County News site, I thought it was funny. -

I don't know the stats but I read somewhere that along with the increase in guns and ammo sales since the election, there's also an increase in HCP applications. Just wonder how many new permits there are that haven't been approved yet. And since the recent media frenzy about the new gun bills, I'm betting that itself will increase the intrest of some to take classes and get their permits. The media and politicians still haven't learned that the more they publisize and rant about 2nd amendment freedoms and gun control, they add to the increase in sales and intrest in carrying. Just like the 94 so-called assault weapons ban, all they accomplished was to greatly increase sales in AK's, AR's, SKS's etc. Their little schemes seem to backfire on them. -

And just who is this Mary Romano? I used to think the media chose to interview or post the opinion of the least qualified/knowledgable person on a subject like this purposly to sway other naive people to their way of thinking. Play on emotions instead of common sense. I still believe that but the media editors and commontators are no different, just as ignorant and naive and unqualified to comment. Now they have the RIGHT to an opinion even if it's a stupid one. -

At least they admitted the majority was "for" carry in parks, the poll read as though they were trying to sway peoples opinion. "Should guns be allowed in parks" without explaining it's for HCP holders, law abiding citizens. Maybe more average folks are wise to their antics than I thought. I would bet that News Channel 5 editors are dissappointed in the results. They also posted a different story than I read at first but notice how they only posted negative opinions from their readers with the exception of the one rep. -

I swear I searched before I started this thread and I see Ongoingfreedom started one also, if you look at the first post times on both they were 3 minutes apart. They should be merged I recon. -
Nashville NewsChannel 5 poll

I've searched the forum and there's not anything on this poll. Anyway, Channel 5 WTVF is a day late and a dollar short but I just thought this poll was interesting, it really shows their agenda. NewsChannel 5.com - Nashville, Tennessee - - Home Should guns be allowed in state and local parks? Notice on this poll there's no mention of permit holders nor is there any mention of HCP holders, I believe story #5 at the top. Also when I voted in the poll it didn't show the results. Channel 5 is on my list from now on. -

Especially the ones at Walmart who look nervous, you know they just got their permit and trying it out. Back in 97 when everyone was trying to figure the best way to carry concealed, you always could tell when you saw someone with a large fanny pack. -
TGI Friday's in Memphis on Winchester "no guns allowed"
K191145 replied to ki4otd's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm not saying anything to anyone, if they don't have a sign I'll go in concealed and eat, if they have a sign I'll eat somewhere else, even if their sign is improper because I don't wish to give my money to ignorant and bigoted restaurant owners in the first place, and even if their sign is improper, it's still very possible that challenging them if your outed will be alot of hassle to you. I would rather not have to get a lawyer to to prove I was right and spend a day in court. If they don't want me there, they can go have sexual intercourse with themselves. That's my attitude about it. -
Here again, I either read or heard that their was language that allowed even non permit holders to at least keep their ammo in the same part of the vehicle as the long gun.

I'm going to say everyone should own a good quality high power scoped bolt action, either in .308 or 30-06. Remington 700 maybe. I currently don't own one, had one once. If I had the dollars right now I believe that's what I would buy, a Rem 700 again in 30-06 and a good quality scope in the $250+ range.

+1 Loved my singles. Started out with the H&R .410 at 14 then graduated to a 12 at 16. Long ago I was watching the old show Tennessee Outdoors with Jimmy Holt, they were on a quail hunt with about 4 adults and one 12 year old kid. All the adults had high dollar auto 12's and the kid had an H&R .410 single. He didn't miss a single bird and shot his limit. Seems like ol Jimmy just wasted money on his Browning auto 12. On a funny note on that same show, Jimmy busted a bird no futher than 12 feet away, all you could see was a big poof of feathers. They didn't show the bird because there was probably no bird left.
