  1. 1980 something series Colt Python, stainless, 6"barrel. Bought it from a friend for $450 in the early 90s, sold it for $650 in the later 90's. I think they are valued over 1K now.
  2. So what actually did the last AW ban do? There were plenty of pre-ban magizines to be had, manufactures just changed some cosmetics of the guns but most of all, it greatly increased interest in alot of people to go out and buy an AK or AR ect. That's when I bought my MAK-90, 6-30rnd mags, and 2K rounds of ammo. I'm sure glad they banned that awful bayonet lug though, that seemed to have stopped the big epidemic of bayonet slayings. I guess the idea was to prevent alot of pre-ban weapons from being bought an imported by dealers, it just didn't seem to work out the way they wanted it to.
  3. Just keep it out of sight and don't tell anyone you have it in your vehicle. Even so-called friends at work may get mad at you some day and may use the knowledge against you. And never allow any private security guard to search your vehicle because they don't have any authority to do so in the first place.
  4. It's worth an investigation though. Here's a link and artical about past so-called investigations by Bloomberg. This power addicted tyarrant is on a one man crusade against the 2nd Amendment and he doesn't care who he steps on or what laws he violates. I have the utmost disdain for Bloomberg, probably more than any other politician and I disdain quite a few. NSSF
  5. I haven't seen a Russian model, I've had several Chineese Norinco's, all shot great. I take it that the Russian models are pretty hard to find.
  6. Are the Russian models better than the Norinco's?
  7. Love my little but powerful SP101 .357 Mag. I've been procrastinating about getting a lighter hammer spring from Wolf Springs but I also believe their page included a trigger return spring with the kit. Is that necessary with a changout of the main spring and is it easy to do?
  8. I was just wondering about a few things, the same things I thought about when Bloomberg sent investigators to Ohio and South Carolina a while back. Who are these investigators and where are they from? I was under the impression that it is illegal for a person to buy a gun in another state that he/she is not a resident from. I'm quite positive that only local city/county, state, and federal law enforcement has any jurisdiction in Tennessee. So wouldn't some non-official private investigator from New York be violating the law by buying a firearm from Tennessee?
  9. This would be a "don't ask don't tell" type language in some bill, they can't harrass you about what you may or may not have in your vehicle, (just because you have a Ducks Unlimited or NRA decal on your window), and also you wouldn't advertise,(leave your gun in sight, brag to employees etc.), what you may or may not have. I just don't want my right to tell someone to get the hell off my property endangered.
  10. Yep, the idiot did deserve an elbow to the face at least.
  11. I do have a problem with legislation dictating to me or any private business who or what I must allow on my property. Anyway, I also believe that I have the same property/privacy rights in my vehicle as I do in my home and just because I'm parked in a parking lot, it doesn't give anyone, especially some private security guard the right to search my vehicle. At the most they can tell me to leave their property if they have a problem with me or my vechicle. I e-mailed this to Rep. Johnson a while back and he responded.
  12. Syurp of Ipecac is more entertaining. Never did that but was very tempted once. Lunch theif.
  13. It's always a little un-nerving to me a little decocking a double/single action pistol like a Makarov or Bersa with a round in the chamber, seeing the hammer snap down when engaging the safety. Just the thought of it I recon.
  14. This is my brothers, it's a Remington Mosin he bought 30 years ago. Sombody did a number on the stock.
  15. Well it's got to work, I mean they posted a sign didn't they? I'm sure an armed robber wouldn't want to disobey the law.
  16. Well my bank just posted a "NO WEAPONS" sign on the front door. I would tell the armed robber that he must have missed the sign and I'm sure he would apologize and leave the bank.
  17. He already has a Garand. Thanks for the links, I'll show them to him.
  18. Think about what a bullet does to a jug of water.
  19. When I'm loading or unloading my handguns in the house I always point it at my bed and floor so if it does discharge it will do exactly what it did to you so kudo's for doing that. All you lost was a comforter, some temporary hearing and maybe a little dignity but no one was hurt or killed.
  20. My nefew came by today with a couple of old/new toys he bought the other day. One was a 1932 Moisen Nagant, he already has one but this one is much nicer but the real prize was a Model 98 Mauser, old but in good condition. He paid $250 for it. I suggested he may want a gun smith to check it out and it could use a good cleaning. He loves old military weapons. I suggested he either buy an Enfield or Springfield 03 or 17 next. Anybody know where to score some 8mm ammo?
  21. The way the Channel 5 story reads, it sounds as though you can enter the park if you stay in your car. I bet there's some permit holders who now believe this because of 5's lazy and inaccurate journalism.
  22. Fallguy, I saw this on Channel 5. State Analyzes Enforcement Policy on Gun Law - NewsChannel 5.com - Nashville, Tennessee - So does the last sentance mean you can actually go into the park with a gun as long as you stay in the car or does Channel 5 have their facts wrong?
  23. If you're re-holstering I assume the danger is over. I've never felt the need for a fast re-holster. Even before I bought a Glock I watched my handgun going into the holster because most of my holsters have thumb break straps that can get inside the trigger guard. I admit it took a while to get used to the thought of no manual safety but I'm fine with it now. It's just my opinion though for someone who isn't going to carry or shoot their handgun very often, the type who buys a handgun, goes to the range once or twice and fires 2 boxes of rounds then tosses it in their nightstand drawer, to consider something besides a Glock. Or really any auto for that matter.
  24. It say's,
  25. So the M38 you have is an earlier carbin model? Nice job on the refinishing, mine came out light like that when I refinished it. M-44
