Tennessean LTE: "Gun bill interferes with property rights"
K191145 replied to daddyo's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Thanks. I have a friend that works for Nissan and they never ask or search any vehicles, I bet that most do not. I have heard of a couple of guys fired from UPS because they were in the parking lot showing each other their hunting rifles, if they had waited till they got home no one would ever known they had them in their vehicles. I never had any issues with where I worked but if I did I would never let them search my vehicle, some may call it arrogance but my principals are worth more than a job. I have bent them by voting for someone I didn't like just to vote against a much worse person but some principals I wont budge on. -
I have a charcoal smoker. The only wood I have used is oak and hickory but I heard apple was a different flavor. I might experiment with a chicken first, I would hate to ruin a rack of ribs or a big shoulder if I didn't like the apple. If I do like the apple I have a lifetime supply of it.

Since you don't know the building they were in you can only make assumptions.

Tennessean LTE: "Gun bill interferes with property rights"
K191145 replied to daddyo's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Years of arguments and debate on this issue and it's gotten nowhere. Yes, a private property owner can ban or deny anyone or anything from his/her property for whatever reason but my vehicle is my private property and no one, including any private or corperate security cop wannabe has no authority to search my vehicle, my property, my extention of my house. Only city, county, state, or federal law enforcment can search my property with a warrant issued by a judge if there's evidense of a crime. If a private business doesn't like my answer of, "it's none of your damn business" what's in my private vehicle then they can tell me to leave their property. If I don't place my handgun on the dashboard or somewhere for everyone to see then it doesn't exist. It's okay to lie to your employer, they lie to you and yes, that is an excuse so if they ask if you have a firearm in your vehicle just say no. If they ask to look in your vehicle just say your offended by them implying that your lying, even if you are and tell them hell no, you can't search my vehicle. If you don't brag to fellow employees about your nice handgun you have or leave it visable in your car most likely employers wont ask you what's in your vehicle. Don't ask, don't tell. -
So I also had a fairly big apple tree blow down in my back yard and now I have several paeople want some wood from it. I never used it to BBQ but i'm going to saw up a bunch in small blocks and keep it for smoking. Anyone know how long I should let it cure before I burn it or will it be okay to burn green? Also what is the best meat to smoke with it? I need to go down to my swamp/woods to see if there's any hickory down, there's several big oaks.

I would much rather have an above ground safe room with a strong metal door that opens to the inside of the room, not only for storms but maybe fire and burgler proof to store some valubles. And the occasional tornado. I believe you can construct a small room strong enough to handle most anything.

(Supposely), my neices friend who lives near McCory Ln took this looking towards Kingston Springs and I-40. I never saw a funnel because it was rain and hail wrapped. It was an F1 according to the news, this could be it but you know how fakes can appear on the internet.

I have to compliment Dickson Electric for getting our power back on yesterday, they had alot of work around the area and they spent several hours just pulling new lines to my house. I didn't have any house damage, mainly because i'm protected by a hill behind my house but I had alot of yard and tree damage. Here's a few pics. The destroyed barn in the last pic is one of my neighbors.

My nefew who is a paramedic and fireman took this video 3-2-12 at the downtown firehall in Kingston Springs. Channel 5 showed some of this.

Just seems to me that it would be a little more intense to race a 200mph tank with 43 other 200mph tanks touching a bumping and hitting your tank, than racing a high tech go-cart 50 yards from the nearest high tech go-cart. Just saying.

Rick Santorum is resurrected as the conservative alternative

It's going to be a contest between Nikita Khrushchev Obama and Mikhail Gorbachev Rino, I guess i'll have to choose Gorbachev as the least dangerous of the two socialists. Kieefer is right, it's about stopping, a RINO administration is better than the current iron curtain administration. -
homeowner with warning sign on front door killed

