  1. I was extreamly dissappointed to say the least in a Colt Magnum Carry I bought in the later 90's. Snubby .357, I thought the roughness of the trigger action would smooth out after breaking in but I couldn't shoot it that much because the cylinder would lock up on a particular chamber, first revolver I've had that would jam. The overall quality of the gun was sub-par, especially for having the Colt name on it.
  2. Welcome Jack, I'm on the south end of Cheatham Co., Kingston Springs.
  3. We need her as Governor, I don't think the traitor Alexander's term is up till 2012.
  4. No, he's not dumb but I believe he's naive to think he can play Chicago style politics with the rest of the nation. I think/hope like hell, many people are waking up to the dangerous path he wants America to follow. I am still astounded at how a man with his associations was elected in the first place. Associations with radical racist clergymen (Jerimiah Wright), Proven admitted domestic terrorist (William Ayeres) and so on. Of course the GOP certainly had no prize as a candidate and with the economic collapse at the end of the Bush administration I'm not surprised he won.
  5. I just hope there's something of America to salvage come 2010. I predict that the GOP will retake the House then. The main reason I'll support the GOP as a party in 2010 is simply to take the majority in the house and put the brakes on all this Marxist legislation. I would rather have 2 preceeding years NOTHING being passed or accomplished by the Obamov administration. A complete legislative stalemate is far better than what we are getting now.
  6. Is there any way in Tennessee law that we can have a recall election like California?
  7. After you stop and see the LEO walking up to your car, you should exit the vehicle very quickly and in a very loud voice announce, I'VE GOT A GUN,,,,I'VE GOT A GUN. Naaa, better not do that.
  8. I had an XD-9 SC once, really like the gun but as some has said, I'm not crazy about a grip safety. My previous jobs included bending and crawling under houses often so I always chose a holster with a thumb break strap. Might be an extra proceedure to practice when drawing but I liked the extra security of not having to crawl back under the house to retrieve my handgun.
  9. I'm not familiar with Chattanooga, I mostly know the bad area's in Nashville from a previous job which was the big motivator for getting my HCP. The bad area's in Memphis are well, Memphis. When you stay overnight at a motel that has a chain link fence with razor wire on the top of it surrounding the motel that should tell you something. Just watch the local news every day and see how many stories about murders, rapes, assaults, drive bys, and home invasions there are in one day. Having a handgun at the ready and keeping aware of your surroundings is not paranoid these days, it's smart.
  10. Been there done that. I was checking out at the register at the local grocery a while back when the cashier, (I knew her), jokingly put her hands up in the air, I knew what she was doing so I looked and my shirt was draped the top up over my gun. I pulled it back down over it and she just laughed.
  11. After a while you will get used to it, heck, I even carry a Glock with a chambered round.
  12. There's no rules against it. I think you will find the majority opinion here is to carry with the chamber loaded.
  13. Kingston Springs City Parks opted out by the City Council.
  14. LOL, me too. You can spot a HCP holder who's had their permit for years, he will be the one reaching up to get something from the top of the rack and half his Glock is showing and he doesn't care.
  15. How to spot a "NEW" HPC holder. A guy walking around Walmart with a nervous look on his face often checking his shirt tail.
  16. That always brings up the old question of what's justified and what's not. If they don't stop their advance it's safe to assume their intentions are not peaceful and you never know for sure if they also have a weapon. If you tell someone advancing towards your car to stop and they don't, it's clear they are not worried about confronting you physically. I have never shown a person my handgun but there was a time when I had it out of the holster and down at my side at the ready but the situation was not what I thought it might be at first. I don't think I over reacted because I thought the situation was bad at first but no gun was seen or known about by the other parties.
  17. I had a Bersha 85 a while back and remember how well I like the feel and fit of it. It seemed like I always had the perfect grip everytime I drew it from the holster. I imagine Walter PPK's are the same since it's pretty much a copy of one. It was a fun gun to shoot.
  18. I know most of the anti's are closed minded but there's a few you can get to, some that may just have been listening to the media too much and are just ignorant of who HPC holders really are.
  19. IMO, if he ignored her command to stop and placed his hand on the door handle of her car, she was justified in threatening deadly force. Of course I'm no lawyer, it just my personal opinion. I'm sure at the time she had a reasonable fear of being attacked.
  20. Here's a quote from the http://www.wkrn.com/global/story.asp?s=10765476 artical today, and I saw it on their news cast last night. I thought crimes never happened in parks according to the opponents of the parks bill.
  21. You might be a permit holder if, You're a Man You're a Woman You're white You're black You're Asian You're Hispanic You're Indian You're a Doctor You're a Lawyer You're an Engineer You're a Teacher You're a Plumber You're a Mechanic You're a Waitress You're Retired You're a demographic of law abiding U.S. citizens of every race, every economic class, every occupation, every level of education.
  22. Carrying since 1999/2000.
  23. I can see that, I would just like to see hunters get a break on the law and not get busted by some LEO or Game Warden having a bad day. Maybe a hunting lincese clause in the law or specifc language to include hunters.
  24. I can't find anything on lost permits except how to obtain a duplicate. Here's the law on renewing and since your permit hasn't expired, I wonder if it will apply to you.
