  1. It all depends on the situation, if they are armed with a baseball bat and are 100 feet away from you they don't have the ability to harm you. If they are 10 feet away they do have the ability to harm you, you just have to convince the jury they had the intent and as RinTN says, if they are crazy enough to commit the act they are the violent aggressor. Now if they bring a firearm on your property with the intent to shoot your pet, I bet most juror's would side with you. At the worst it would be a hung jury. Regardless, if someone tresspasses on my property with the intent to kill my pet they will be confronted with a firearm, then it's up to them to leave or escalate the situation. I'll take my chanches with a Cheatham Co. Tennessee jury if I have to. I think we all will agree I have a better chanch of winning than if it were a California or New England jury.
  2. The act of killing someones animal requires violence and most often a weapon of some kind. If someone is trying to shoot my dog I would also have a reasonable fear for my own life which should justify the use of deadly force.
  3. It was a real close vote in the House and I believe the Dems have a pretty good majority which means some Democrats went against their party. Also several commentators believe it wont pass the Senate, I hope their right. We still need to write Alexander and Corker.
  4. I've got a major kink in my neck for shaking my head in disbelief so much lately at the mentality of the nation. America needs some serious psychological therapy.
  5. I heard about him but I've been boycotting TV news somewhat for the last couple of days. I'll turn it to the news for 2 seconds and if they are covering Michael Jackson I'll change the channel. God help us if there's a major disaster because we wont know about it.
  6. 1. Honduras is having a military coup and kicked the President out. 2. N. Korea threatens to shoot down Japaneese planes. 3. Iranian police are killing, beating, and toturing more protestors. 4. BREAKING VITAL NEWS ALERT: 2nd autopsy ordered on Micheal Jackson. All day coverage. I didn't even know there was a coup and possible civil war in Central America until I saw it on the internet. Saw the news about N.Korea making more threats and Iranian police killing more protesters on the crawl under the Michael Jackson coverage which I had the TV on mute.
  7. Is that a gubment savings account? Isn't the Cailfornia gubment giving IOU's to it's citizens they owe tax returns to? Sorry dude, we know you're 70 and want to retire and put in 100K into your gubment savings account but we just can't pay right now.
  8. Yea, and at the same time these low income folks are going to find that their electric bill, natural gas bill, heating oil, and the price of gas at the pumps are going to greatly increase which will also raise shipping costs thus raising the price of everything that's shipped which is, uhh everything.
  9. I would hope they vote with the GOP against this bill. We also need to remember the POS U.S. Reps. who voted for it. Out of curiosity I searched Democratic Senators from other states that sometimes lean conservative, if only the people in these states pressured these Senators and threatened to vote them out of office, well, maybe that's just a pipe dream. Anyway, I excluded the ones from Kalifornia, Ill,noise, and the British Empire (New England) states. I also ommited all GOP Senators except Alexander.
  10. This is just the beginning of the nightmare. If this thing passes it will get alot worse. The average worker right now has to scrape and save every penny just to get by and when their electric bill and gas bill doubles I hope they finally see who's to blame and not allow the media to continue to blame Bush which they will try to do somehow.
  11. It doesn't take a tin foil hat for anyone to see how the federal government is running wildly out of control trampling the Constitution comitting hostile takeovers of banks and auto companies, passing legislation that no legislator even knows what it's about. The country's going to hell in a handbasket fast. We also know that the current far left socialist's who run the country have voted and sponsored extream anti-2nd amendment legislation in the past in their states and federally and we also know that they view us, the common people with disdain, as peasants to be controlled. So anything they say, do, sponsor, vote on, pass, should be viewed with the utmost distrust because we know it's not for our benifit or welfare, it's for their benifit and socialist agenda, power and control. It has nothing to do with wearing a tin foil hat, it's reality as you say.
  12. That's the same as voting to confirm him, how many times did the democrats filibuster to stop a Bush appointee to the courts?
  13. I just hope with his big name there's a GOP candidate willing to run against him in the primary. Alot of people across the state will not care how he votes on 2nd amendment issues so he will have to be portrayed in a different way to them. Just remind some people that he votes with the Democrats and Obama when the entire GOP votes against them on social and economic issues, I'm sure there's other examples of unpopular legislation he's voted for. Portray him as a RINO, an Obama appeaser. I would hope this 1000+ page climate change piece of crap bill fails in the Senate but if it doesn't, I hope he votes for it. That will be great ammo to use against him in the next election along with the anti-2nd amendment legislation and the socialist Koh he voted to confirm.
  14. A while back when my sister just started shooting I tricked her, I had a Rossie 971 ported in .357. The first rounds she shot were heavy .357 loads. She complained about the recoil so I told her, well let's try some "little" .38's. She shot a cylinder full of them and said these aren't bad at all. She owns that Rossie now.
  15. Well I've never worked for a company that required me to sign any agreement like that, and probably will never work for a company like that.
  16. Well somebody has it wrong then, it also shows Hatch as voting NAY. Anyway, I will still look forward to supporting a candidate to run against Alexander in the next primary.
  17. I would think that they would place people on that list who actually had associations with known proven terrorists like Bill Ayres. Oops, that would include President Obama wouldn't it?
  18. Which later on if some had it their way, all NRA members, all HPC holders etc. etc. We are all branded as right wing extreamists. Time to write or Congressmen/women and U.S. Senators.
  19. I would like to thank them also, and to those who wrote their reps and senators.
  20. Fallguy, you seem to be well informed on these legal matters so I ask, does any private company have any right to conduct a serach of your privatly owned vehicle for any reason if it's parked on their property?
  21. I think a better piece of legislation would strengthen our 4th amendment privacy rights against unwarrented searches. Put in specific language that places our vehicles as an extention of our homes and no one besides law enforcement, (not company security), is allowed to search our vehicles and only if there's strong evidence, (not hearsay or NRA sticker), that a felonious crime has been committed or the owner is intoxicated. Then adopt a "don't ask don't tell policy" between the employer and employee as to what you may have in your vehicle. They can ban guns on their property but can't search to find them.
  22. I'm sure this kind of idiotic crap happens more often than this incident. I would love to see the court flooded with cases like this. Even if he looses a suit, just filing it would be an inconvenience to the company and maybe bring their discriminatory agenda to others attention.
  23. I know that's what you meant, I was just saying that I've heard that even brandishing a gun qualifies as "use of deadly force". I'm assuming that's up to the opinion of your local DA. One with some common sense wouldn't see it that way if the theif was committing a burgulary on your property. To me the word "use" would mean actually firing the gun.
  24. Just Googled some TWRA ranges across the state. TWRA ranges are at the bottom of the page. Tennessee Gun Firing Ranges Archery Range Rifle Pistol Shooting from the site:

    Trip to Alabama

My sister lives in Birmingham, been there a few times. Some people may joke about Alabama or Birmingham but I'll take B Ham over Memphis any day. Wanna trade?
