  1. Does anyone in middle TN stock NV or thermal? I sold my old Harley a few weeks ago, and the idea of getting a super-power(seeing in the dark) is intriguing. I’ve been kicking around thermal/NVG/helmet-mounted/weapon sight for awhile now, and it’s enough to make a man go crazy.
  2. I’ve killed more deer with the front end of a semi than I ever did with a firearm.
  3. No, but I’ve known him for a decade or three. ‘Bob is Bob’ is the best I can offer as to his online & offline persona. The Walther magazine issue was a year ago, and I even started a thread in the Walther forum about it. That place is a mausoleum so I basically talked to & updated the issues to myself.
  4. He was doing so well at first, but the old Bob just couldn’t stay hidden for very long. Back to the original topic, sort of… It took Walther over a month to replace a magazine follower for a .40 P99. The follower tilted and got jammed halfway in the mag body, then cracked off the slide lock tab when it became unstuck and the spring slammed it into the feed lips. In the old days(up until a few years ago), they would have dropped a new part in the mail. Instead, I had to send the entire magazine to them in Fort Smith, which sat on someone’s bench for almost a month before anyone looked at it. They pronounced the problem as ‘fixed’ by replacing the part, not charging me $$, and shipping it back five weeks after I sent it off.
  5. I ride my ‘02 Road King to work every day it’s not raining or very cold. I’d post pictures but they’re too big & im not sure how to resize them here.
  6. I bought some 7.62x51 AP ammo from a guy & the delivery was expected on a Saturday. He texted me asking how I liked the ammo, but I had not seen any sign of it, despite the package showing ‘delivered’ on his end. I found the box containing my ammo in the hedges, in front of my neighbor’s house, down the block. It was almost as if the driver had tossed my 8lb package out the door of his truck as he drove by…. Almost.
  7. A blast of pepper spray and a right hook could have ended it quickly and with everyone living though the situation. Instead, the guy goes to the morgue in a rubber bag, MNPD gets yet another PR black eye, the THP shrug it off because they don’t care about their image, as long as people are afraid of them, and an off-duty cop who had no reason to get involved wishes he’d have kept driving with his family in the car.
  8. You missed the point, but that’s ok.
  9. Has anyone here tried Wheeler’s Raid from Nolensville? They are a small outfit but have been producing the canned cocktails for awhile now. I picked up the entire state of Georgia’s initial shipment of whiskey a few weeks ago, and they seem like a very nice bunch of people. They have tastings from time to time with live music, too. Disclaimer: I don’t drink alcohol anymore, so my reason for asking is because I’m curious about their product, and need a ‘stunt liver’ to give it a shot.
  10. Bellevue/west Nashville checking in. Mrs. IHJ woke me up at 0300 when her phone alarm went off, so we headed for the basement. Kingston Springs supposedly had one nearby heading east along 70, but all we got was a lot of wind; no lost power or damage that I’ve seen. I went back to bed around 0345 with the bedroom window open & all I heard were a few rumblings of thunder.
  11. Far out, man...
  12. You can’t even joke about these things anymore, since satire is dead & we are living in Bizarro World. It turns out that the piece of #### actually WAS an aspiring rapper. The vehicle he used to run those people down is right behind him in this clip from his 2019 rap video. Good luck finding it on YouTube since the powers-that-be are trying to sanitize his internet presence.
  13. I sent my SOCOM-16 back to them for extraction issues, despite the gun being 8 years old and I wasn’t the original buyer. They polished the chamber and replaced the extractor in just under a week. I shipped the rifle on a Monday, they had the rifle in their shop Wednesday & shipped it the same day, and I had it back that Friday. They must have test-fired the crap out of it, since the rifle was clean when I sent it, and the rifle was filthy when I got it back. That is customer service.
  14. I wonder if Dale Monroe moved down here with them.
  15. I ordered some specialty rifle ammo a few years ago, and it was delivered by FedEx. I got a text from the seller on the delivery day, asking me how I liked the ammo, but I had not seen it yet. The app was telling him that the package had been delivered, so I went for a walk in the neighborhood. I found my package in the hedges in front of my neighbor’s house, almost as if the driver had thrown my package from a moving truck as he drove by. Almost…
  16. Bellshire Hardware & Guns is the only store a buddy uses for FFL transfers. Edit: Phil is apparently a very good guy to work with there.
  17. I guess he knows now, doesn’t he?
  18. Brandon Lee(son of Bruce Lee) was killed on the set of 1994’s ‘The Crow’ while filming his character’s death scene. They had been using live rounds with the powder dumped out for a close-up shot, in which the actor pulls the trigger several times. The primers pushed two slugs into the barrel, after which a blank round was fired, which drove out the bullets and struck Brandon Lee in the chest.
  19. I don’t like the inability to delete ads. It could be worse; Armslist requires a paid subscription not only to see the ad body, but now you can’t even see the price without logging in. A site with as many data breaches as Armslist has a lot of nerve asking for access to my bank account in order to do business there.
