  1. Nafieh gets a big "F" It would make my year to see him loose.
  2. Worst: Colt Magnum Carry .357 snubby (jam-o-matic) revolver. Best: Colt Python stainless 8" barrell for $450 which I later sold, (kick self in a$$) and bought Colt Magnum Carry, holster, and ammo and paid the electric bill.
  3. The shop is charging State Farm $2100. They also have to replace the A/C condensor and radiator. Although it didn't puncture the radiator it bent it and the mounting brackets and cracked open the plastic top. I wish I could have found the deer, at least I would have had a little meat for my troubles and in Tennessee it's perfectly legal. I did have a White Bluff LEO report the accident and give me a complaint number for the insurance company. Funny, I was ready to show him my DL and permit but he never asked for them or my proof of insurance or registration.
  4. I've never heard of those but a freaked out/scared wild animal just runs sometimes and not always away from you. Those things may make a deer run right into you.
  5. Well the top of the radiator(plastic) broke so I had to have it towed but I would have thought it would have done more damage. It was a good size buck and a pretty hard thump at 55 mph. This time of the year is when most deer/car encounters happen. I'm 48, been driving since 16 and have had State Farm since 16 and this is the very first claim I've had. I dropped collision a while back but kept comprehensive and they treated the accident like a no fault which it was, I've missed/avoided a lot of animal collisions in my time but he jumped from behind trees and brush. I guess it was just my turn to hit a deer.
  6. I wish I could have found it, I'm sure he didn't live through that. He was at least a 6 pointer, that's what I could see when he was flipping end over end in the ditch but somehow he had the adrenilin to run off in the woods. He jumped in the highway about 10 feet in front of me, I was going 55 and didn't have time to even touch the brakes. Lucky for me insurance is covering in under comprehensive with only a $100 deductable.
  7. I'm sure they are hard to come by and I would think they would be worth a little something in the collectors market. The irony of it is that those Nambu pistols were some of the biggest pieces of junk, one model had the sear exposed and could fire if you bumped the side of the pistol. If a manufacturer made a pistol today of that poor quality it would'nt be worth $25.
  8. Haslam, a "former" card carrying member of Michael Bloomberg's,(NYC Mayor who blames Tennessee for gun crime in NYC), Mayors Against Illegal Guns,(Gun control, aka Gun ban organization). I still plan to do what I said. I'm not voting for either Haslam or Son of Ned. I couldn't vote for Haslam no more than I could vote for Sarah Brady if she quit the Brady Campaign and became a rebublican. Haslam is also anti-parks carry.
  9. They still haven't updated my records to show the new 2014 date on my renewed permit. I'll check after 10-28 to see if i'm still there.
  10. +1+ That's the way it is with these new laws, the media gets the niave public all worked up but it doesn't last. They don't really care enough for it to be a big issue with them. As far as the C.A. database, I thought I wasn't listed until I noticed that they listed Kingston Springs as Kingston Spgs.(abbreaviated), on some of the permit holders. I typed in the zip code and there I was. Try typing the zip code only, no city name.
  11. I don't remember him saying that, he very well could have though.
  12. I was bragging that it took just over a month to get my renewal back. They do seem alot faster nowadays, when I first applied for my HCP back in 98 it took almost the whole 90 days.
  13. I have alot of complaints about Bush but he was far better, or let me say much less dangerous than the closet Marxist we have now. I do appreciate his Supream Court nominees and allowing that silly AW ban to expire among a few other things, tax cuts etc. Much better record than his dad had on firearms issues and his SC choices have made brave decisions on the 2nd Amendment.
  14. Holy thread resurection Batman. Well, I was lazy back on July 31 and mailed in my HCP renewal, I know I said I was going to the DL center but I figured I would get it eventually and sure enough I got my new permit in the mail today less than 2 months. That's the fastest I've ever gotten it back. Now I don't have to worry about it till 2014. YEE HAA.
  15. Yep, as long as they don't post a gun buster that's fine with me.

    Still learning.

Nice 1911. Those original grips do look a bit rough.
  17. That may be something to bring up in the TN State House and Senate.
  18. The ATF likes their Glocks, they just don't like our Glocks.
  19. Thanks. One thing though, suddenly loosing 13 rounds of ,45ACP is a noticable weight difference, and makes a pretty big clack when it hits the floor.
  20. I'm in, and thanks for the website. Just add a link to the "Gun-Free Dining" website. Let them know they are giving us the information of where to, and where not to patronize.
  21. I never gave it a thought before, I'm always extra careful of the trigger when holstering, being a Glock. Dumping your mag is not much of a safety issue but if you didn't notice it, like the mag landed on grass or pew padding, then you've lost your mag.
  22. If your handgun has an ambidextrous magizine release like my G-21SF does, and your belt holster does not cover the release, then be careful when sitting in a folding chair. Luckily I was at a place where they didn't care and most knew I carried. The tube leg of the chair pushed the release and dumped my magizine on the floor, it was funny where I was but may be embarrassing somewhere else.
