    Radar Detectors

    The best one made. http://www.valentine1.com/
  2. I stayed here the last time I was in the area. http://www.riverstoneresort.com/ Very modern place with lazy river pool, arcade, spa, etc.
  3. I am interested in seeing how you built those slideouts ... are they pretty solid?
  4. Here is a guy that went from 650 to much less (does not say how much). Pictures are a little graphic but really an amazing weight loss. Sorry - old link now points to a NSFW site. Here is a cached version of it http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/DF127056-71CD-4CE3-BB56-B2B82F24EBDF/
  5. I had a sig P229 in .357sig and .40. There is a big difference if muzzle flash and report between the two.
  6. I have started to load .45acp (on a hornady LNL for what its worth) and have noticed that my shells want to stick in the chamber. Hard to extract manually. Do you think that I am not getting enough crimp?
  7. From mythbusters episode 16 http://mythbustersresults.com/episode16 The smell of Skunk musk can be removed with tomato juice. plausible The strong odor of tomato juice masks the skunk smell until the human nose becomes desensitized to the smell of tomatoes, at which point the skunk musk is again noticeable. The smell of Skunk musk can be removed with commercial cleaners. plausible The commercial cleaners tested had limited success at eliminating the aroma of skunk musk. The smell of Skunk musk can be removed with a custom mixture. confirmed A mixture of soap, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda proved to work best for actually eliminating the aroma of skunk musk. The precise formula may be found in the Skunk article. The smell of Skunk musk can be removed with beer. busted Beer did not work. The smell of Skunk musk can be removed with a douche. busted A douche had also no effect at all.
  8. I have heard that the TWRA indoor range is nice too. The guys that used to shoot the bulls eye league moved over there from range usa. About 1/2 price too from what they tell me. Range usa is nice as well. Ditto on the friendly staff (and some of them are members here).
  9. There was an ammo and ammo can feeding frenzy at one table. This morning it was well stocked, when I left at 2pm there was almost nothing left. I bought a galco 1911 paddle holster for $10 but nothing else. There was a guy that had a DPMS upper with B/C and CH for $650 that I almost bought.
  10. I was not using a hitch lock or anything to secure it. I did go out a buy a tongue lock for my other trailer yesterday. There is some good news ... i made up a flyer and passed it out to a few of my neighbors and he told me that he has passed the truck a few times as he is leaving for work. So it looks like they might be using my street to cut through to wherever they are going (I am in a somewhat rural area that most people would not come to unless then needed to take a shortcut between a couple of roads). So hopefully they will drive by again while I am at home.
  11. The neighbor that saw the trailer being stolen is not the sheriff. The sheriff lives one house down (10 acres away) and heard the call on his radio. I called 911 at 9:17 and the first police car was at my door at 9:26. So we almost got the guys but were a little too late. I am using a panasonic wv-nm100 which is an indoor camera but I have used it under an eve outdoors for about 4 years and it has been solid. I use a linux box with zoneminder software to do the motion capture.
  12. Got a call from my neighbor this morning while I was on my way to work and he asked me if I was having some people work on my house since he noticed a strange truck in the driveway. I said no, hung up and called 911. I got home about 10 minutes after they left with the trailer. My neighbor is a sheriff and he drove around trying to help me find the guys but no luck. If anyone sees a silver GMC pickup with an 18ft car hauler in the Memphis/Lakeland/Fayette county area let me know. The picture below is from my security camera as they were leaving.
  13. Mods please delete
  14. Sorry .. should have posted back story. Note that after shooting the dude pistol whips them http://www.azcentral.com/community/phoenix/articles/2009/01/06/20090106Abrk-jewelrystore0106.html
  15. Thanks for all of the suggestions. Gives me a lot to dig in to.
  16. I am thinking about buying a full auto pistol. I would like a vector uzi but they seem to average $7000+ which is a little too much. It looks like a mac 11 would be a little more affordable for me at around $3-4k. I have looked on gunbroker and sturmgewehr. Any other sites that I should be looking at?
  17. I have one of these that I bought a few years ago sitting in my junkbox. I never carried it with me but thought about leaving it in my truck. I didn't think it would be any different than a "tire checker" or axe handle.
  18. Do you have to have a permit to carry one of these? What about carrying in the vehicle?
  19. I sort of agree with the above poster ...
  20. Time to take all of my 2008 AFC south champion stuff to the range tomorrow.
  21. add a dozen or so DVD drives and some picatinny mounts
  22. When you enter the arena there is on the right side (closest to the door) that has a bunch of reloading stuff. Guy says that he is selling it for his buddy and that it has a $150 mount, etc. I almost bought it but pulled out the iphone and found that it is fake. Here is how you tell: The scope will be marked "Aimpoint CompM2 4MOA 10338#240944". The 10338 is the wrong model number and the serial number matches all the fake ones online. He wants $250 for it. I told him what I found out but I don't know if he will pass that info along.
  23. It would not take much to implement this as a web app. No need to write something plus I am not sure how well apple would take to anything gun related?
  24. Wife and I watched the new york feed and then went to bed. Woke up about 1:30 to a bunch of flashing lights outside of the house. Two kids were driving too fast and flipped their jeep. Both of them walked away uninjured.