+1 The element of surprise is an advantage I believe. Advertising that you have guns in your home to the perps not only gives them the idea that, I had better hurry up and shoot them before they shoot me, it also advertises that you have alot of money(guns), to trade for crack or meth. Just go ahead and post a sign that says, there's alot of money here, shoot me. -
I know it doesn't just happen to fast food chains but if a particular chain is buying a product they use alot more of than other chains, like a particular salsa that is contaminated then many more people will get sick from that chain. There needs to be an economic consequence so these fast food chains will inspect their food products a little better. I'm fairly positive that a huge national fast food chain can afford a few incubators and petre dishes, and hold new shipments for 24 hours until they test clear of dangerous bacteria, it doesn't seem that difficult of a task that can prevent a potential fatality. Taco Bell has been the culprit a few times in the last few years for more than average food poisening, I think they should be made an example of. Also an investigation into the CDC is in order.
-
Fast food is really garbage anyway. What gets me is that the CDC who has in the past stuck their nose in political issues like gun control will not release the name of a food chain who's food is contaminated with a real disease. No doubt some politicians have influence over the CDC. Taco Bell has been guilty in the past for searving contaminated food I know this for a fact because I was a salmonella victim in 2008 from a taco salad from Taco Bell and I was just one of many cases, alot more than reported. It's sad that the CDC and government will not release the name of a source of a disease that can be fatal to older more fragile people. Their more worried about the financial hit they may take and whatever financial hit they may get they deserve it if they willingly expose people to a dangerous disease.
-
Hadn't eaten there since 2008 when I got sick for 6 days and needed 3 IV's. Seems that the CDC and federal government doesn't want you to know where people are getting sick at. Loss of revenew is more important than protecting people's health. Taco Bell Linked To Salmonella Probe after 68 People Fall Ill in 10 States, Report Says

Well i'm not a single issue person either but I value my 2nd Amendment rights as well as my 4th and 1st Amendment rights as well as the rest of the BOR's. There's many times and places where not having a handgun doesn't make me feel unsafe, it's a matter of principal like i've said before. I wouldn't want to visit a state where you would have to consent to a vehicle search before crossing the border, or be arrested if you critisized the state government. Mandatory vehicle searches and arrests for unlawfull speech are extreams that states don't have but they do have extream un-constitutional laws about firearms therefore I wont be visiting them. Also, i'm against going 80mph in a school zone but I have heard that if you have a Tennessee or say an Alabama plate driving through Massachusetts chances of being pulled over by state or local police are alot better than having a local or neighboring state plate. The source I got that from is a former Boston cop. I don't care to be profiled either.

I never said there wasn't good people from California or New England I know some and i'm sure there's alot more. It's hard enough to tolerate the politics here much less in a more socialist state like California or Massachusetts. Since I wont fly anymore I don't want to be arrested on a firearms charge so I wont be traveling through states that don't honor my TN permit. I plan on driving to South Dakota to see the Badlands and Deadwood so I will avoid Illinoise for that reason.
-
It's a shame, there's some beautiful country I would like to see in California, don't care at all about the cities. I'll never go simply because of the politics there as with some other places in the New England area.

Real Purpose of Dust-up With Gov Brewer

A "beat down" ? I think you have the Secret Service confused with a different SS. Although ol Heinrich would have approved of the idea of a beat down. -

++++1 We need more "loose cannons" or radicals. I'm sick of the BOOTLICKERS we have now, not just in this state but some conservative leaders across the nation. One's that wont give in or comprimize, which is just another word for surrender. One's that are more than willing to fillibuster for days if need be to kill socialist legislation, and one's that have the guts to shake a finger at the Presidents face and put him in his place. One's that will tell the Fienstien's, Schumer's, Boxer's, Bloomberg's, Pelosi's, and Clinton's to go have relations with themselves, no bootlicking, no comprimizing, no surrendering. -
I think there's about 100 that needs to go. Maybe I would keep a few from other states if I knew more about them.
-
But they do mean something to criminals. They tell the criminal that they are safe to conduct their criminal activities in a safe enviorment. For them.
-
If you had a cylinder chambered for .32ACP, then .32ACP would be the PROPER ammo. Bullet diameter being the same it would make no difference. Maybe a little less expensive to shoot and more ammo choices. Just saying.

Ok, so now what? Three states, three different winners.

Well I plan on voting for the RINO running against Obama, my hope is that we can pressure our state elected Congressmen/women and Senators to stand up to whoever is POTUS, and not allow them to futher destroy our economy, Constitution, and our values. I vote we start sending e-mails to our Reps and seriously look at who is running against them. Congress has a horrible approval rating but everybody keeps electing the same ol bootlickers.
