  1. I actually have a photo copy of my drivers license and carry permit hidden in my truck just in case. It wont be the same as the originals but hopefully it's proof that you have them. When you renew your permit and waiting for your new card, your receipt will legally work as your card. I wonder, if you still have your receipt if that's legal enough to work if you have lost your wallet. I wouldn't completly trust what the DMV workers tell you.
  2. This law should have included everyone. How many hunters driving to the woods during deer season have their mag loaded on the seat or glove box and their rifle proped up on the seat next to them? Kinda hard to seperate them in a pickup.
  3. Okay, I finally found the perfect man stopper. Anyone know where I can find a IWB holster for it?
  4. Well I haven't shot anyone yet and hope I don't have to so I can't say with 100% certainty how my handgun and caliber choice will work. But since I was interested in handguns and subscribed to gun magizines since the early 90's, most all the so-called expert gun writers touted the .45 as the most effective handgun caliber. They had alot of praise for the .357 also so I've most often carried a handgun in those two calibers. Now I carry a Glock 21SF that's reliable, accurate, and holds 13 rounds of .45 ACP. I choose Hornaday Tap 230gr +P HP's, they shoot fine in my Glock, because I wanted a couple of hundred more FPS than the standard and HP's because they have a better chance of expanding than hardball. If I have to shoot a BG I plan, in my mind, to shoot for the torso and keep shooting until the BG stops his attack. I like having plenty of ammo in my handgun with big heavy bullets that have some extra speed.
  5. The signs on Beal Street are confusing to the local patrons, they show the standard handgun in the correct upright position with a circle and slash. Instead, they should show the handgun turned on it's side.
  6. Well it's nice for me to enjoy a drive through Montgomery Bell State Park now so in that sense I'm glad it passed. We just need to work on our local politicians now to change their opinion, or fire them.
  7. Actually we can add the "No. I'll go in regardless. - 22.8% " people to our side. They are indifferent to the bill since they don't have a permit but at least they didn't allow the media to freak them out over it.
  8. Not a big name restaurant but so far Riverbend Cafe 132 Petro Rd in Kingston Springs hasn't posted anything yet. Before the law they had a sign "inside" about firearms where alcohol is served. The small joints are important to.
  9. EEEKER: (eek eek). A vocally obnoxious person who suffers an illogical, irrational, phobic or hysterical outburst to a situation, opinion or political issue.
  10. They actually mention the poll in their web article. Judge Denies Injunction For Guns In Restaurants Bill - NewsChannel 5.com - Nashville, Tennessee -
  11. I can't get their web site to show for me right now or I would vote. It still looks like they haven't learned their lesson with these polls, everytime they post one they wind up loosing.
  12. Well technically you can get busted for it even if the odds are low.
  13. I'm not familiar with them but what about Taurus Millennium Pro 9mm compact. Here's a site with some prices around the $300+ range. Taurus MILLENNIUM PRO Pistols at Impact Guns Home http://www.impactguns.com/store/725327311256.html
  14. I decided long ago that even if a sign is improper or not, I will not carry there and most important, I will not do business or support the store or park that doesn't want me there. The only exception is government property like the VA or post office ect. I wish there was some clause that would allow you to leave your gun in the vehicle in a post office parking lot when getting your mail.
  15. I've carried so long now it's ingrained, or habit for me naturally to always keep my finger out of the trigger guard and know where the muzzle is pointing and I watch it going into the holster. My favorite carry is a belt holster with a cover shirt and I'm aware where my shirt tail is when I holster it. I always tell people if they get a HCP then carry as often as allowed by law, you will learn saftey habits that will become second nature more than someone that will occasionally carry.
  16. Congrats on your new Glock. I haven't shot my ass yet since I bought mine but I did make a couple of important new Glock rules when I bought it. 1. Never catch a dropped Glock. 2. Don't drop your Glock.
  17. And the chances are fair with all the media hype on the issue that the judge you may have decide your case is an anti-HPC liberal and would love to give the maximum penality.
  18. Oh definatly, do it smart but have some allies. It would be a good idea, especially in small towns to let some of the city legislators know just how many permit holders live and vote there (not mentioning any names of course), and I discovered there's a significant number here in Kingston Springs. There's also a person I know that can give me a heads up on what and who's discussing what about in the city council. Also I need to get off my lazy butt and attend some of the public meetings.
  19. Here's an interesting thought but it might strike a sore spot with some. I know many including me are against the Commercial Appeal's HCP database but since they wont take it down and the TN. legislator hasn't passed legislation making them take it down, then use the damn thing against them on a local level. I checked Kingston Springs out of curiousity and there's alot more HCP holders than I ever thought there was, many I know. Now I haven't heard anything about Kingston Springs opting out yet but I'm keeping my ears and eyes open. Anyway, if they do then it's time to talk to some that I know fairly well about being more involved in local politics and work to fire the ones who are not 2nd Amendment friendly. Like I said that database is a sore spot for many but since it's there, I would like to see it backfire on the anti's. Politics is a dirty game and the only way to compete is to clime down in the mud with them and fight dirty ourselves.
  20. Sure, come on in. Here they are, register away.
  21. Well that pedal on the right is the gas and the one to the left is the brake, pull your left foot up and put your right foot down.
  22. I had the same thought before. Maybe it's time to get just as dirty with them as they are to us. Expose their hypocricy. They sell a product far more potentially dangerous than guns in the hands of law abiding citizens. I just wonder how many loaded drunks they sold alcohol to, allowed to leave and get into their vehicles and injure of kill some innocent person on the highway. Maybe legislation should be proposed to restrict their alcohol sales, require them to purchase breathalizers, have a designated person to sign in as the driver of the party and ban them from consuming acohol. Wonder how bar owners would react to that?
  23. The parks I care most about is Montgomery Bell State Park, and Harpeth State Park aka(Narrows of the Harpeth). I often avoided a nice drive through them because I always have my handgun with me but no more. Let's celebrate the laws that go into effect today. So what long gun is everybody going to install in their vehicle now? I've been thinking about my 10-22 behind the truck seat. I never had any real desire to carry a long gun unless I was going to the range or hunting, it would be funny to see some people freak out at the sight of an AK or AR with a mag in a window gun rack of a pickup but I wouldn't reccommend it. IMO that would be like putting stacks of 100 dollar bills in open view in your vehicle, also if your pulled over for a speeding ticket you may have a service weapon and or shotgun drawn on you, made to lay down and get handcuffed while they run your information.
