Russian SVD Draganov Sniper Rifle. It chambers the old 7.62x54R, pretty equal to the 7.62 NATO/.308. Surplus ammo is pretty cheap but you can order decent quality hunting ammo for it. I think it's limited to a 10 round mag capacity, semi-auto only. It would be a rifle that would have to be ordered im sure, never seen one at any gun show. From what I have read and heard they are very reliable also and accurate. I couldn't afford one right now but it's been on my fantacy wish list for a long time. You can say what you want about the Ruskies but they make some cool looking firearms. IMO, this is one of the coolest looking rifles i've seen.

Haslam company bans firearms in parking lots

He belonged to an ANTI-GUN organization called Mayors Against Illegal Guns headed by Michael Bloomberg and Richard Daley. He only quit and joined the NRA when he decided to run for Governor so he was no doubt ANTI-GUN before he decided to run, and most likely still is but such a bootlicking politician he will claim he is not to buy peoples vote. The bootlicker will win but at least i'll know that I didn't sell my principals and help him win. The easy choice, and only choice for me was to not vote for either Bill (Bootlicker) Haslam or Son Of Ned. -

I kept my word and didn't vote for Haslam either, I saw a list of independent canidates earlier and voted for Carl (Two Feathers) Whitaker. I liked his webpage and positions,he's a conservative libertarian . http://www.carlwhitakerforgov.com/ -
Haven't flown "commercially" enough to get stuck or delayed anywhere but I can see it being a pain in the ars at least.

I thought they closed schools down because a student brought a handgun to the school Monday. Ann Holt from Channel 2 News said it was a "threehundred and eighty caliber" handgun.

Oh, I forget to use the word sociopath in describing her. I can think of a few more but I can't use them on the forum.

I'm just assuming Ron's a Boxer fan, being a good little liberal and all. Probably pretty ticked off at his brother.

Thinking about the thread, Politicians I don't despise, Boxer is at the top of the list of politicians I despise the most. If anyone ever fit the definition of b!tch, she's the one but it would be a close race between her and Pelosi and Fienstein. I have 0 respect for her, she's a spoiled little spoonfed, selfrightous, narcissistic, sanctimonious 50 something brat who i'm pretty sure hasn't had a hard day in her life. She probably supports human cloning wishing she could make an exact copy so she could sleep with and marry herself.

I saw this commercial today for the first time, there's alot of truth in it.

Too funny. Produced by the director of the movie Airplane.

I only have this one, my camera isn't the best at taking close ups. I really couldn't beat the price of that Makarov, my sister sold it to me for the $5 range permit we got one day at the range.

Just stay out of Chicago. I had a Legally Armed book that pretty well explained how to transport through some states and locking it in a containor and storing it in the trunk seemed to be the norm for most of them. Good thing you're not going to the New England states, the book said before you enter New Jersey, stop on the Delaware Bridge and throw all your firearms in the Deleware River.

I couldn't steady my sites last Wednesday but I made the mistake of firing about 30-7.62x54 rounds from a Moisen Nagant before I shot my handguns. Plus I have had a disc removed in my neck and tendonitis in my right elbow, plus I wear a strong prescription in glasses and need my eyes checked. 1. Good excuse? 2. Lame excuse?

I've got it in a cheap Uncle Mikes soft holster, nothing fancy but it works. I bet I can find a leather holster for a Walter or Bersha that will work for it. A couple of years ago my mom went to a yard sale and bought a holster for $2, it was a green canvas military flap holster. I didn't want to laugh but it was cool just for the collector aspect of it but low and behold it only fits one gun I have, the Makarov. It would never fall out of it that's for sure but would take 15 seconds to draw the gun.

Last Wednesday my nefew and I went to the range at the Cheatham WMA. The last Goodman show I bought 3 boxes of Silver Bear 9x18 Makarov ammo (Russian made) for $12 per box. Aluminum case, cheaply made and dirty. I shot about 125 rounds of that and a mag of some pricy Hornaday HP's I had to see how they cycled. Accuracy was decent for me at 25 yards, I'm sure the gun is more accurate than I am now, at least I can keep all rounds in an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of printer paper at 25 yards with no bench rest. Also the ballistics i've read on the 9x18 are somewhat better than the .380. What makes me want to carry my Makarov is it's much lighter and more compact than my G-21, that goes without saying, also it has NEVER malfunctioned no matter what crappy ammo i've fed it and it's been shot alot since my sister owned it for a few years before I bought it from her. Reliability is the most important aspect in a defensive handgun IMO. The Makarov is a no frills Walter PPK copy, not the best trigger and small sites but I kinda like the DA/SA feature and I have the confidence that it will fire and cycle every time I pull the trigger. I kept a mag of Hornaday HP's for carry and have some Wolf ammo for an extra mag, I'll get another box of Hornaday's later on.

5th district - Cooper vs. Hall: Thoughts?
K191145 replied to shortround's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well he needs to get his name out there and put Cooper tight with Pelosie which he is. Any conservative or even independent thinking person should vote against any candidate who sides with Pelosie. Hall needs to find a photo of Cooper standing side by side with Pelosie and photoshop a Karl Marx button on Pelosie. Maybe you can tell some of the politicians I despise the most are California female politicians. It has nothing to do with women in general but they seem to have sever case of self rightousness, sanctimoniousness, and narcissism. That includes Pelosie, Boxer, Feinstein, Waters and I'm sure quite a few more. There's quite a few male politicians I disdain just as much. -

They have me in Marsha Blackburn's district so I can't vote against Cooper. I'm not all that confident that Hall can beat Cooper. Again, a sizeable portion of the public are niave dolts and vote according to who has the most commercials on TV. I've seen quite a few Cooper commercials but no Hall commercials. Hall needs to grab a big handfull of mud and run a slew of commercials showing that soulless vampiar b/witch Nancy Pelosie pulling a string on Coopers back controlling every vote he makes. -
Scott DesJarlais don't need no stinkin' bullets
K191145 replied to Glenn's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
They sling mud because it works with a segment of the public and they will keep doing it. A good portion of the public are DOLTS and will swallow anything they see/hear on some TV commercial. That's why Haslam won the primary. I'm not in Scott DesJarial's district but if I was I would probably vote for him because what ever he's done in the past can't be worse than anyone who would side and vote with Nancy Pelosie. -
Got my truck back yesterday, had it repaired at King Automotive in Ashland City. They did a great job and fairly quick too.

These aren't movie quotes but some of my favorite from Will Rogers. Don't squat with your spurs on. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment. Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier'n puttin' it back in. If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there. If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around. There's two theories to arguin' with a woman. Neither one works. When you give a lesson in meanness to a critter or a person, don't be surprised if they learn their lesson. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it back in your pocket. Never miss a good chance to shut up. -

Great movie. Some of favorite quotes, Lone Watie: Get ready, little lady. Hell is coming to breakfast. Josey Wales: Now remember, when things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. 'Cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live nor win. That's just the way it is. Josey Wales: When I get to likin' someone, they ain't around long. Lone Watie: I notice when you get to DISlikin' someone they ain't around for long Senator: The war's over. Our side won the war. Now we must busy ourselves winning the peace. And Fletcher, there's an old saying: To the victors belong the spoils. Fletcher: There's another old saying, Senator: Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining. -
